In the last five years, I've called these guys more than I've called my own parents. Clogged drains? Snaked. Garbage disposal sounding like a blender full of rocks? Replaced. This was supported by a live walkthrough for me to view what the repair person was talking about. The same afternoon (!) options were presented for replacement and a choice was made. An appointment was made and several days later the old furnace was taken out and a new furnace was installed in less than 4 hours. Everyone involved was extremely helpful and courteous. Bottom line: price quoted and installation met with no surprises. Clean space left with all old items and leftover stuff removed. Several weeks later, I remain completely satisfied with the job and would happily recommend this company based on my experience. I will continue to use them in the future.

Our central air wasn't working so we called Rusk hoping to get a technician out to fix our issue.  Judy scheduled our appointment for the next day but called us back and advised that she could get us in that day if we were available.  We welcomed the earlier appointment.   They sent Brock (we think that was his name). He was very professional and pleasantly explained that we likely needed a new unit.  He was empathetic and set the tone for a positive experience.  Enter Steve Morrison.. Steve was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and went the extra mile in surveying our entire home (how many windows, how tall the ceilings are, etc.) to determine the best system for us.  His quote arrived shortly after our interaction and when we posed questions, he responded almost immediately.  We landed on agreeable terms and Steve advised that he'd get our equipment ordered and someone would call us to schedule. Three days later we got a call to begin our installation on the next day.  We were in the midst of a string of hot humid days so we were pleased that they worked us in so quickly during a time of peak demand.  Steve #2 arrived at 7:30 on Friday morning.  He worked quickly and methodically.  He ran into road blocks, and worked his way through.  He provided helpful updates, and answered questions with ease.  Steve went above and beyond to care for our home in a way that we admired. Shoe covers, tarps, all without prompting. We really appreciated his diligence in this area. When it was apparent that he might not complete the job by the end of day, Steve pushed through to make sure our weekend would not be miserably hot and sticky.  As he prepared to leave he provided instructions for the operation of the unit until Monday, outlined the tasks he planned to complete on Monday, and asked if 7:30 was a good start time.  We expected to see him on Monday at 7:30.  We had a great weekend in our newly cooled home.  We prepared to welcome Steve at 7:30 on Monday... our workdays began to ramp up and we lost track of time.  We got a call just after 1:00pm and the scheduler asked if he could send someone over at that time.  I explained that we were expecting Steve that morning and he advised that Steve likely didn't know his schedule... this was the first interaction that was contrary to our expectations. Nick arrived shortly after.  Like everyone we'd interacted with, Nick was very pleasant.  My husband asked questions about the tasks Steve identified on Friday.  Nick was eager to continue the installation to our satisfaction, but there were a couple of notes missing in the transition.  He didn't know to secure the unit to the brackets, which was pretty important in our opinion and left fewer filters than previously expressed. We called the office to inquire about the transition and Steve Morrison came back out to ensure that everything was done correctly, and according to Rusk standard. We really appreciated the reassurance. Nobody likes to pay handsomely for unexpected replacement costs, but we feel good about our experience, and the new relationship we've formed with Rusk.

However, we found out a few months later that they didn't put back 4 main screws in the frame. This caused extremely violent shaking during spin cycles. We were out of town for most of the warranty window so we didn't find out about this until it was too late. When we called them to say something seems to be broken after they came out, they said it was out of the window so it would be a normal service charge. We decided to use a different company since last time they didn't put our machine back together properly. The company that came out replaced the screws and fixed the shaking very quickly.

The issue was not resolved, but the technician left and told me everything was fixed without doing any meaningful checks to confirm it. After I called back because the appliance still wasn't working, they returned and told me they could continue repairs for several hundred dollars more, but that I should probably just buy a new appliance instead. In the end, I paid about $200 just to be told to replace the appliance. After I initially left a negative review, someone from the company contacted me and offered a partial refund for the first visit. That refund never happened. I had roots growing in my pipes and instead of paying another company $7000 to replace the broken pipe at the elbow that allowed the roots to grow in and cause back-ups, he suggested sewer lining, which is supposed to cover all the cracks in old pipes. The quote was $4500 to line 30 feet from the basement out to the end of the yard. There was no mention that the liner can't cover pipe elbows! It was nothing but a disaster! When Darryl attempted to do the job, the 1st thing to happen was the liner got stuck in the pipe, under the basement floor! He had to break open the floor cement to pull it out! He was forced to replace that pipe and redo the floor cement! Then it happened 2 more times! It turned out my pipes were 4 inches and they only had 6 inch liners. Halpin refused to get 4 inch liners! Finally after weeks later, getting the liner in place and supposedly the job was done, my pipes continued to have issues of a back-up on the basement floor! In the meantime, Darryl left the company! I can only imagine why! Each time this happened, I called to complain and they came out and said I had root problems and snaked it to clear it! Each time I asked why I had roots after they lined the pipe, they claimed they told me the liner could not line in an elbow and that's where the roots were! I argued with them that I was never told that but they claimed it was my problem and not under warranty anymore! I told them that from the beginning, I knew the roots were in the elbow and that's what the original job was supposed to fix! I knew because the other company showed me on the video during their $7000 quote! Darryl never told me that the liner would not cover the elbow even though I made a point of telling him that's where the problem was! There's nothing in my quote, either! It says a full 30 feet will be lined! The last guy that came tried to charge me to snake it and I refused! He said he wouldn't charge me that time but anytime in the future, they would! That's 5 yrs ago! I've had back-ups, twice a year since! I've had to call a different plumber each time (Because I refuse to give Halpin another dime) and for the last year have been getting root killer to help! AS A RESULT, ALL PAPER HAS TO BE PUT IN THE TRASH CAN! CAN YOU IMAGINE ALL YOUR DIRTY TOILET PAPER ALWAYS IN THE TRASH!? IT HAPPENED AGAIN YESTURDAY BECAUSE MY 11 YR OLD GRANDSON FORGOT AND PUT PAPER IN THE TOILET AND THAT FAST, IT CAUSED A BACK-UP! I'M NOW 67 YRS OLD AND HAVE TO DEAL WITH POOP BACKING UP ON THE BASEMENT FLOOR, AGAIN!
