It is nice to be able to get a delicious steak right here in our town. Our waitress Kaya was friendly and did not steer us wrong. The food was plated beautifully and was cooked to our expectations. We will return! read more

I had the ribeye and my wife had seafood risotto. Those were pretty good, but nothing that really wowed us. We also had the grilled avocado as an appetizer which was very good. Their house made cocktails were phenomenal though. It was a little loud in there for a steakhouse and wasn't expecting TVs, however it was still nice inside. We will definitely come back to try other things on the menu here as it proved itself worthy coming back. read more

Let me start by saying the food was great! but the waitress that we had ruined our whole experience she was rude and sarcastic. I'm 46 years old and I have never not tipped even when I receive less than great service. But after you are greeted with Sarcasm because I asked her to split the checks and then when the checks were wrong she got loud and defensive and said if we don't like it don't come back, instead of simply just getting a manager to dissolve the situation she escalated the situation. No problem solving skills what so ever. Then accused us of being the "type of people" who just make a fuss so that we don't have to tip is totally ridiculous! My colleagues and I travel all over the country for work and our company pays for our meals (hence why we needed the checks split) so there's no money shortage and we are encouraged to tip generously because we do find ourselves in new environments. I have never experienced anything like this in my life and I am still in disbelief at the way we were treated. read more

First off, if you read Patrick H's review, it's a lie, a grossly over exaggerated review which is downright false. I was sitting at a table right next to the 3 women and this is not how the incident went down. The 3 women were very condescending and RUDE to the waitress when she made a mistake on the BILL which was being split 3 ways. A simple, hey part of her bill is on my bill can you please correct it? Nope, not these ladies- Not one mention of bacon or any other BS this guy is saying. We heard it ALL. After they left we made sure to let the waitress and manager know they were lying and we heard the whole thing. This little ploy had nothing to do with them being black, it had to do with them looking for a way to NOT LEAVE A TIP. It was obvious. What Patrick also failed to say in his review is how they wrote all over the receipts nasty comments like "Eat shit and die". They thought that was appropriate? Absolutely uncalled for. Obviously they have a "habit" of causing problems at restaurants. Thins is their "thing". This was our first time eating here and had great food and great service. The drinks were amazing too. If you choose not to visit this restaurant due to Patricks FALSE review, shame on you and you will be missing out. read more

After calling around with our original father's day plans needing to be changed I was surprised to hear that they were able to give us a party of 7 reservations. I called around 5 and was told that we could make them for anytime after 6. I choose 6:30 and was excited to take the family out. When we arrived the place was packed which didn't surprise me but when the guy at the service desk took my name, looked up my reservation, looked around the restaurant then told me "yeah it looks like we are all full so it's going to be 45 minutes to an hour wait" I was a bit upset. I could understand a few minutes waiting on people leaving that was taking a while longer than expected but an hour? Why did they bother taking the reservation if they obviously sat someone shortly before our arrival at that table? Highly disappointed with this action and the lack of concern and approach from the staff about it. read more

Ordered the filet Oscar and it was delicious. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal. Will come again.

We had a very nice meal and the ambiance was wonderful on the patio. We enjoyed the bar area at the end of our night, also and the staff was very attentive. We look forward to going back. read more

We start the evening on a high note in the restaurant and I was told promptly to move into the bar if you wanted to have the martini specials so we sat at the bar we had an awesome bartender her name is Kelly . We asked about the specials and we settled on two entrées I had the sirloin steak that was supposed to be thick and rare with mashed potatoes and a salad my husband had the monkfish and it was served over garlic mashed potatoes. Aa we're waiting for our food to be prepared we noticed that we had a clear shot of the kitchen and then I saw a runner was eating off the line scratching his beard and picking his nose then another waiter/runer that walked in and started talking to the group as she was eating off the line as well. I complained to the staff and the manager came out promptly removed the people from the kitchen but they still charge me for my meal I could not eat I will never go back again read more

My wife ordered a small filet. It came as ordered but she asked for mushrooms and got mashed potatoes. They did bring the mushrooms about halfway through the meal. I ordered the Seafood Risotto. It was OK though the scallops were very chewy. I ordered a beer that was on the specials menu for $3.00 but was charged $6.50. The waiter seemed to forget we were there. Took almost 10 minutes to place our order. I do not think we will come back. read more

This was our second time at Addison's. The chicken, lemon, rice soup was so tasty. We've had the pork, salmon and steaks on our visits. All were equally delicious. They have a variety of side dishes. We highly recommend Addison's Steakhouse. read more

Our server Kelly was awesome ! Friendly and offering suggestions on popular items. Their house lemon chicken rice soup is amazing ! We had the prime rib special and a filet - both cooked to perfection - paired with grilled asparagus and grilled pepper medley. Finished off our meal with strawberry cheesecake and I had chocolate coffee martini hand made by Kelly - outstanding ! Can't wait to come back :-) read more

Here's the over/under. It's overpriced and underwhelming. I think our waiter was the owner's dad? Not sure. Slow, inattentive, and not a good multitasker. 18 minutes to order drinks, 39 minutes to order food. Salad - Bagged for sure, but they did take the time to throw a grape tomato in, yes, one grape tomato. Calamari was ok. Chili sauce was probably Sweet Baby Ray's Sweet Chili? It was the smallest portion I've ever seen for $12. Definitely not for 4 people. The sauted shrimp in spinach over angel hair I thought was fine, but my daughter said it had a strange taste and was slimly. She only ate the shrimp. I had a rib eye steak that ended up medium, not med-rare. Whatever, I can eat it. The mashed potatoes were decent, but you really have to try hard to screw that up. The "creamed" spinach is not creamed. It was more of a thick broth. I have never seen my wife NOT finish an 8oz. filet. Again, "strange taste".On the sorta upside she enjoyed the half of bacon cheese burger that my son didn't finish, but I don't think you're supposed to enjoy a burger better than a steak. If I had known, I could have saved $159.00 and just gone to Bulldog's... read more

After 2 visits of good service and food we decided it was the place to go for Valentines Day. We knew it would be busier than usual. But. After an hour and a half after ordering our food we still had not gotten our entrees. We sat at the bar and another couple sat at the end of the bar maybe 20 minutes later. They received their food first. A few minutes later the bartender said they are plating ours now. Another 5/10 minutes later still no food. We decided to leave as they obviously lied to us about the plating of the food. Only saving grace they didn't charge us for the appetizer or soup and a beer. There excuse was of course valentines being busy but the excuse why the other couple got their food first was "we cannot control the kitchen". Sadly now there is no where near us to get a good steak as we will not be returning. read more

We eat here all the time! Gourmet food is always delicious and the staff is friendly and quick to respond. I LOVE their steak salad and my husband's favorite is pork medallions. Cute outside eating area, too! read more

Great meal last night! We went to celebrate my daughter's engagement and we really enjoyed the food. I had the Scallop Appetizer and my Scallops were huge. I also had the Ultimate Steak Salad which was great as well. If you want good food (much better than bar food) in a nice atmosphere with TV's galore, this is the place. read more

We had dinner here as a family and we were happy with the service and quality of food. McHenry needs more fine dining locations like Addison's. read more

I took my family out for a steak dinner at this place yesterday. The fact that McHenry now has a steakhouse is a good thing. McHenry is a desert for nice places to eat. But, in my opinion, this was very average family restaurant food (maybe like Village Squire in Crystal Lake, but not as nice inside) located in a strip mall, a local diner atmosphere at much more upscale steakhouse prices. The booth I sat in was mismatched to the table so the table was literally at the top of my chest. Basically, I had a $17.99 diner steak for $30.00. read more

Amazing! My husband took me here and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality, quantity, and service. My steak was just as good as Ruth Chris if not better and cheaper. I would definitely recommend. Family friendly as well. My daughter loved her chicken tenders. read more

This was our first time at this restaurant. (My fiancé and myself). We were seated right away. Great start. And there we sat. For 20 minuets . No menus, drinks or even a greeting. There was however, half torn bread at our table, which looked like someone tried it before us. A girl that wasn't our waitress kept saying "sorry we're really busy" My fiancé had to ask a different worker rushing past us for silverware since we had nothing at our table. Finally someone noticed we were there after 30 minuets. Ordered drinks and an appetizer and again we sat for another 20 minuets. After an hr and 20 minutes we got our entree . Mine was good. But not worth what we paid or waited for by far. My fiancé wasn't happy with his at all. We each had steak and I added a lobster tail. Obviously at market price. Which was shockingly $30! Just for the lobster tail. In McHenry. It wasn't staffed properly, cost was obscene. Service was awful. Except for our waitress Allison. She was really fun, attentive and positive. She was the only reason my review isn't 1 star. I'll never come back but... she was great read more

Glasses were dirty, wait staff uncaring, rude, slow, poor quality food! Salad was wilted, tomatoes were wrinkled from age, onions dried out, there were of us and we got 3 small pieces of bread with rock hard butter served to us. We left before main course as the staff was unprofessional, rude and extremely slow. read more

Best crab cakes! Excellent service.. beautiful decor. Food was great! I will be back!

Loved the grilled chicken salad with the balsamic vinaigrette. I am looking forward to trying more on their menu.

A group of six of us went to dinner and had a 7:00 reservation. We were seated right when we arrived and the place was packed. Our server (wish I could remember her name!) was very knowledgeable and pleasant. I had the Rosemary Pork Medallions. Boneless pork served over mashed potatoes with a mushroom sauce and it was awesome. The pork was cooked perfectly and the overall flavor was outstanding. Two others had the chicken Marsala and loved it. The Calamari appetizer I'm told (not my thing) was one of the best cooked they've had. I would definitely return! read more

There were 5 of us, on a Sunday at 5pm. We waited 10 minutes at the bar and never even got to order a drink b/c all the sudden the bar tender was missing (there were only 2 other people sitting at the bar). Got to our table, still took another 10 minutes for the waiter to come over and take our drink order. Service was slow all night. Ordered appetizers, they were fine. Ordered our food, the steak that I ordered medium came out well done. I didn't want to send it back but after chewing endlessly on a piece of a $30 cut of meat, I decided to get a new one. They did expedite it by butterflying it, which was fine. We had 3 separate checks. When the bill came I added a $10 off $80 coupon. When the waiter ran the cards (which took about another 10 minutes), he ran my bill on my friends card and vice versa. Thankfully me and my friend just figured out the difference and took care of it in cash, otherwise that would have been a nightmare. Also, when he came back, he said "someone put a coupon in here; it says right on there not valid on weekends". and I took it and showed him where it said, it says not valid on Friday and Saturdays after 4pm (it was Sunday), and all he said was oh, sorry. He didn't take that off my bill or do anything else. After very slow service (almost 3 hours for dinner), an overcooked steak, running the wrong card for 2 of the 3 bills, and then not taking my coupon that was valid... we will not be back. The food was good (after they re-cooked my steak), but there are much better places that will pay attention to their customers, cook the food correctly, and honor their coupons. The coupon is not a big deal, but it's the principle. Don't put the coupon out there and then not honor it. I get that I returned a $30 cut of meat, but they didn't cook it correctly, that is not my fault. I was super excited about a nice steakhouse in McHenry, but now I see why there were only 4 other tables of people in there, the entire 3 hours. Maybe we just got them a bad night, I'm not sure, but I won't be back to find out. read more

We tried Addison's steakhouse and was very disappointed. The food was not very good; we had the lobster tacos, stuffed shrimp and steak. I'll eat just about anything but this was the first time I left without eating anything. The bill with 1 drink and tip was about 70 dollars. There was an attempt to offer something else but no attempt to be compensated. We were polite when were there and left in a polite manner. We also paid our bill, and tipped our waitress. I feel reviews help people conserve their hard earned money and avoid restaurant experiences like ours. read more

My husband & I wanted to try a local steakhouse. We came around 5pm on a Sunday evening. The place was nearly empty but for the video gamers but filled up more as we were eating. We were greeted right away & waitress got us settled in with drinks & bread quickly. We ordered the grlled avocado. It was excellent & enough for two. I ordered the flat iron steak - cooked medium rare with garlic mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus & cup of mushroom soup. The waitress asked if I wanted to dress up the garlic mashed potatoes with bacon, cheese, etc.. Ok I said. My husband ordered the scallops on a bed of rice, grilled asparagus & cup of mushroom soup. The soup came first & it was pretty good. Then came our main dishes. The flat iron steak was disappointing. It wasn't medium rare - but "medium" as it wasn't "rare pink" in the middle, more "medium pink". The garlic mashed potatoes were good "doctored up" but was charged extra for the "dressing up" which I did not see on the menu. The asparagus was "woody" that even my husband wasn't happy with. His scallops were 4 large ones, & cooked well. I ordered the 4 layer chocolate fudge cake were they "dressed up" with drizzled dark & white chocolate syrup & drizzled over a spoonful of whipped cream. The cake was OK. I admit I'm not much of a dessert person. In retrospect, the flat iron steak was a inch thick which probably could not be cooked medium rare. The steak was too thin for that. Our bill was over $120 which included 3 beers. I guess that's the going rate but wish the flat iron steak was better. We'll try Jameson in crystal lake next time just for a comparison. read more

This place is alright. It is very overpriced for the quality of the food and it's just not that great. I could get a better steak at Outback Steakhouse. And for a better price. We've been here twice and have gotten two different meals. The first time, the steak wasn't very juicy and the lemon butter sauce we had over it basically ruined it. Second time we were there, I had Marsala. It was very goopy and lacked in quality and care of the food. And the service..... first time was great. Forgot her name but she was a younger girl and was very bubbly and attentive. Second time not so much. After we finished eating we were sitting there for 20 minutes waiting to ask for the check and some water. To get the attention of the waitress, I had to stand up and go to the back door and peer into the kitchen for her to notice we had been waiting. Granted, they were closing up but we were finished eating 15-20 minutes before their close time anyway. But at the same time, there were only 3-4 tables filled in the place at the time. We probably won't give this place another go. read more

Best steak I've ever had in a steak house. Perfect, succulent medium rare with a pleasing, carmelized outside. Excellent choice of compound butters. Sides were the standard offerings you'd expect from a steak house. I would enjoy some unexpected sides on the menu, but I can't blame them for sticking to the tried and true. It seems to be the formula for successful steak houses, and McHenry isn't exactly a mecca for adventurous eaters (I am clearly an aberration). That said, the quality of their sides was very good. Bread was fine, but they have an opportunity to up their game in their bread program. Their house pinot noir was terrific, as was the service. Simple, clean, relaxed ambience, with rustic industrial decor. A world class steak and excellent experience overall. Surprised to find such a great steak in McHenry! I only wish they had comfortable chairs in the back bar. Then they could be a Hawks destination too! read more

Excellent service, great bartenders, food was served fast despite it being a very busy night, nice decor, prices surprisingly reasonable. The food LOOKED absolutely stunning but honestly was very bland. Had a mushroom swiss Burger that was beautifully cooked(ordered medium rare which at most places MIGHT get you a medium, this was the real deal though) but was almost entirely devoid of flavor. Meat seemed totally unseasoned and where they got swiss that doesn't taste swissy I can't imagine. My friend had a steak(forget what cut) that was also done to perfection but was just a very tasteless piece of meat even with the flavored butter she ordered on the side. Fries were strange, very crunchy even though they weren't over done. Not sure how they achieved that but it wasn't something I'm a fan of. And again, fairly flavorless. I'd go back to try it again as it is very newly opened. I find new restaurants can take a little time to hit their stride. I'd definitely recommend going to the bar for drinks anyways. read more
