I called ADI at around 9:45 PM after realizing I left my key locked in my car and Gil arrived at my front door at 10:20 (he was closeby). We were scammed by the company. Avoid at all costs. We called them for two car doors that recently stoped locking/unlocking with two keys that worked just yesterday. One of the two keys were bent, but we were concerned the issue was the lock and not the key. The office said it would be $29 for a tech to come out, but then the tech said it would be $89 sent directly to his Venmo before work started. We then ask the locksmith if they can start with lock lubricant instead of making a key, as they quoted us $185 to make a key with no chip. That's an insane price. They said they were confident the key wasn't the issue, and after a lot of arguing (all caught on our security camera) the tech said that if the key isn't the issue, and it just needed lubricant , he would Venmo us back the $185. He makes the key, and it doesn't work on either door. He starts to tell us it's some issue with the door itself, like a spring or something. I ask him to just try the lubricant like we first asked, then all of the keys worked (including the bent one). We then ask him to Venmo us back the $185 as we don't need the key, and he starts to argue that he already made it. We then argue for a while about how he said if the key wasn't the issue, and it was the lubricant we asked him to start with from the get go, he would refund us (also caught on our security camera). He then gets made and drives off. We called the company and asked for a refund, and they said because he made the key it's non refundable. They said there is no available supervisor to speak with. Avoid this business at all costs. No one should require a personal Venmo payment before service, and if they say that they'll refund you it's a lie. The employee's name is Michael Rogers. read more

AVOID, COSTS MORE THAN QUOTE, UNPROFESSIONAL. I called ADI to get a second key fob for a used car that I had recently purchased. I chose to go with their company because they gave me the lowest estimate of $250, beating their competition. I gave them all of the information about my car (push to start, year, model) and was assured it would cost this much. I was also told that the technician would come to me for this service. Upon calling to schedule, I was directed to a private contractor who made me go to him, which was not part of the deal, then he began to work on my car before giving me a new quote of almost $500 (double the original quote) that I felt pressured into accepting. The service was not even correctly completed during the initial appointment, as they did not have the correct key fob. So I was sent home with the wrong key fob after paying $500 and was told I would be scheduled the following week for the correct key fob. I never received this call. I then had to call them myself after two weeks to make an appointment that day, which was forgotten, had to call back and was told to meet with the man who showed up 1.5 hours later than I was told. When I called the office to hope to have these issues addressed, I was continually told that I would get a call back with a solution or a manager, neither of which I ever received. I called their office several times over the two weeks between my appointments for the same result each time and was eventually blocked. This company is extremely unprofessional and will provide a highly inaccurate quote for the services they will actually charge you for. Do not use this company. read more

Gil at ADI Lock&Key did excellent work above and beyond the call of duty. The bedroom door mechanism failed and the door was locked and closed. Gil was quickly able to open the locked door and allow entry to the room. Finding an adequate replacement mechanism would be challenging because the lock was older, with no manufacture name or part number. The easy thing would just buy a new door handle. Unfortunately our door handles are uniform thruout the house, and are no longer available so keeping the handle was important to my wife and myself. With valiant effort Gil's perseverance found and installed the correct mechanism so we saved our door handle. My wife and I were extremely impressed. We will use ADI Lock&Key again in the future read more

4 stars because they came in 5 minutes of our call and quickly did the repair in about 10 minutes. He was nice and professional. The lock on our sliding glass door broke and needed to be replaced. Getting 4 stars because it is definitely overpriced. $149 for labor for less than 15 minutes of work is ridiculous. At least waive the $29 service call fee if a service is completed. I recognize we probably could have tried to negotiate or haggle but that is just not my favorite thing to do and quite honestly a customer shouldn't have to do that for such quick labor. read more

Had a key stuck in a deadbolt lock. Watched a few YouTube videos to figure out what to do (hold the lock cylinder, lubricate the lock, etc) - it wouldn't budge. I removed the lock from the door and called ADI Lock & Key after reading good reviews here on Yelp. Patrick was fantastic! He inspected the lock, was able to remove the key, was patient, informative and very helpful. Price was extremely reasonable: I cannot recommend this place enough! read more

I sent $100 Venmo to pay for security lock replacement. I was told 24 hours for replacement order and install within 48 hours. Ten days passed by and I made numerous calls; never was I updated. Finally, ten days out the timing was early afternoon spilling into the night. Providers who cannot provide their service nor keep their clients informed should not be supported here in Davis. AVOID ADI AT ALL COSTS!!! I called for a car unlock, telling their receptionist I locked my key in the trunk. They said they'd call a technician to come. A technician named John called me, telling me he'd send someone else. Once the other man came, he only allowed me to pay with Venmo or cash app, then proceeded to set my car alarm off and have to disassemble my car door. For over 2 hours, he struggled to put my car door back together. John then called me, blaming me for not telling him my key was in the trunk (which I told his receptionist) and that he wouldn't have sent the man over if he knew it was there. He offered to come tomorrow morning as my door is completely stuck shut and parts of it are loose, inside my car. There are scratches and dents everywhere. When I said he should refund me and fix my door, he hung up on me. I tried redialing multiple times, but he refused to pick up. I called ADI's front desk multiple times asking for a refund, to which they said "they'd contact the technician" and refused to give me a supervisors contact. I have been waiting over 18 hours for a reply. I have no choice but to pursue legal action. read more

Stunningly terrible. I called to have a lock re-keyed. I had no existing copies of the original keys and explained that explicitly beforehand and was assured that would not be a problem. Lo and behold a technician comes to my home 30min late to the appointment and tells me the work can't be done. However, they can replace the lock itself for only $120! Luckily I'm not brain dead. Thank the technician for his time but wouldn't move through with it. But hang on, there's a service fee JUST for showing up, which I was NEVER told about. Disgusting professionalism and I assume a majority of their business comes from not telling their customers about this service fee. The locksmith arrived quickly and was able to open the door in less than ten minutes. However, they did not wear a mask or gloves and did not obey social distancing. He rudely explained that he believed COVID-19 was a Chinese conspiracy (which, apparently meant to him that he did not have to worry about spreading it to customers).
