I had called Action Heating and Air for my furnace service and found them to be dependable and professional, so I figured I would give them another try. I booked an appointment a few days out and Rick showed up... on time and ready to tackle the a/c inspection. He did brief me on what he would be doing and then quickly got to work (no rush as it was not hot, well not yet anyway). He did his inspection and cleaning of the unit briefing me along the way as to his findings. Once done, he cleaned up the work area and presented me with a very reasonable bill of service. When I called, they sent a technician who told me the repair would be covered under warranty and that I wouldn't be charged. However, after the repair, the unit broke down again less than a year later. When I contacted the company this time, they refused to come out unless I first paid an outstanding bill of $1,200--something I was never expecting based on what I had been told previously. When I asked why I was being charged, the representative explained that the warranty only covered the first year, and since the initial breakdown happened after 13 months, I had been billed for that repair. I then questioned how a $1,200 repair could be justified when the unit failed again so quickly afterward. The rep simply said this was "standard" in his experience, and "just the way it is". Overall, this has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. I paid a significant amount for a new system, yet I've already dealt with multiple breakdowns and unexpected charges. Not what I would expect from a professional HVAC company.

As we researched further, we discovered that the other guys had very spotty Yelp reviews, so we decided to go with Rechtin instead. Their sales rep Scott was great! He was a former technician so he knew the details of each system very well. He was as honest a guy as you would ever want to meet. Not only did he not try to upsell us on a more expensive unit, he emphasized that the intro level system was very suitable for our house and steered us away from higher priced options because the extra features and efficiency didn't justify the price difference for our needs. As it turned out, our furnace conked out around this time, so Rechtin got a tech out to us quickly to get our old system running until the new one could be installed. The installation took two days, and the team was superbly skilled and courteous. The price of the work was not just fair, but very competitive. These guys took great care of our needs at a good price, and they were responsive when we needed them. What's not to love?

Customer service was absolutely fantastic and Tyler W. was accommodating and gave us clear explanations as to what was wrong. We received a text message with a picture of the employees so we knew who to expect and what they looked like. Arlinghaus has to send another worker out to discuss prices on a new furnace. Tyler was able to get our furnace working temporarily as we look into buying a new furnace. It cost $89 for him to come out and diagnose the problem. They will remove this from any extra work they may need to do. Unfortunately, in the end we could not afford even the lowest option they had for a furnace. They use a top furnace line brand and are more expensive then the national average. This was the only draw back for me that it was to expensive and I did not want to enter into a loan for a $7,000 furnace when the average homeowners pay is $3100. Regardless, they were transparent and did not pressure me into anything we didn't want to do. I highly recommend Arlinghaus for their professionalism and honesty with their customers.

This is not the way to maintain customers or good reviews. If your service is not broken, the service person should not be out generating revenue. I was very concerned when he was measuring the amount of Freon as I heard a loud hiss as the vapors were being released. BTW, the same service person bypassed a safety cut-off device in my furnace last winter and, I had to buy the electrical device and reinstall it for the safety of my home. I am very dissatisfied with their procedures.

They worked with us and gave us an earlier date. They also agreed to enter the house using a lock box since we wouldn't be there yet. The technician called me about 30 mins before getting to the house to let me know they were on the way. The place looked clean and detailed when we got to the house 2 days later. Professionalism. This is the one word that best describes JonLe. I had the pleasure of working with Frank. He came out to my house in freezing temperatures to diagnose my heating issues and provide a reasonable price for my furnace replacement. Within three days, he managed to replace my furnace and talk to the insurance company to make sure the job was completed as quickly as possible. He also let us borrow two small heaters while we waited! He brought an all-star line up with him as well. One man in particular, Gerald or Gerod (I'm bad with names) lead the charge and got my furnace installed within four hours. I would consider him the subject matter expert. Reuben brought a very friendly and customer oriented attitude to the group, and Steve showed the promise of an up and coming rock star within the company. As for the furnace; so far so good. The new furnace uses less energy then the old one and still puts out more heat. My wife and puppies are extremely thankful to be able to rest comfortably now. Finally, he is allowing me some extra time to pay based on my current financial situation. I highly recommend JonLe for your next heating and cooling repair or replacement. Our furnace went out on the coldest day of the year, just a few days before Christmas. Temperatures dropped below 0. I called Jonle and they sent out a tech the same day. He was very kind and knowledgeable. He found the issue very quickly and explained it in a way that was easy to understand. I determined that the best option was to buy a new furnace as ours was almost 20 years old. I was connected with Jeff Gray who helped me purchase the new one. They clearly explained the problem and gave us a short-term and long-term option for fixing to avoid this happening in the future. We have had Jonle come out to service our HVAC system several times. The most recent visit was to install a humidifier to the system. I was able to talk to a sales rep on Friday, he priced it on Saturday and the install was done the following Thursday. I did my research in advance of committing to Jonle and their pricing was in line with industry standards. The sales rep explained that there were more costly options but did not try to upsell those and explained why the least expensive option was the best for us. Our AC coil was bad and had several leaks. I called JonLe to come and out and look at our unit to replace. Jeff was able to come out quickly and take look at our current system, and provide a quote. Since we didn't have AC and it was extremely hot, he was able to move a few things around and have the unit installed the day after I called. The guys who did the install were great. Very courteous and professional. I was very impressed that they laid drop cloth down from the front door all the way leading down to furnace. I highly recommend Jonle. read more

Furnace went out in a rental house I own when we had the first really cold weather, temps were very low, I called JonLe to come out for a consultation, which they did right away. Decided to re-place the system, as the broken part was no longer available due to the age of the old furnace. They were professional and very courteous. I have still never heard back even after letting the secretary know that this was an issue. It's October and time to move on to another company. I don't know they just feel it's not worth their time unless a customer is getting a new furnace, but I would say don't bother with this company.

Our Story... Our central air wasn't working so we called Rusk hoping to get a technician out to fix our issue. Judy scheduled our appointment for the next day but called us back and advised that she could get us in that day if we were available. We welcomed the earlier appointment. They sent Brock (we think that was his name). He was very professional and pleasantly explained that we likely needed a new unit. He was empathetic and set the tone for a positive experience. Enter Steve Morrison.. Steve was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and went the extra mile in surveying our entire home (how many windows, how tall the ceilings are, etc.) to determine the best system for us. His quote arrived shortly after our interaction and when we posed questions, he responded almost immediately. We landed on agreeable terms and Steve advised that he'd get our equipment ordered and someone would call us to schedule. Three days later we got a call to begin our installation on the next day. We were in the midst of a string of hot humid days so we were pleased that they worked us in so quickly during a time of peak demand. Steve #2 arrived at 7:30 on Friday morning. He worked quickly and methodically. He ran into road blocks, and worked his way through. He provided helpful updates, and answered questions with ease. Steve went above and beyond to care for our home in a way that we admired. Shoe covers, tarps, all without prompting. We really appreciated his diligence in this area. When it was apparent that he might not complete the job by the end of day, Steve pushed through to make sure our weekend would not be miserably hot and sticky. As he prepared to leave he provided instructions for the operation of the unit until Monday, outlined the tasks he planned to complete on Monday, and asked if 7:30 was a good start time. We expected to see him on Monday at 7:30. We had a great weekend in our newly cooled home. We prepared to welcome Steve at 7:30 on Monday... our workdays began to ramp up and we lost track of time. We got a call just after 1:00pm and the scheduler asked if he could send someone over at that time. I explained that we were expecting Steve that morning and he advised that Steve likely didn't know his schedule... this was the first interaction that was contrary to our expectations. Nick arrived shortly after. Like everyone we'd interacted with, Nick was very pleasant. My husband asked questions about the tasks Steve identified on Friday. Nick was eager to continue the installation to our satisfaction, but there were a couple of notes missing in the transition. He didn't know to secure the unit to the brackets, which was pretty important in our opinion and left fewer filters than previously expressed. We called the office to inquire about the transition and Steve Morrison came back out to ensure that everything was done correctly, and according to Rusk standard. We really appreciated the reassurance. Nobody likes to pay handsomely for unexpected replacement costs, but we feel good about our experience, and the new relationship we've formed with Rusk.

A system this new should not be failing repeatedly. The last time the owner, Matt, came out to repair it in April, we told him we were concerned that the air conditioner itself might be defective because of the constant problems. He told us to "trust him," reminded us that he owns the company, and assured us that if anything happened, he would come back out and take care of it. My husband believed him as he had been great to work with up until this point. Now, just a few months later, our HVAC has been broken for over a week. Despite the system still being under the warranty we were told the company provides, we cannot get anyone to respond. We have called and texted all three phone numbers we have for the company multiple times and have received no response. When you spend thousands of dollars on a new HVAC system, you expect reliable equipment and a company that stands behind its work. Instead, we've dealt with repeated breakdowns, unfulfilled promises, and now complete silence when we need warranty service. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend United Heating and Plumbing.
