My main issue with quest in the past is them billing me despite being told it would be taken care of, but that was in a different state. But I'm an adult, so I continue to dutifully trudge in for the inevitable biannual stab and bloodletting. My first visit here went smoothly: made an appointment online, checked in at the electronic kiosk inside, was called back quickly. The phlebotomist was friendly, gentle, and efficient, and carefully verified the markers being tested and all of my personal data attached to it. They don't process labs in house or even locally, they send the specimens up to Seattle. But the turnaround was a couple of days, so it works out if you're not needing results STAT. I can't speak to billing because I haven't received one yet, but so far, I have a fairly positive impression of a place that I hate going to, and that counts for something. Adulting isn't always pleasant. Sometimes it just sucks.

I arrived and the front desk was unattended and a sign told me to check in at the kiosk around the corner. The check in process was pretty easy since I entered my info online when I scheduled yesterday. I took a seat and waited about 10 minutes before the front desk lady called my name. She took my order and added it to the appointment, then sent me back to the waiting area again. She was a bit gruff and unfriendly but she got the job done fast. I was called back for my draw a minute or two later. The phlebotomist was a very friendly older gentleman. He confirmed my info and took my blood without any issues. He was gentle and quick, with the only pain being the quick little jab when he placed the catheter. The draw went quickly and he bandaged the spot well. I don't think I will have any bruising, which I was worried about from the Google reviews. The space is clean and minimally decorated. There are some chairs to sit in while you wait and a tv playing the news, but that's it. There's a restroom that I didn't use. They are located in a smaller strip so there's a decent amount of parking. Bonus points for the wonderful cafe next door, it's a great reward after fasting all day! All in all I was here for less than 15 minutes. The experience went well and I would be comfortable going here for bloodwork again.

Unfortunately I hit traffic in several places that caused me to arrive at 1:55. I checked in with the first person and sat to wait, Several minutes later I was called to the desk and informed that I was late and there was no "table" time for me. When I said I was on time I was told no, and since they were running late there was no way to squeeze me in. She held out the office business card. I was so angry that I sat in the garage for several minutes trying to compose myself. Let's see, I was on time, but lost my appointment partly because they were late! I drove to Kaiser to complain and they were able to get me an appointment with their imaging in Salem. My biggest gripe is the lack of care for a patient and lack of customer service. She spoke to me as if she were saying they were out of chocolate ice cream. She also did nothing to try to ameliorate the issue. They have other locations, maybe one had an opening? I hope Kaiser thinks twice about sending people to this location.
