Great local spot. Good music, service and food. Definitely a must for burgers and don't forget to have zucchini sticks appetizer.

I'm a big fan of Ader's Tavern! It's a very well run pub/eatery with terrific staff, excellent surroundings, good food, and fare pricing. You can get breakfast lunch or dinner and it will be consistently good. Daily and weekly specials and an interesting mix of cultural diversity on the menu. There is lots of room in this seemingly small place and there is an open air covered deck and a back yard area great for private events and BBQs. Private party rates are fare and the owner is very interested in seeing that your party is a success. I held a giant New Year party there is Year with over 85 guest and a live band and the place still had more room. This may become a New Year tradition, we shall see. Overall if you are in Union Beach you must have an Ader's Burger. Definitely drop in for lunch or dinner. Have a beer and you'll see this place is a hidden gem.

UNION BEACH: a local bar and restaurant, Ader's Tavern has a varied menu with an Italian flair. We sat outside in their cute covered deck and had a really good meal. Brie was offered a water bowl and on this hot day, it was nice to be in the shade. Brie also checked out the Union Beach waterfront, which was so pretty and has a great view of NYC. Dogs are not allowed on the beach or walkway, but there is a sidewalk parallel to it where they are allowed.

Decided to order as they have bangers and mash and that's hard to find in NJ. The French onion soup I ordered came cold, I had to reheat it right away on the microwave. After it was heated it was decent tasting. The bangers and mash were nothing special. Mashed potatoes were lacking flavor, sausage was okay but a little dry. Would've liked to see onions in the gravy but there were none.

Sunday morning...Ader's Tavern...Cheryl's Bloody Mary. NICE!! How does the song go? "Easy like Sunday morning." Topped off with spinach and feta omelet with potatoes to dies for. Love this place. Best chicken rice soup in town. Fresh parsley. Best yet...1/2 price burgers now extended to Include Thursday's!! That's what I'm talking about!!

    Great nachos. Service was great!

Finally tried Lubrano's, had heard good things from friends. Decided to just go the take out route…read moreso no comments on dish presentation. We ordered the Pasta Al Forno as an appetizer & Chicken Scarpariello for the main dish. Was quoted 35-40 min when I called it in, arrived ~30 min, paid & food came out near the 40 min quote. The pasta - for us the cheese on top was perhaps over toasted as it was on the dry side. Flavor was fine otherwise. Not sure I'd order this for a main dish without added protein though. The Chicken Scarp - excellent. The chicken & potatoes were very tender. The mild sausage makes this dish come together, it adds a level of savoriness to complement the balsamic sweetness in the sauce. I also like the long angled slices of sausage nicely seared on each side, it was not expected vs other versions that I've had. Meal also came with bread to soak up that chicken sauce. Also noting the place seemed packed, only 2 spots on their lot were open plus it sounded busy inside. Will try it next time onsite with one of my many fine bottles of wine. :)

From the outside it looks like a simple storefront but on the inside, it was a beautifully decorated restaurant. We were welcomed and seated promptly. The server came over and greeted us and asked if we had a bottle for her to open, which we didn't. Unbeknownst to us the restaurant is BYOB. When we shared that it was our first time there she gave us some time to look at the menu. I ended up ordering shrimp parm with linguini, and I asked for the linguini to have white sauce as opposed to the red sauce. She brought over water, a bread basket and bruschetta for the table. I usually prefer lime with my water. They didn't have lime, but she did bring over lemon wedges. While waiting for our meal my company had to step out and by the time the food arrived they weren't back. I asked the sever if I could get a plate to cover their food and she was super accommodating. Upon my companies return the server, even offered to reheat the food for them, which I thought was a nice touch. We declined, but we were still appreciative of the option. My food was very delicious. The white sauce for the linguini was amazing. One of the better Alfredo sauces I've had in this lifetime. The shrimp Parmesan was so so. I felt like it could've used maybe a little bit more seasoning but honestly paired with the pasta. I had no complaints. The restaurant definitely has a family feel and I got the impression that a lot of the patrons are regulars. I don't live in the area, but if I'm ever there again, I would certainly return.

Upon entering, we were told it was recently renovated. Being that I didn't know what it looked like before the renovation, this place looks very upscale. We were given two sets of menus. One was their regular menu, which is good for both lunch and dinner. The other menu had the lunch sandwich menu. The waitress indicated that the sandwiches come in two different types of bread: focaccia and Italian. I was not very hungry, so I ordered the Parma with focaccia bread, as my friend ordered the Cheese steak on Italian bread. We were then given a bread basket with whipped butter. My friend stated the bread was fresh and good, but she was hoping for the olive oil. Shortly after placing our orders, our sandwiches arrived. I was a little surprised as my Parma appeared more like flatbread than the thicker, fluffier focaccia I had expected. I didn't want to make a fuss in front of my friend, so I simply ate it. The sandwich was tasty, but I wished it had been warmed, as that would have better married the flavors and elevated the overall experience. My friend's cheese steak was huge, as the skirt steak was plentiful, and the cheese leaked out a bit, making it look remarkable. I inquired how it tasted, and she stated it was good. She just wished it had a bit more onions to break up the taste of the meat. We each ordered a cappuccino, and that was truly the highlight of the meal. The 6-ounce cappuccino came with 4 small biscotti, which paired well with the beverage. Neither of us used any sugar, and the cappuccino was excellent. The ratio between the espresso, steamed milk, and milk foam was perfectly rich in both taste and texture. I can't stop raving about it. Service was very good, and the food was enjoyable. The ambiance was chic. My rating is 3 1/2 stars, though I have rounded it up to 4 stars.

For appetizers, we got zucchini chips, fried calamari and mussels. The calamari was fried too hard and it had a very salty, spicy Chilean type sauce over it. The zucchini chips were thinly sliced, lightly battered with Parmesan cheese sprinkled over them. They were decent but nothing to write home about. In fact, after having about six or seven of the zucchini chips I began to experience heartburn from the grease. For entrees, my husband had the chicken parm. He said it was too thick and should have been flattened more before frying. It was also very breaded. My brother-in-law ordered the chicken and waffles and he said the chicken tasted day old so after having a bite of one piece of the chicken he pushed the chicken aside and called it a day. I called the waiter over and informed him about the chicken tasting day old. He didn't try to change it out or take it off the bill or get a manager. He just apologized by saying I'm sorry. My crab Mac and Cheese was decent. It wasn't seasoned the way I would have liked but the huge, plentiful chunks of crab made up for that. I ate a third of my dish and packed the rest for home where I will doctor it up to my taste. I've never been to this particular restaurant before. The only reason we came today is because my brother-in-law was here on business and staying at a hotel in the area.
