First of all - the service. Lauren was AMAZING, we loved her. She is the best. We came to Addison's for lunch and got the nachos appetizer, which was huge! We got the small portion and it was definitely not small. We had a party of 5 and we couldn't finish them it was so much food! We ordered Cesar salads for main courses and they were also huge! Our youngest son got a kids burger which came on an upside down frisbee instead of a plate and he LOVED that. This place is great, friendly little lunch spot! read more

This was actually the worst meal I've ever had. We had a huge group, so almost everything on the brunch menu was ordered. One person tried to order a burger and add bacon and a fried egg, they said they only have scrambled eggs...should have known this was a red flag that they don't use real eggs. The bacon was rancid, lettuce in salads were brown, the fries came out cold, all around a terrible meal. Everything was clearly frozen food. The real crime? Every entree is $17-26. Recently hosted a presentation here. Private room was awesome. Large projection screen with 10' HDMI and power nearby. Hi tech dimmable lights and ceiling fan. Solid doors for sound insulation from regular guests. Service was on point with timing and adapted to a slight change in program without issue. Food was tremendous. Our clients were all very happy. The management seems to be lacking in many ways. For example phones are big no buts it's quite hypocritical when you go and see servers and hosts doing there job but then managers going around not paying attention and just walking around on there phone. Have seen management and have heard managers are not good to there employees. The food is overrated and overpriced. From my experience not worth working there or worth eating there!! read more

We finally tried this location for the first time on a Friday evening. We met up with some friends are were seated pretty quickly. The service was good overall, the waitress was friendly. We were excited to try the south location and see the differences between the two. - Dirty martini (4/5): they have a martini menu, but all of the martinis are sweet! I had to get the dirty and it was good, with olives! - Super deluxe happy fun time burger (3.5/5): the burger was good, pretty juicy, lots of toppings. The onion straws added a nice crunch. There was lots of sauce, very flavorful. Fries were good just a bit greasy, love the crispy pieces. - Baked tortellini pasta (3/5): good flavor but too salty for my taste. The pesto sauce was very creamy and savory, with good flavor but just too salty. Tortellini were tasty. Overall would come back for the fun atmosphere and good appetizers. read more

My wife and I decided to stop for dinner before leaving Columbia and I found Addison's on Google so we thought we would give it a try. The restaurant was busy when we arrived on a Saturday night, but we were seated immediately. Our server, Victoria, was awesome! She was friendly and took great care of us and did the other employees we encountered. I ordered the chicken Asiago pasta and a Caesar salad. My wife ordered the hamburger with cucumber salad as the side. My salad arrived quickly. The salad had great flavor and the lettuce and croutons were fresh. Shortly after finishing my salad, our entrees arrived. My pasta was piping hot and looked great. My wife enjoyed the burger and cucumber salad. The pasta had great flavor and was quite filling. The restaurant was very clean and had a nice date night look, but also casual enough to wear jeans and a hoodie. If we come back to Columbia ,we would definitely go back to Addison's South. I just hope Victoria would be there to take care of us! read more

Yikes. This place has gone waaaay downhill since I last went there a few years ago. The menu hasn't changed a bit in thirty years, so you'd think they'd have it down by now, but apparently not. Addison's was always solid, if unspectacular, for a long time, despite its ancient, untouched menu, so I figured I knew what I was in for when I ordered the Mediterranean pizza last night, something I've eaten there many times over the years. What I got was a wet, sloppy, undercooked mess, not the Mediterranean pizza I remember from countless visits over the years. It was smaller, not cooked thoroughly, and the ingredients seemed to be of lower quality than they used to be. And so much water on the plate. Gross. I would've sent it back, but I already sent back the soggy, cold fries they brought as our appetizer and I just wanted dinner to be over and done with so we could go home. I've been to Addison's, both locations, many times over the years, but last night was my final visit. Not good, guys. read more

Nothing special. The food was below average. The service adequate. Ambiance was cold.

We came here soon after they re-opened after COVID, and was generally impressed by their operations. It was storming the day we came, and they were quick to move people from outside in. They blocked off a section of their dining room and seated every other booth. However, people were seated at tables right next to each other. Kinda defeats the social distancing if you close a huge section of the restaurant and put people right next to each other. Our waitress was very accomodating and nice. As usual, we got the nachos blancio and thai chicken salad. Both are delicious - we talk about it all the time. I want to try their dessert next time! Keep on hearing great things and the table next to us got some. Looked incredible. Plenty of parking and outdoor seating with a roof. read more

I usually love addisons for it's laid back no fuss vibes. I recently dinned in and ordered take out from this location and it was great. The same experience as the downtown location but more lowkey and quiet at night. The building is new so it is extremely clean which is always a plus. The location is also great because I'm on the southside of town a lot so now i don't have to go out of the way for food downtown! I recently tried the french dip and is soo good especially with mojito fries. Highly recommend! read more

Recently Addison's must have undergone some changes in the kitchen with the cook staff. They need to change back to whatever or whoever was the cook before because the taste quality has taken a hit. I haven't ever had a bad experience at Addison's South! As a college student, this is one of my favorite places to go for lunch when my parents come to visit. I've had the tortellini, and the pulled pork sandwich and they were both amazing! The servers and hostesses are always extremely nice and helpful. Definitely a mixed bag here. First of all, there's ample parking. No really, they've got more parking than they have seating for if I had to guess, so don't worry about trying to find a spot, you'll be just fine. Came in as a group of 9 on a Saturday evening around 7 and our table was waiting for us (made a reservation ahead of time). We got amazing service the entire time. Being able to start the experience with Guinness & a woodford reserve was sublime. The food started with the Garlic & Brown Sugar brined buffalo wings and the flavor was unique, but not exactly $12 worth amazing; solidly a "B". Buddy and I split the Nachos Bianco (Big) and it was a large plate brimming with chorizo, black beans, cheese, kalamatas, & peppers of deliciousness on a bed of unique chips that were slightly softer than traditional corn tortilla chips (Note: This is a full meal size portion for a normal human); graded out at an "A". For the main course I went with the Port Wine Bordelaise Filet and it was outstanding...cooked a bit more medium/medium well than the medium rare that I asked for, but the flavor of the steak itself was amazing and the port wine bordelaise was quite possibly the best "sauce" I've ever had on a steak; also grades to an "A" (and unlike the wings, a fairly solid value at $24). Finished the meal with the brownie batter cheesecake and as a cheesecake connoisseur, let me tell you that this is "A+" territory with the texture, flavor, and portion (quite large). So how in the world with a fantastic meal and service do we end up with 3 stars? How about a rude manager. As our group was having a great time with stories and laughs commiserating the day we'd had, the manager blasted out "I need you all to quiet down". This rubbed me the wrong way for 2 reasons. Firstly, this place is a bar and grill type joint (though admittedly is more intimate than your run of the mill Applebee's) where having worked in this type of environment before, I can tell you we weren't exceeding the acceptable level of noisiness. Secondly, this isn't how you approach this situation if you're a manager. "Praise in public, correct in private": She should've spoken with the leader of our group who made the reservation and is friends with the chef and asked if we could please keep the volume down. That, or she could've seated us back in one of the private dining rooms. Either of those things would've been significantly better customer service moves vs just blasting "I need you all to quiet down" for the rest of the patrons to hear. When I come to a restaurant and elect to spend (with tip) very nearly $100; I expect & deserve better treatment than that. read more

The restaurant was marvelous, gave us a private room for 20 people and a champagne toast. This was all done with only two day's notice. The staff was very, very attentive, friendly and helpful. The food was great. This is a highly recommended place to eat and celebrate. read more

FINE CITY DINING ON AN AVERAGE TUESDAY For this week's exploit we enjoyed a late evening dinner at Addison's South. The first thing I noticed was the beautiful construction and interior decoration. The vibes were fine dining meets modern tavern. This restaurant features three sections: booths, collected tables,and a full bar featuring multiple flat screen TVs. We were greeted by a hostess and taken to a booth. The booth section catered to couples and small family groups. I appreciated this since I was dining with my kids and Booths offer a more controlled environment. Nothing is more disruptive to EVERYONE than trying to keep a kid in the chair when trying to enjoy your meal. In comparison, the tables section was FULL with well-dressed socializing adults. This is a kudos to the restaurant given this was a Tuesday evening, and location. Assuming the plenitude of customers was a factor, when the food arrived we were more than ready to enjoy our meal. (Dining tip: If dining with the family, order appetizers and kids meals at the same time) I ordered my steak medium and asparagus and IT WAS DELICIOUS. Eat with your eyes closed good. And I am picky about my steak. If I don't like it I assume the cooks aren't attentive to food preparation. But as you can tell from the photos presentation and flavor quality was ~*~ Top Tier~*~ Good job Addison's South I will be returning (for social dining) and can't wait to try one of those exquisite sounding burgers!!! We have been to Addison's South twice recently and both experiences were great. The first was MU's graduation weekend. We were worried about getting 18 of us into a restaurant, even mid-afternoon. They were able to seat us quickly and the food was great. We were very pleased. Then again last week three of us went for dinner. Even at peak evening times, the wait was reasonable, the drinks and food were great. Wait staff were also quite personable. We will definitely be back! read more

I had a craving for my favorite Addison's meal, Rosemary Salmon w/ cheesy new potatoes, so I thought I would get it carry-out for dinner. I don't get it very often as it's an expensive dish; it's an occasional rare treat. Upon ordering, I was asked if I was ok with a 15% gratuity for take out. I thought that was a bit high considering I'm driving to the the location to pick it up, but I agreed as the meal is so good. When I arrived, I headed to the bar to retrieve my order and pay. The food was sitting there, waiting for me. I proceeded to wait for 6 minutes as my food got cold because the bartender was busy talking to customers seated at the bar. I'm all for good customer service, but if someone comes in and stands at the bar looking at you, obviously they are there for something that requires the bartender's attention. Personally (as I've experienced work in customer service and at restaurants before), I would typically excuse myself momentarily to wait on other customers. She didn't though, and I patiently waited until someone from the back came to the bar and asked if I need help. He gave me my lukewarm food, took my payment, and sent me on my way. Very frustrating, as they weren't busy and clearly the bartender could see me waiting. I don't mind paying a gratuity, but it's supposed to be for good service. I don't appreciate having to pay an additional fee just to be ignored. I would be more understanding if the bartender was busy, but she wasn't. Just too busy to cut her conversation for a minute or two. I don't agree with being required to tip for bad service. Sadly, I won't return to Addison's again. read more

We received great service and were seated quickly at the bar. Unfortunately the food was not great. The sweet potatoes chips and calamari had sauce that had a strange taste. The food was pretty bland and not my preference. They claim to have a gluten free menu which is why we went there. However, the gluten free items are just options without bread. Went to addisons for the first time and was so freaking impressed. We got the nachos as an appetizer and they are to die for. I have never had anything like them and they were amazing. I also had the addisons burger and it was amazingly cooked. I had no complaints! My boyfriend got the bbq chicken pizza and he loved it! We were so excited when we found out that the new construction near our home was going to be a new restaurant. When Addison South opened in January 2019 we immediately braved the crowds for in house dining and take-out. The food and service was marginal at best but we continued to give it a chance to improve, it did not! In fact it got worse! Wrong take out orders, under cooked meats or cremated meat, long waits in the dinning room and outside patio. For a moderately expensive restaurant to price a 6 oz. burger for $15 is nuts since d'Rowes and 44 Stone Pub have a half pound burger under $10.......enough said!!! We have stopped going for a meal at Addison's South and now drive the extra 10-20 minutes to other great restaurants in the Columbia area! read more

We ordered carryout food in the evening. Placing our order over the phone was very easy, they said the food would be ready in about 20 minutes. We went to pick it up and they came out straight away with the food. It was hot and delicious. read more

Went for brunch and food was great with exception of the breakfast nachos. Said it had gravy on them but we didn't see it and ask for some. They said it would be an extra $1.50. So they were a little dry. Everything else was excellent and the service was great. read more
