The variety of products are good. Desserts aren't fresh. Customer service by counter staff is poor - they are short with you and getting stared at. read more

I'm leaving my second review as I was at Adonis in Scarborough back on June 18/21 in the evening...again I came home with a massive abundance of meats, healthy breads, olive oils, and spices...I admire how hard the staff all work... especially the Deli and Meat Section staff...when I was at the cashier checkout I was so happy with the nice lady cashier names NAZ. She was so friendly and helpful and a wonderful person to talk to. I hope NAZ will be considered for a promotion. read more

One of the best places to do grocery shopping at plus cooked food, salads, baked goods. Real amazing place.

I know we all have to do our best, in these times, but stay healthy and DO NOT GO TO ADONIS!!!. Almost none of the staff wear their mask correctly, that's when they wear them at all! The butcher, ffs, wearing his mask on his chin! The baker making the pitas too! I had to tell one of the staffer to keep his distances, he was trailing me relentlessly! The best one: the bloody MANAGER is wearing her mask below her nose! The city should shut down this place! read more

Horrible, the fruits were old, the vegetables were old, it was disgusting. I walked right back out

Upgrading my rating to 5 stars, I've frequented this grocery store once almost every week after my morning jogs. Produce is still very fresh and great value for the price, pitas still just as good and staff are pretty friendly. Try the Baklava! You won't be disappointed. Wide assortments of prepared mini cheese, meat and pizza shawarmas, sandwiches, kabobs and samosas. Little seating area after the cash registers to enjoy your food. read more

Adonis - The ones on the bottom with the crumbled up pistachios are the best! We tried the others out of curiosity, but not that great. - Grocery Near Me - Toronto, Ontario

Loved the one in Montreal so much that I couldn't wait to visit this one It does not disappoint The spicy beef samosa over the counter is awesome The pitas are made in house on an assembly line style machine for you to see. The bread is always warm Lotsa sauces and jars of exotic foods for reasonable prices Marinated meats are great The tabuleh, hummus, tirokafteri, radish, nuts and produce are all solid! read more

Ok, I've been shopping here since they first opened. Had this review been earlier, it probably would have been 5 stars. Here goes. The Good : Excellent variety of foods and baked goods of A Middle Eastern ish nature. The fish counter has some good deals and the produce is quite good. Customer service has been a priority for them in the past. The Bad : As of late the overall quality of all of the above items has dwindled somewhat, things are now hit or miss. The hot food has become tasteless and dry, the Shawarma is consistently overcooked and hard to eat. The produce isn't managed as well as before and you're more likely to find furry fruits on the shelves. Yuck! The Ugly : Customer service is in short supply here now. I routinely see employees being rude or condescending to customers. Getting meat from the counter is like getting drinks at a club...pretty ladies are served first, guys, we'll get to you when we get to you. This afternoon the lady at the cheese counter yelled at my 7 year old for taking a number out of of the dispenser. Straight up yelled at her. When I asked her if this is how she speaks to people, she ran into the back. We went to the front, paid and then asked to speak to a manager. After about ten minutes we were told that none of the managers wish to speak with us and to call back and ask for the store manager. Really? One appearance on Top Chef and you guys think you're Pusateri's? Time for some retraining in customer service guys. Here's a hint... The customers are the people who keep you in business. If you don't have any customers, you don't have a business. read more

I bought some of their pastries because they look so delicious and appealing and I figured why not, if they are selling them they must be popular and people purchase them! But I am issuing a warning to people are thinking of purchasing their pastries, don't buy and waste your money. I purchased a small box of baklava Their pastries were terrible and could not be eaten. All the pastries had nuts and all of these cashews, walnuts and pistachios had gone stale!!! They even smelled disgusting. I cannot believe they are selling rancid nuts in their pastries. They must have been sitting there forever. Such a disappointment because they look a lot better than they taste. read more

Few days ago I bought Kashta from Adonis Mississauga Eglinton and when I arrived home I put some of it in a dish and while I was eating I found a small transparent plastic fork which was sharp!!!!!!! It was burried in the kashta!!!!!!! It wasn't visible I scooped with the kashta to realised that I almost shocked on it I was like omg how can they do such a hazard mistake!!!. Lately I realised that Adonis is hiring unprofessionals uneducated untrained employees in the dairy section..! read more

Adonis is a supermarket chain originating from Quebec that specializes in Middle Eastern groceries/food. This location is one of their first forays into the Ontario market and I must say it is pretty impressive. Firstly the store is quite spacious, well lit, and incredibly clean. They have everything the major grocery chains have (large produce section, meat, seafood, deli, hot table, dry groceries) but what sets them apart is that they carry Middle Eastern products and ingredients that you are most likely not going to find at your local grocer. The price points are hit and miss depending on what you are getting. Much of the produce and dry goods were on par with the price points at No Frills. While things like meat and fresh seafood were pricier (although all their meat is Halal if you have such a dietary restriction). My favourite section was the hot table which had many ready made Middle Eastern classics including: Shawarma, Falafel, Manakesh, assorted "pizza's," rice dishes, vine leaves, and kebbe. The hot table also has some basic Indian dishes, and roasted chickens. I did indulge in some stuffed vine leaves and a couple meat kebbe, both were decent, about what you would expect from a grocers hot table. These guys are also making pita's fresh on site (they have a pita making facility on site that is in the middle of the store so all customers can marvel at the freshly made bread). For those with a sweet tooth they have a large selection of Middle Eastern desserts. Overall those who enjoy Middle Eastern cuisine should feel right at home at Adonis. I found their specialty ingredients were a bit more expensive that other Arab grocers in the area but they are definitely cleaner and more spacious. I will definitely visit Adonis regularly to get my Middle Eastern fix, this is definitely a welcome addition to the area. read more

Never, ever, ever go to the pizza section of this place. Terrible, stale food. Lousy service, high prices. 3 times I've tried to get something here, hoping it'll be better; three times a fail. Terrible experience overall. read more

we were at Scarborough Adonis today from 5 to 5:40pm shopping and then at the grills, the food we bought for dinner supposed to be grilled and warm enough, we got cold food, only 3 cash registers were open while the lights were on 7 long line ups, this store needs serious management improvement and getting at the bottom of issues read more

This place is awesome. They have fresh fish that they will cook for u if u have 30 mins to spare. They broil or deep fry whatever fish you choose. Awesome option if ur looking for something healthy (broiled). 2 full sea bass broiled was only $20. Also, avoid house and clothes smelling like fish for 2 days read more

Yesterday my wife and three grown up kids stopped by Adonis for some produce and groceries while visiting my eldest daughters new home. We decided to get something for lunch at their snack bar/deli and take it to my daughters home. I was first amazed by the customer service and how they explained the contents and gave us some samples to taste. Bought some roasted chicken, garlic potatoes, falafel, fatouish and other items. Also got an assortment of 8-10 different buklava. Best take out food I've ever ate and there fresh baked on site pita bread is a must, soft and slight chewy best ever. read more

New Supermarket is what once was the Brick Superstore. Adonis is owned 55% by Metro and it shows. Lack of cashiers on 2nd day of Grand Opening? Only 4 cash lines open? I bought some Tangerines, the first one I grabbed disintegrated in my hands!!! Not a welcoming experience. Most interesting thing in the store is the Pita Factory inside pumping out thousands of PITAs an hour. read more

Rather disappointed because pre-made products are good or not fresh: fish and tabouli were not edible when I bought. And the meat pies were tasteless. Though I didn't complain I'm afraid to buy any pre-made foods here. Actually I rather just shop elsewhere. I also find their prices outrageous! Much completion in the area to not have to put up with food that does not satisfy read more

Okay, Okay. I decided to give these peeps another chance. Last minute lunch brought us here. Ordered the exact same things as last time I went, a chicken shawarma and a spinach/cheese pizza. It was busy, c'mon it was a Friday! Not as totally organized as before. Cashed out and brought it back to work to eat. Eating this shawarma this time was pretty good, A-OK in my books. It tasted good compared to that dry-arse, tasteless dry-wall thing I had last time. I was happy and enjoyed it. There was an abundant amount of garlic and tahina sauce. Yes! The spinach/cheese pizza was delicious too. So yea, 3 outta 5. I'd go back... yea I would. read more

Adonis is good, and we are lucky to have it in Toronto. Most other cities would be jealous. The good: Location, parking, prices, meat display and freshness. Prepared foods display. Dessert display. The bad: The fruits and veggies aren't always the freshest or best quality. The ugly: The service. Some of the cashiers are clueless and their customer service sucks. Too many language issues. read more

Its a nice and clean grocery store with over inflated prices. If you do your grocery shopping here, expect everything to be marked up. I bought 6 middle eastern cheese pizzas, for $18. The pizzas are the size of a pita bread. It worked out to $3 for each middle easter pizza, and ya know what it wasn't all that great. I could basically make the same at home, with pita, cheese, and butter for significantly less than that. We also tried their chicken shawarma, and falafel, both were dry and it was apparent that we were getting bread with not much in it. read more

Great supermarket. My wife and I shop here often for may specialty items. They have fresh fish, meat, produce and their dry goods section is awesome. I hope that more locations pop up all over toronto. Keep up the good work! read more

Used to be a fan but it's now one of my lest favourite places to shop. Place is crowded, carts are a dollar and service is terrible. They have a ton of registers but less then half are ever open so the front half of the store is packed with long lines to pay. Counter staff are snarky too. It's a pass for me. read more

This Grocery/Food Mart has an excellent assortment of already marinated meats. A fabulous hot food section, cheese and nuts section AND the desserts....they are to die for!! We always try to pop in for anything, literally, when we are in the area. read more

This review is mainly based on their hot-food takeout counter and their bakery goods. My husband and I are huge fans of the takeout counter at Adonis. The bbq beef or chicken dinner brings us here many a weekend night when we are looking for tasty comfort food that we can takeout and eat on the couch while watching Netflix :D The meat is grilled fresh to order and they have an abundance of sides to choose from - all fresh and prepared deliciously. Service is prompt. You can browse the store for the ten minutes it takes for your order to be prepared. The bakery features many unique deserts; cakes, cookies, pastries. We always walk away with a box filled with at least a few tasty selections and have never been let down. We have done SOME grocery shopping while browsing in the store. We don't reside nearby so its not our go-to grocery store. From what I have seen, produce can be hit/miss but they have some exotic selections that are not readily found in other grocery stores, which can be nice. Lots of parking, nice staff, relatively clean store. read more

Another cheap eats find thanks to Joanne L. Stopped by on weekend. We were the first to order cooked fish so only 15 min wait. The gentleman recommended that we get the sea bream and sea bass for the 4 of us. He weighed the fish and showed me the deep fry charge so I had an idea of the cost which came to a cheap $20 for 2 whole fish and lunch for 4. Told us to pay at the cooked food counter 10 feet away. We then went to bistro area and bought drinks from the soda and coffee machines. Shortly after, long lineup at seafood counter and for tables at bistro area. Fish was very fresh and hot. Our family really enjoyed it. Will try grilled fish and octopus next. Got offered free samples of bread, drink and pastry while we waited. Nice change from your everyday chinese supermarket or Costco trip. read more

Its one of my fav super market. Its amazing have many varieties of veg and fruits. Ex. For papers they have probably 10 types. The also have their own products. I like the varieties in everything. And THE PITA BREAD, its another story. They makr is FRESH and u can see how the process of making. Its hot and freash. Meat and chicken is affordable comparing other stores. I love this super market. Its also a great business. You can find all middle Eastern products in one single place, rather than goin to many places, like before. read more

This Adonis store has a very large selection of produce. I love the freshly baked pita bread and the fresh fish. Unfortunately, there is a serious problem with the dairy section. This past Sunday, I bought 14% Beatrice sour cream and it was completely covered with fuzzy mold; also, the double cream Bulgarian feta was squishy and covered in a sticky, yelowish layer of goo. How could the sales person not notice that? As a client, I cannot see that well from 3 feet away. It makes me wonder if this is a practice sanctioned by the management or owner? If not, why are rotten and obviously spoiled products sold to customers? I could not return the items as I live over 25 km away from the store. I am very disappointed to say the least and they have lost me as a customer. If the cheese and sour cream are sold spoiled, where else do they drop the ball? read more

I have been the store out west (Dundas) and in the east (Pharmacy) and have had the same experience: GREAT selection of spices, cheeses, nuts, meat, fish, and shelved groceries but fresh produce often leaves much to be desired - while it looks great it is often too ripe. Highlights: fantastic (and crazy inexpensive) homemade pita (made at the Scarborough store and you can watch it be made and travel along a conveyor belt visible in the middle of the store..so smart). It is thin and soft and if you lots at a time like me (because I don't live anywhere near the stores) you can toss it in the freezer and it truly tastes great once defrosted. Cheeses are incredible (their homemade tzadziki is amazing) and nuts are fresh, fresh. Prepared meals and dishes I have found to be mediocre with a few exceptions (babaganoush is great). That said, the people who work the counters are lovely and eagerly hand you samples so you can try before you buy (hey, just like it used to be in Kensington Market!) read more

great supermarket. big spacious clean. my bf introduced me here and ive been going ever since. the produce and greens are fresh and yhe hot station has killer shawarma. ive noticesit closes early sometimes... so watch out if u have shawarma craving...come early. the deserts are presented beautofully and neved have i seen a plaace so devoted to nuts lol. also a nice fresh bread section. impressive. read more

Probably one of the most expensive grocers in the GTA. They also don't price match anyone. They will tell you to get lost if asking. Avoid!

Since they changed management, the food quality and service are terrible!!! Not going here anymore!! I use to shop here every week, until i started having to throw away sooooo many things after opening them. Rotten meats, bugs in cereal, mold in breads and the staff are so rude. One certain guy at the deli, i have seen him YELL at people, he argued with an elderly lady for no reason. Same guy argued with me after i asked if they sold beef bones for soup. Such a jerk!!! One of the cashiers i had it was her last day, she told me the produce is very bad now after they changed managers. read more

One of my new favorite grocery stores that has a middle eastern twist to it... Everything is available fresh... Even the pita bread that comes out of the oven and right into their packaging... Veggies, fruits, cheeses, meats etc etc wow - everything under one roof at a cheaper price than most grocery stores... And the best part about it (especially for a busy professional like me who has no time to cook)- ready made food!!! Everything from salads to main dishes to appetizers to desserts- it's heavenly!! Highly recommended!!! read more

Large specialized grocery store, leaning towards Balkan, Middle Eastern and Greek fare. The cheese counter is great, as they have a good variety, and surprisingly good specials. Produce is beautiful, but can be pricey. The meat and seafood is not too impressive. Towards the one side of the store is a mini-pita factory, where you can watch the bread riding along a little conveyor belt and going through the oven. The prepared food is hit and miss. I want to give this place 3.5 stars, but I'm feeling generous. read more

Very clean traditional Arabic grocery store. The variety is unbelievable. Anything middle eastern food u can think of they have it. They also have an awesome in-house pita bread machine factory in the store. Their desserts r amazing. Their cheese selection is nice to see. And their meat selection are competitive. They also have a mini resto/bistro where u can eat hot made food. I enjoy the experience everytime i come here. Not ur typical grocery store. U should come n try this at least once no matter what ur background is read more

Great store with lots of Halal options like groceries, ready to eat meals, bakery, fresh meat, seafood, cheese, and more. They always offer some items with very low prices that you will not want to miss. I was amazed to see that they run a pita bread production line inside the store !!! That is a great idea. We tried their babaganoush from the ready to eat section, however, I was not impressed. It was more sour than necessary and I could not get the same flavor that I had at other restaurants. Their ready to eat food choice all look mouth watering all with halal ingredients. Defintely a must see place for anyone with halal diet. read more

I was thrilled to recognize the name from the Montreal Adonis. I had to check it out. On first impression: clean, lots of variety. What I was looking for were products that are common in Montreal but difficult to find here such as: merguez sausage, fresh game meat like rabbit and such. Yes, it's a bit more expensive but it saves me the hassle of going all the way to st Lawrence market for game. I bought fresh bass for dinner for 3$ which is quite affordable. It's not a fast food place, (never was one in Montreal). Middle Eastern on a large scale. Catering to the connaisseur and the chefs that want fresh. Enjoy! read more

If planning on a good piece of fresh meat from that store think again. I did got fooled by the look of a piece marked as "Leg of Lamb" I bought it and stuck it in the freezer right away. Toda, got my biggest surprize when unwrapped it. The majority of it was bones. I did buy legs of lamb many many times before, but never been cheated that way. At Adonis they covered it with a sheet of paper that totally hides the bones that are not part of the leg by any means in a way very clever to fool anyone buying it. and who would drive back to complain?? Included are some pictures. read more
