Our friends are loyal customers, they usually pick up huge orders. We ate dinner at their house one…read morenight and make their whiskey chicken. It was amazing and now we are addicted! Just picked up order of Kona,Whiskey,Mexican chicken thighs also cheese and sausage raviolis. It is such a great value! We will get around 8-9 dinners and probably comes out to $6 per dinner

No trip to Gold Country is complete without a stop at Swingle Meat!…read more As mentioned in my previous review, groceries, especially meat prices are super high in the Bay Area, so whenever I have a chance to get some good deals on meat, I'm going to make every trip here worth it. On this trip I picked up some frozen ribeyes, sirloins, burgers, breakfast sausage patties, cheddar jalapeno sausages, and some chile verde and ranch house chicken. The chicken items I got come vacuum sealed, which is perfect when I plan to sous vide them. The things I wish I got more of was their honey pepper beef sticks and hot teriyaki beef jerky. It's very affordable and perfect for snacks. Another low key thing that we like are their frozen chicken wellingtons. super easy to bake at home and it's a tasty meal. I arrived in the morning and luckily it wasn't super busy. Grabbed a basket and before I knew it I had enough meats and snacks to feed a large family when in reality, it's just for a couple of us. $153 well spent and meals for days. The prices for the tri-tips have more than doubled since 2020, but honestly, still a great deal considering the size. $35-40 for a good sized marinated tri-tip is still a steal of a price. The mother lode tri tip is a can't miss and a fan favorite at any of our family bbqs. Definitely plan to bring a cooler and some ice packs so you can keep your meats stored properly in route to back home.

What a great find & I believe this is connected Nugget Grocery store…read more Best homemade soup, sandwiches (we ordered a pork Bon Mi, BLAT) freshly made, choice of delicious breads & served warm. New to the store, I had friendly help finding: the Spices, horseradish cream& some organic oats & baking supplies. We also purchased some pre/ sliced lasagna (yum), fresh roast beef, meatballs must be popular because they were out at 11:30 am Sunday. Home head meatballs are good for so many things. Not only to add to pasta, put on a slicer or with salad as an easy meal. Produce and meat selections were great & inviting. Fresh hot lasagna soup, tortilla soup and clam chowder all yum! Pricing was fair & lots of Indian meals on sale, Thai curry & many other pricing lower than my regular stores I shop. Wide cleans isles, beautiful store full of workers to help with any questions. Came home with an excellent cantaloupe, watermelon and beautiful tomatoes. Check it out

While driving back down the mountain from Placerville yesterday, my husband and I decided to stop…read morein to Fork Lift to grab some groceries for the week. I remember visiting Fork Lift like 10 years ago and really liking it - it is a sister store of Nugget Market I believe. The inside was massive, clean and well organized. My husband and I wanted to buy one of everything! Their produce section had every fruit and vegetable imaginable - it was also very visually aesthetically pleasing! I loved seeing their bulk spices, nuts, teas and candy options! Their butcher shop and fish section looked very fresh and can we talk about their massive cheese selections!? I was very impressed and they even had my favorite coffee for sale which is hard to find - the Blue Bottle Nola milk cartons. Overall, this would be my grocer of choice if we lived in the area - check out staff was also very friendly! Check them out!
