Our Story... Our central air wasn't working so we called Rusk hoping to get a technician out to fix our issue.  Judy scheduled our appointment for the next day but called us back and advised that she could get us in that day if we were available.  We welcomed the earlier appointment.   They sent Brock (we think that was his name). He was very professional and pleasantly explained that we likely needed a new unit.  He was empathetic and set the tone for a positive experience.  Enter Steve Morrison.. Steve was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and went the extra mile in surveying our entire home (how many windows, how tall the ceilings are, etc.) to determine the best system for us.  His quote arrived shortly after our interaction and when we posed questions, he responded almost immediately.  We landed on agreeable terms and Steve advised that he'd get our equipment ordered and someone would call us to schedule. Three days later we got a call to begin our installation on the next day.  We were in the midst of a string of hot humid days so we were pleased that they worked us in so quickly during a time of peak demand.  Steve #2 arrived at 7:30 on Friday morning.  He worked quickly and methodically.  He ran into road blocks, and worked his way through.  He provided helpful updates, and answered questions with ease.  Steve went above and beyond to care for our home in a way that we admired. Shoe covers, tarps, all without prompting. We really appreciated his diligence in this area. When it was apparent that he might not complete the job by the end of day, Steve pushed through to make sure our weekend would not be miserably hot and sticky.  As he prepared to leave he provided instructions for the operation of the unit until Monday, outlined the tasks he planned to complete on Monday, and asked if 7:30 was a good start time.  We expected to see him on Monday at 7:30.  We had a great weekend in our newly cooled home.  We prepared to welcome Steve at 7:30 on Monday... our workdays began to ramp up and we lost track of time.  We got a call just after 1:00pm and the scheduler asked if he could send someone over at that time.  I explained that we were expecting Steve that morning and he advised that Steve likely didn't know his schedule... this was the first interaction that was contrary to our expectations. Nick arrived shortly after.  Like everyone we'd interacted with, Nick was very pleasant.  My husband asked questions about the tasks Steve identified on Friday.  Nick was eager to continue the installation to our satisfaction, but there were a couple of notes missing in the transition.  He didn't know to secure the unit to the brackets, which was pretty important in our opinion and left fewer filters than previously expressed. We called the office to inquire about the transition and Steve Morrison came back out to ensure that everything was done correctly, and according to Rusk standard. We really appreciated the reassurance. Nobody likes to pay handsomely for unexpected replacement costs, but we feel good about our experience, and the new relationship we've formed with Rusk.

The owner- ANDY - called me and spoke with me about my issue and explained that the person I was working with and the hard pushing sales man had both been fired. He offerred a full refund of my money, which I didnt ask for, but a GOOD business owner should always offer. The only reason I didnt leave a 5 star after speaking with Andy is becasue I feel that He IS sincere, but needs to put his personal contact information or have a place to file complaints that go to him as the owner on his site. When I had my issue, I had no idea that there was an available owner who would have cared and responsed and HOW to get to them. Andy is agood local small businessowner who cannot be properly represented by all of his employees and will gladly extend himself to maintain honor in his business. Definately give them a try!

My AC stopped working on 5/17 so a tech was sent out on 5/20 to see what was wrong. He asked me to pay $89 to which it would be applied to whatever service I chose. Hadn't received a call or quotes on 5/22 and when I called, was told they were busy. Called 5/27 (1 week after they came out) 3 times and left a message saying I still haven't received a quote (and all before the supposedly closing time). Called 5/28 to follow up on the message I had left the day before and talked to Chelsea who said they were busy - asked for a refund at this point because even though I'm an existing customer and paid them $89 to tell me my AC needed something done, they couldn't be bothered to give me prices. Was told I would be given a call back. On 5/29, I called 4 times after not hearing anything (could not get a person on the phone so I left a message) but had my boyfriend call who was able to get someone on the phone (I have a 614 # so pretty sure my call was being screened). On 6/1, I called from my office phone and talked to Julie who said she would follow up. 2 more calls later that day and was told that the owner said no refund, I would receive my estimates to which I said absolutely not, that is unacceptable and bad business. After hanging up, Julie called me back and said the owner would call me the next morning. No call received from the owner on 6/2. It's now been 2 weeks and not only will I not get my money back, the owner won't talk to me and I still have not received any quotes/estimates. Bad business model and awful communication. I get that I will have to wait but I have contacted better companies the day after for "2nd" opinions and they came out and gave quotes the same day! DO NOT RECOMMEND and I have contacted the credit card company and will be contacting BBB.

I had called Action Heating and Air for my furnace service and found them to be dependable and professional, so I figured I would give them another try. I booked an appointment a few days out and Rick showed up... on time and ready to tackle the a/c inspection. He did brief me on what he would be doing and then quickly got to work (no rush as it was not hot, well not yet anyway). He did his inspection and cleaning of the unit briefing me along the way as to his findings. Once done, he cleaned up the work area and presented me with a very reasonable bill of service. Rick was extremely professional and friendly at all times during the service visit. I would not hesitate on calling Action Heating and Air again for future services (like in November for the furnace service). Thanks again Rick!

We bought an $18,000 A/C unit from them 3 years ago and in the past 5 months, the boards have blown twice. The first time this happened, a tech came out, diagnosed the issue and had it fixed in 48 hours. Last week it blew again allegedly for a different reason and the "parts were ordered". So my elderly parents did Labor Day weekend in 90 degree temperatures inside. Having to sleep in 90 degree air after an $18,000 purchase is ridiculous. No one should be treated this way. It's been a week and all we hear when calling is "the parts have been ordered". Last time it took 48 hours to fix it, now it's been a week and do you know what ETA they gave us on parts being in? It'll be 3 more weeks before parts are likely to be in. Additionally, when the manager we spoke to learned about the situation, his first reply was that he didn't have A/C as a kid... not sure how that's relevant but I can take a guess as to what the intention was behind the remark and that's extremely unprofessional. Guests are coming to stay for several days and they'll have nothing to offer those guests but a stuffy room. This really is the bottom of the barrel service. To our knowledge, the techs that have come out are good at what they do, professional etc, but there's always an upsell and the product quality and management is an embarrassment. I will be recommending Arlinghaus heating and cooling from now on and the next unit will be from them.
