4 stars because service was VERY long. Atmosphere reminds me of senior citizen home but the food was nothing like that! Firstly the rookie ousters were delicious and well spruced up with seasonings and onions. I really enjoyed it. There was bo fresh ocean taste which is a plus. Main meal was the lamb chops which were tender and creamy mashed potatoes. My table ordered the lobster mac and cheese for us all to share. It was missing something in the flavoring, it was just very bland. I wanted to like it but it did not do it for me. Brussel sprouts were the veggie of the day. Not a huge fan but these were steamed on some sauce which I enjoyed.

We visited this place for the first time this evening and let me tell you- it wasn't the greatest experience. When we first walked in, we immediately noticed large dark stains on the old, red carpet. The place also had a smell like a nursing home. It needs remodeled badly. There was only one person working that we could see, she sat us, she got our drinks, and eventually brought the food. Since she was the only one there, everything took at least twice as long as it should have. We waited for a good 30 mins before we could put our order in. I got the lobster bisque, which was ok, flavor was rich and slightly fishy, which I could handle. However there was only TWO small pieces of lobster. My husband got the 16oz Ribeye. It came out undercooked (he ordered medium rare and it was blue and cold in the center). The flavor was mediocre at best, with absolutely no seasonings whatsoever. Just a plain piece of meat. The best thing we ordered were the oysters Rockefeller - full of flavor and very good. All in all, I gave two stars due to the lack of service, overall ambiance, and mediocre food. We won't be back.

Shrimp risotto special. Not a regular menu item so get it if it's available

Idk why this restaurant has only a 3.5 star rating because it's far better than most restaurants in Columbia and the prices are very reasonable. I think it gets overlooked bc the location is a little odd but the food is very good. We have eaten here twice and have really enjoyed all their dishes. The palette here tends towards sweet or salty and although I would prefer a bit more restraint I have learned that the Midwest is big on salt and sugar. They are very good at cooking their proteins just right. We ordered the shrimp risotto special without the bleu cheese because I'm not a fan of bleu cheese. Even with the special request to omit the bleu cheese it was really good I hade the ribeye with the broiled lobster add on and it was also perfectly cooked My husband had the tenderloin w Boursin and lobster cheese on the side. Lobster and Boursin surprise my goes well together and worked well on the corn on the cob I would totally recommend this place for date night. It's a great place to get a really good meal at a very reasonable price

No one else at the bar

Service is crap wanted at the bar for twenty mins no hello, no water, not drinks. It's like I died and was a ghost just sitting at the bar.

The waiter was surly. The lights are blinding in this place. My friend really liked the salmon with squash. I wasn't impressed.

He loved going for his bday to sit on the saddle and have everyone sing and watch the waitresses dance. These days, I don't think the waitresses dance anymore, which is a bummer... but we still love coming here. My son and I went on two separate occasions since moving to Columbia. The first time we went, he ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger and I got a Loaded Baked Potato, Chili & mixed Veggies. The second time, I ordered a Ribeye with mushrooms, and Mac n Cheese. My son ordered Prime Rib with Mac n Cheese and we shared a cactus blossom. Our server was awesome, he was so attentive and kept the dinner rolls flowing! A manager stopped by to make sure everything went good for the night, which was super nice. Honestly, Texas roadhouse is at the top of my list of favorite restaurants, and I'm so glad Columbia has this location. We honestly can't wait to go back.

The music was very loud people had to talk louder making it harder to hear. The bartender was amazing, she provided exceptional service. She was friendly and quick. The food on the other hand was pretty bad. I don't usually give poor reviews. My steak was supposed to be med-rare it was mostly well done with a tiny bit of pink. My friend's steak was cold. Since we waited for 45 minutes for our food we did not have time to send it back.

Things started out well, the BF had a tasty Manhattan and I had a mocktail that was subtle and delicious, and not overpriced as mocktails often are. But alas. The house salads that we ordered were overdressed in a vinaigrette so acidic we couldn't finish them. And there wasn't much to them. Other than greens and fried shallots and pickled red onions, there was a tiny dusting of some finely grated cheese. And who needs two kinds of onions and nothing else on the salad? Then we each had a bowl of the matzo ball soup, which was ridiculous. Three matzo balls sitting in a quarter-inch of broth that was so unbelievably salty that we couldn't eat that either. We ended up asking for hot water to dilute the broth to a level of saltiness that was edible. The chicken was okay and the matzo balls were okay. A little gummy. But the broth was just awful. It all made me wonder if the chef had lost their sense of taste due to Covid or something. Seriously. I've had that happen to me a couple of times and all I could taste was really basic stuff like sour and salt. And our waitress was totally uninterested in trying to make our experience better. She wasn't rude, she was just indifferent to the fact that we'd been served two courses that we absolutely couldn't eat. Didn't offer us anything to compensate or even express any sympathy about it. We got out of there as fast as we could and made ourselves feel better with an Andy's frozen custard.
