And the fresh baked breads/naan/big 'ol' soft pizza dough thing looked so good, had to pick that up too. Very angry, very rude and unwelcoming staff. Not organized, dark and tight place to move around. . Unpleasant place to be in. Because of crowding and lack of organization of displayed items, one jar fell to the ground from one customer. Although, the customer apologized and offered to pay the cost of the jar, the owner frowned at him, almost reprimanded him and still charged him for the broken item which was about $6. I would never recommend this place to anyone. If there were minus stars, I would have given that place minus 10 stars. read more

Placed an order for a whole lamb 5 days prior. I said I would pick up Friday afternoon when I called Friday the owner said it wouldn't be ready so I told him I'll pick up at 10 am on Saturday. Sure enough Sat came was at the store at 10 am to find out that yet again the lamb wasn't ready owner came at 11 am told me I had to wait until 12 for someone to drop the lamb off. I'd give this market 6 stars if I could! I hesitated to try it because the reviews about customer service were not great, but I really wanted lamb for Mother's Day. It was truly the best lamb I've ever eaten. I came back to buy more lamb yesterday, and they didn't have the cut I wanted, but the owner said he could get it by today. I picked it up and started talking to the owner, and apparently the business has changed hands since the prior reviews. The owner Dean saw me walk up and down the isle. I was looking for garbanzo brand and when I could not find it, I asked him if he had any I stock . He was standing behind the counter with no other customers. Didn't come out to show me. He just said that. It was on my right side . I still couldn't find it so I asked him again and he said it again that it was in y right side . I still couldn't find it . As if this was pleasuring him because he made no attempt yo come out and point me the product . I asked him yo step out and show me. He came out with an attitude and showed me the product that was on my left side and at least a foot further down from when I was standing . He was being a jerk . It's a shame that we have to come here from time to time . His wife is nice and if it wasn't for her I would stop coming here years ago. Mr. Dean was it hard for you to actually give a service to your customer of 10 years plus? Did you have to be sarcastic ? Did you gain pleasure from watching me not being able to locate the product? this is an AWESOME little store and butcher shop. What got me in there: the organic meat sign. Not sure what that means, so I went in to peruse after buying a gift cert at Nicholson Music (another great shop.) Anyway, the joint is PACKED TO THE GILLS with yummy smelling goods. The aisles are full of teas from Asia, India, and even Yerba Mate from Argentina (I got a big bag of it for 3 bucks or so). There is an Indian/Fijian section. I bought Chaat spices and a giant bag of turmeric, also a nice bag of wheat bulgur that was cheaper than bulk at bin stores. There are a lot of mexican spices and cooking ingredients as well as Thai, and they had big bags of frozen roti and paratha. They carried beautiful pitas, I bought some lovely fluffy pillowy ones. I didn't like the look of the frozen samosas, so I passed. I did buy some labni (lebni). I bought the fresh refrigerated stuff, but they had some that is floating in virgin olive oil like very good mozzarella. It's a kefir cheese; I like the cream cheese version: you blend it with sumac and garlic and sprinkle it with mint and drizzle olive oil...dip your pita. mmm. I also bought some Persian lentil yogurt veggie soup, it comes dried. Smells DELICIOUS. They have LOTS of different kinds halvah and turkish delight, I bought chocolate flavored halvah and some TD made with walnuts. I bought some tahini too, it was excellent mixed with yogurt, salt and lemon. I asked the owner for sumac, but he couldn't find any. So he bagged some of his own personal stash and sold it to me for a buck. Yay! Chicken Sumac over turmeric rice is one of my favorites. The butcher shop is smallish. Still not sure what constitutes "organic meat", and I didn't ask, that's because they had really gorgeous ribeye for 5 bucks a lbs. I bought 3 lbs and they practically gifted it to me at 13 .00; they also carried organ meats, veal, lamb, and fowl for VERY reasonable prices. No pork dudes, this place is KOSHER. Owner is cool: he's Fijian, speaks 5 languages, is married to a Persian lady and they run the place together with a few possible family members. So for dinner tonight, I made falafel and pita and the veggie yogurt soup. I cooked the bulgur and added some chaat spices. Every stuffy nose in the house cleared up with a collective yum. Good for veggies, meat eaters, Muslims, Jews, Indians, Fijians, Mexicans, whitey, and apparently Argentinians. Thatsa lotta coverage. read more

I think it's also called Meat Market. We buy our chicken exclusively from Kabul Bazaar at $1.69 lb. It's delicious unlike any other chicken we eat now. Ask the owner for a yogurt chicken recipe and you won't be disappointed. We went yesterday to buy a whole chicken and asked about soup bones. The owner said he supplies many restaurants in the area with soup bones but had one beef bone left. He cut it for us and offered us his personal recipe for soup. The bones are in the water with all the other goodness as we speak and we'll be having soup for dinner. Go there now. They also have some European items like those dense graham-crackery cookies called "Digestives". My fave. read more

Best place to buy Halal Chicken and Lamb. We buy Halal Chicken only because it doesn't have the foul taste and smell which is common in Chicken you get in regular grocery stores. We have tried boneless and Chicken with bone. Tastes way better than regular grocery store ones. Very reasonable prices also. read more

Folsom Quality meat has no doubt best fresh meat. We have been buying Chicken, beef and goat from here for so many years with same consistent quality. Meat here is hand slaughtered and no harmful chemical fed animals. We moved to East Bay last year but still drive 2 hours to get meat from here, tried multiple locations in East Bay but no comparison of Folsom quality meat. For some folks its bit expensive, for us it's all about taste and quality. read more

Quality meat never disappoints. We buy our chicken breasts, whole chickens, tri-tips, and steaks from them. Great service, great products, and great prices. We've purchase meat from other stores and found injection marks where they plumped them up. The meat at Quality Meats is just that, quality. Wonderful store. I stop by every week to pick up Byblos whole milk yogurt. It's the best I've ever tasted. They have a great selection of spices and middle eastern foods. I love the fresh vegetables too. I think many of them are from backyard farmers. I've enjoyed them. Recently, I bought okra there. The owner gave me some good tips for cooking it. I thought I didn't like okra. Turns out I do! I bought some squash there too - a variety I hadn't seen before. It was delicious too. It didn't get soft when I sauteed it like zucchini does. This place has the best meats in the area, at very reasonable prices. They are starting to pre-package steaks and chicken, probably because they are getting busier due to the great reviews. But if it's not pre-packaged, just ask. He will go into the walk-in frig and see what he has! The beef is organic, grass fed and no antibiotics. It all tastes fabulous.The owner says the quality of the product is the most important thing to him, and he can keep overhead down because family members work there. Everyone is very helpful.
