Very authentic! When the waitress speaks broken English, and most customers are Latino, I know I come to the right place. It opened since 1998, survived through Pandemic, It means something, people!!! We had menudo and tacos. The beef tongue and beef tenderloine tacos are marvelous. Food, service and ambiance was excellent! We stopped by after visiting Meow Wolf and this place did not disappoint. We had delicious margaritas paired with oysters, menudo and a quesadilla! We came at the perfect time as the beautiful ladies showed up to play music! My wife and I went there for dinner. Got seated right away. The wait staff was friendly and good. My biggest problem with this place is that the table smelled of dirty bleach water. I despise when this happens - and frankly it's way too often! Why are restaurants so cheap that they don't change the soap/bleach water and rags? That ruined the meal for us. I ordered chips and salsa, the while I enjoy a little heat, this salsa was way too hot. I asked for some salsa verde but they did not have any. Our waiter did bring some green salsa which was fine. We stopped in on a whim and I'm so glad we did! This restaurant is adorable and the staff were all incredibly friendly. I had the Navajo taco and it was delicious! The fry bread was heavier and denser than I'm used to, but the flavor of the toppings more than made up for that. My husband had the quesabirria tacos, which he said were the best he's ever had. Such a cute southwestern decor I did not have a great feeling when I walked in being out of town for business. The girl looks me over and says table for two no one.. it took about five minutes to take my order. The Margarita was so so with so much Taheen on it. I was so excited to have Mexican food in New Mexico and this delivered on that! My sisters and I came here and enjoyed a variety of things. My favorite was the Sandia Margarita, which was so fresh and flavorful and tasted exactly like sweet summer watermelon. The portions were huge, and the rice was especially delicious. We enjoyed a quesadilla appetizer, then chicken tacos and a chimichanga. Our service was good; we also went at 4:30 on a Thursday so we pretty much had the space to ourselves. After reading the reviews I was extremely nervous. Here are the final results. - The chips were literally the most stale I have ever had. I would highly recommend serving warm and fresh. It's the first sign of whats to come. - The tampiqueña was surprisingly good. Basic grill meat but with lime and the beans, made up for alot. - Stop charging more for cards. It's 2024 and the fees should not have to be covered by the customer. - garnish charge of $1.50 for limes. Really? Sat at the bar which wasn't very comfortable. No place for knees which made it difficult to eat. Appreciated there were hangers for purses. Had an Indian Taco/ Christmas which was very good. Nice and hot. Preferred the green over the red. An older lady took my order and did check on me once. Other than that I wasn't particularly impressed with service. I had read so many reviews and was excited to try this restaurant. I grew up in the Los Angeles area and am no stranger to Mexican food. We were asked to sit in the patio area because we had our two pups with us. No problem, we understand. Our waitress brought out two glasses of water for us, a basket of delicious chips and salsa along with our menus. My husband ordered and got a cerveza. Then we waited for her to return to take our order. We waited and waited and waited. It started getting dark on the outdoor patio. We still hadn't ordered.
