As a self diagnosed Quest hater I was actually really surprised at the competence and care here. I will say it's a bummer they're not able to provide juice / snacks to clients before/after blood draws, since those kind of nurse me back to health, but I actually didn't need it this time around anyway! My main issue with quest in the past is them billing me despite being told it would be taken care of, but that was in a different state. They had an easy check in iPad in the waiting room to check in. They did end up having a kids room for me to lay down to have my blood taken. Their parking lot seems to just be covered, so it's pretty easy to get in after you've found it the first time. read more

Waited out in the hall for a text saying it was our turn. It never came. When we asked, they said we needed to wait inside the waiting room. It was THEIR checking system that said we could wait out in the hall. Just for fun, they called us in just to tell us they couldn't see us today and that we could go on a waiting list. I went outside, made an appt at the Riverbend lab and got in and out in no time. Will NEVER come back to Hillyard. read more

On Saturday, 03-January-2026, I arrived at 09:57 Am and checked in for a walk in. The kiosk told me a wait of 30-60 minutes. The lobby was full and so I sat on the outside in the hallway. At around 11:30 AM the U of O football players (5-6 of them) arrived for walk in appts that were pulled in and serviced before me. In addition they locked me out at 12:00 pm and said not seeing anymore. Waisted over two hours of my time and to be treated like crap and not seen just irritated me beyond belief, in addition, the U of O football players arrived as walk-in after me and they got seen prior to me. It's never fun to have to go in for lab work, but I have to say, this location of Quest Diagnostics made it as painless as possible. I went ahead and scheduled my appointment about 5 days ahead of time on their easy-to-use website, and there were plenty of appointments to choose from. On the day of, I showed up a few minutes early, signed in by scanning the QR code they'd emailed me at a kiosk, and sat down to wait my turn. I was called in right on time by a nice tech in his 20s or 30s, who helped me feel more relaxed in general with his upbeat attitude. He easily joked around with me a bit, and that always helps with nerves. He had a picture of his dog taped on the wall of his station, so naturally I showed him pictures of mine and we cooed over the adorableness of both. He went above and beyond to make me feel relaxed during a particularly uncomfortable test, which I really appreciate. When all was said and done, I had my results back within a few days. I would definitely recommend and use this location again myself. read more

As earlier posters described, the wait can be super long for walk-ins, and scheduling via the online system seemed complicated. The last time I went with my son, these elderly people with canes and walkers were just giving up and leaving. So we did too! We use another lab now. read more

Arrived at 3 for a urine test, and checked in on the computer. 2 hours later, I was told that the cutoff for walk-ins was 4 and I couldn't be seen. I informed the employee that I arrived two hours ago, and he told me they still wouldn't see me. No signs about walk in times, and it took an hour after that cutoff for anybody to say anything, all this despite me being there an hour before cutoff. read more

Horrible experience. Zero compassion or understanding of a special needs 6 yr old with medical trauma and brain damage. Second attempt at sedated draw. Received a lecture and shaming. Scheduled last appt of day to make less stressful. I was prepared to not be successful with draw, and try again with another sedative. I was not prepared to be humiliated by a phlebotomist. Worst medical service I have ever received. Don't trust the appointment times, they will call you either 30 minutes early or 2 hours late. Either way, if you are not there at the random time they decide to call you, their computers auto delete your appointment and you have to start over. There's a reason their waiting room is all automated because anyone staffing it would be overwhelmed by every single patient's complaints. read more

I tried to schedule a lab appointment online. The lab on Hilyard St, Eugene, OR, does not offer that service. Next, I tried using their automated phone line. I got through the process just fine...until the computer couldn't understand my last name. I repeated my name FOUR times. My name was never understood. No appointment. Next I used the phone to try to reach a living human being. However, there is no "speak to an agent" option...only useless automated options. No appointment. I have just come from my second frustrating experience with QUEST LABS at 1200 Hilyard in Eugene. My first recent visit, before I knew about their new to me online reservation system, I signed in as a stand by and waited almost two hours. I made the appointment for today almost a week ago (first available). I was called a little past my appt time and the phlebotomist began paperwork re-asking what I had just put into the check in kiosk. Then she told me she didn't have the orders from my MD which I believed had been sent more than a week ago. The other young woman in cubicle 2 left the room to look & returned saying they didn't have them. I was quite sure the orders had been sent because I had been reminded to get the tests. "Hallie" and "Autumn" would not let me call my MD from their cubicle & sent me back to the waiting room to do it. They made clear that even if the orders were FAXed immediately, I would have to sign in again for another appointment another day, or "stand by". My MD's assistant remembered having sent the orders but re-sent them while I was on the line. There was no one in the waiting room to help after I had contacted my MD, so I tried to sign in again. I had to scan my odl and insurance card again and say I was a standby. I was given a number. The first tech who came to the door to get her next patient would not help or let me in to talk to "Hallie" or "Autumn". When I was close to tears in frustration, a male tech (Roger) called my number. He had no trouble finding both lab orders from my MD. So finally I got my tests, more than an hour after my original appointment. Hallie & Autumn had disappeared so I was unable to tell them how offensive their unhelpful attitudes had been. I will go to great inconvenience to avoid another encounter with QUEST LABS. read more

I've been to this location twice and have had zero problems. The business is very techy so you need to book appointments online and when you arrive, you need to check in at a kiosk. In other words, there's no one to listen to your long stories on the phone or to chat with about the weather when you arrive. Fine by me! My first appointment was with Hailey (spelling?) for a blood test. She was a ray of friendly sunshine on a dreary Eugene morning. No problems drawing blood either. Second appointment was with another tech who was not quite as friendly but certainly professional and efficient. Absolutely horrible experience, it was kind of a nightmare to find in the first place. Got sent here for a drug test for a job and was send details of where to go and provided a barcode for appointment. The email said the test was scheduled any time between dec3- Dec-10 and when I went in they said I needed an appointment despite the email. So I guess you need to book two appointments to go in? Terrible experience. Avoid if possible. Showed up for a walk in blood draw. Checked in and was provided 20m estimated wait time. An hour later I was notified "Please return to the Patient Draw Center for your collection now." The wait time counter said one minute until I was to be seen. Wait time kept going UP while I kept waiting. After 1.5 hours and the counter saying 19 more minutes I finally gave up and left. Terrible experience. I don't really understand why appointments are necessary as each time I'm there, even with an appointment, the wait time is ridiculously long. Sometimes I've waited 30 min. The room is always packed with people waiting. Can admin do anything about this deficiency in customer service? Maybe hire more phlebotomists? Space out appointments so that the room isn't so congested? Today, every seat is taken and only standing room is available. This is horrible! Absolutely horrible service! read more

We came early 6:45 a.m. (open at 7) to be first in line as my son has a class at 8. We were there first then a lady came shortly after within 5-10 minutes later after us. Door opens and there were 2 kioshs to register. Apparently she finished within a couple seconds early than us. She was called first. She pointed out that we were first and the staff just said the computer had her name first. So she went in. Within 5 minutes after, another person came in and I assumed she has an appointment as I noticed my son's name showed he has a 16 minutes wait and while this person has only a 5 minutes wait. Then, came another person. I finally spoke up and pointed out that we were here first and we should have been called in before the lady that came after us without the appointment. This shouldn't happen. Everyone's time is important and the staff should have taken us in first. read more

I hardly ever react like this, but this time, I'm making an exception. Quest has multiple problems from top to bottom. The following things factored in to me giving the lowest review: 1. Quality of overall management: This includes billing errors, spoiled tests. 2. Sudden inability of phlebotomists to draw blood. No previous problems, but now blood drawers can't seem to find veins in either one of us. 3. Waiting room: poor ventilation, seemed like one giant disease vector. My name appeared and disappeared on the board, and other patients were complaining. I do not want to ever use Quest in Eugene again. read more

The worst lab ever! I had to go three times last week to get all my blood work done for an annual exam. The 1st time only some of the order was entered into the system, the second time there were 6 people waiting at 8 am and only one technician (he told me there are supposed to be 3 techs at all times but this has become a pattern, making it waaay too long a wait for the morning "rush" of fasting folks on their way to work. I had to go back a third time because the lab never sent the lipid panel test (earlier) results to the doctor! The tech told me they had likely entered a regular lipid panel when the doctor had ordered an advanced lipid panel, so he guessed that the lab had thrown it out rather than sending wrong test results to doctor. Too many errors! Too few staff!! read more

Obviously they are understaffed, but signage IN the waiting room indicating that an exceptionally long wait is to be expected, would help. A mention of this in the audio playing over the wait board would help as well. Repeated audio explaining that payment is expected at the time of service just becomes an irritant in these circumstances. Additionally, they have not provided a means to get the second parking ticket required, for folks who cannot keep waiting to be seen, so even trying to leave is frustrating. The board indicating my wait time on arrival started at 45 minutes, then after 50 minutes, indicated 11 more minutes...followed by 27 minutes...then 14, then 32. We all know that the time required for every patient isn't identical, but rather than being helpful, the durations displayed end up being meaningless. At approximately the 2 hour mark I received a text indicating they could take me, but I'd already had to leave. Pretty frustrating all around. read more

I arrived at 8:50 am for a fasting blood test. Eventually someone took my name and insurance info. Then I waited for 90 mins. Finally a lab tech came out and I asked her how much longer. She looked startled and embarrassed and said they had a staff shortage that day. She then made a big announcement to the full waiting room about the shortage. I asked her how much longer? She said she didn't know. I asked why this wait time had not been communicated at check in. No response. I told her I was leaving and crossed my name off the list. During this time of Covid-19, how can they they justify keeping all these people in a room waiting for their test for hours? And how unprofessional not to communicate the very long wait times!!! Then I got home and decided to schedule an appointment to avoid this in the future. I tried two different browsers and could not get the scheduler to work. Then I called and waded through several minutes of announcements finally getting to the automated scheduler. No appointments available for the next 2 days. Oh well - that means I'll be sitting in the waiting room again. I'll try another location and hope that goes better. read more

From the moment I walked into the office until the moment I left, it was nothing but smooth sailing! When someone with 35 years of extensive experience as a hospital patient tells you the needle is too big for their veins, the needle is too big for their veins. My explanation for requiring a pediatric needle went ignored by the young woman who believes she knows more about a patient's body than they do. Against my instructions, Sonia claimed that the regular sized needle she had prepared was "not too big" and proceeded to shove it into my vein. Besides being more painful than it would have been if my veins been able to handle that, of course no blood was released as I had already warned. That vein is now collapsed and will for the next year or so be unusable for future blood draws using a pediatric needle. When inconsiderate, dispassionate hospital staff ignore the whole human by blatantly disregarding our experiences, it causes past trauma to resurface as it has done for me today. read more

They do not have a receptionist. You have to sign in using a kiosk and then wait for your turn. Also, there isn't a way to confirm whether they got the Doctor's order before driving down there and signing in. Can't call and talk to a person. read more
