Very authentic! When the waitress speaks broken English, and most customers are Latino, I know I come to the right place. It opened since 1998, survived through Pandemic, It means something, people!!! We had menudo and tacos. The beef tongue and beef tenderloine tacos are marvelous. You can taste the original meat flavor rather than the seasoning. Menudo is my favorite. Large portion, lots of tripes. I want to try the tripas (guts) tacos but my boyfriend refused. If you ever go after seeing my review, please try it for me. One thing to notice: They charge a fee if you pay credit card, and it's not indicated anywhere. Food, service and ambiance was excellent! We stopped by after visiting Meow Wolf and this place did not disappoint. We had delicious margaritas paired with oysters, menudo and a quesadilla! We came at the perfect time as the beautiful ladies showed up to play music! My wife and I went there for dinner. Got seated right away. The wait staff was friendly and good. My biggest problem with this place is that the table smelled of dirty bleach water. I despise when this happens - and frankly it's way too often! Why are restaurants so cheap that they don't change the soap/bleach water and rags? That ruined the meal for us. I ordered chips and salsa, the while I enjoy a little heat, this salsa was way too hot. I asked for some salsa verde but they did not have any. Our waiter did bring some green salsa which was fine. We stopped in on a whim and I'm so glad we did! This restaurant is adorable and the staff were all incredibly friendly. I had the Navajo taco and it was delicious! The fry bread was heavier and denser than I'm used to, but the flavor of the toppings more than made up for that. My husband had the quesabirria tacos, which he said were the best he's ever had. First off, food--yummy! Really good, very authentic. You have to pay for salsa & chips which I never like--but the salsa was on point. I was so excited to have Mexican food in New Mexico and this delivered on that! My sisters and I came here and enjoyed a variety of things. My favorite was the Sandia Margarita, which was so fresh and flavorful and tasted exactly like sweet summer watermelon. The portions were huge, and the rice was especially delicious. We enjoyed a quesadilla appetizer, then chicken tacos and a chimichanga. Our service was good; we also went at 4:30 on a Thursday so we pretty much had the space to ourselves. I had read so many reviews and was excited to try this restaurant. I grew up in the Los Angeles area and am no stranger to Mexican food. We were asked to sit in the patio area because we had our two pups with us. No problem, we understand. Our waitress brought out two glasses of water for us, a basket of delicious chips and salsa along with our menus. My husband ordered and got a cerveza. Then we waited for her to return to take our order. We waited and waited and waited. It started getting dark on the outdoor patio. We still hadn't ordered. My husband went on to get the waitress' attention. She nodded politely. She never got our order for the combo after and the fish taco plate. We got tired of waiting in the dark so we left.
