I brought my vehicle in to have the driver's side door window installed. I had already supplied the…read morereplacement window. During the repair, I was told that the window regulator was broken. I do not believe that conclusion was adequately supported. The original window had been shattered, but the regulator itself appeared intact. There are also repair instructions available for this model showing that proper access to the regulator requires removal of the exterior door panel. My concern is that the repair was being attempted without removing that panel. I personally observed the work being carried out this way. I tried to explain the procedure I understood to be required, but my information was dismissed rather than considered. With an uncommon vehicle such as this, it is entirely possible for an owner who has researched the repair to have useful information about the procedure. I would have appreciated a more collaborative approach, particularly before concluding that an additional component was defective. The interaction with the technician also became unnecessarily dismissive. I was left with the impression that the focus had shifted from determining how the repair could be completed properly to defending the original assessment. Ultimately, I had to drive home in the rain with the driver's window completely missing and the replacement glass sitting loose in the passenger area. I was particularly concerned about the safety of transporting a large piece of glass in that manner, especially in the event of a collision. My concern is not simply that the repair was unsuccessful. Repairs do not always go as planned. My concern is that I observed an attempt to complete the repair without removing the panel necessary to properly access the regulator, while the information I provided about the procedure was dismissed. I believe the situation could have been handled much more professionally by reconsidering the repair procedure, verifying whether the regulator was actually defective, and ensuring the vehicle was left in a safe condition before I departed.

When the shocks and struts began causing problems again, I chose not to return to Lawson Auto because of my previous experience. Instead, I took my vehicle to a shop I trust, where they diagnosed and repaired the issue. I then contacted Lawson Auto regarding the warranty on the Monroe parts. They have been very reluctant to honor the warranty for the defective parts, despite the issue being related to the parts themselves. In the end they only paid me $500 of the $700 for the warranty parts. In addition, I felt I was spoken down to and treated dismissively as a female customer from the owner. The overall interaction was unprofessional and disappointing.

Harvey (the owner) said they would get to it today and give me a call. Turned out to be a clogged heater core typically $600-$1,000 to replace. Harvey said he was willing to do a chemical clean and flush for $225.00 that had a 90% success rate but no guarantee. The flush did the job and the Equinox is pumping out more heat than ever before. Total bill $224.00. That is not the best part, the shop is normally open 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Harvey worked on my vehicle until 7:30 p.m. so that he would have it back to me same day as promised. Incredible service, great attitude, and lowest cost for that repair you could possibly find. A new customer for life!!

Now to the good part...Idylwyld Auto Service/ Joanne and Steve. Not only were they able to get me in quickly, they were courteous, had great communication throughout and were soon were able to diagnose and fix the engine problem in less than 24 hours at a reasonable cost. Overall, Joanne and Steve are so amazing; once I got it to them my stress levels came way down. I'm definitely going back to them in the future if I have any other issues and I HIGHLY recommend them if you have car issues. They're honest, don't overcharge and very patient (as I was late picking up my car). Seriously. THE BEST!

I drive a Nissan Pathfinder; I recently moved to Saskatoon, was trying to avoid the dealership, and was looking for a mechanic that would be approved by Nissan warranty. Keep in mind that I understand very little about mechanics and vehicle care, and it is always something I dread having to do because it is all completely out of my realm of understanding; also keep in mind that I have paid for all my learned mistakes in this issue, thanks to Diversified Auto. Short story if you don't want to read my review: STAY AWAY FROM DIVERSIFIED AUTO! Long story: Diversified Auto assured me they could do Nissan warranty work. My Pathfinder was shuddering and shaking upon acceleration and from a quick google search, this could've been as simple as needing new spark plugs. Diversified Auto decided to immediately do a scan on the transmission only to find a code for a known recall/warranty issue involving the transmission; I later find out that this is a known bulletin that I would think those in the mechanic field would be aware of. After paying Diversified Auto $200 (!!) for this scan, I find out afterwards I could've had this done at Nissan for free. I can guarantee you that Diversified Auto knew this and took complete advantage of my naivety. I also needed my tires rotated and had this done in the same transaction (which, by they way, they forgot to do while I left my Pathfinder at the shop; I had to wait 45 minutes in the shop for them to do it after I reminded them). Then after, yes after, they rotated my tires, I am then informed that Diversified Auto is not equipped to reset the sensors in my tires, leaving me with a warning light on my dashboard. I was told by Diversified Auto to just take it to Nissan and they can do it for me, which I find out from Nissan (because of course that is where my Pathfinder ends up having to be!) is a $50 charge because it is not a simple procedure. Again, Diversified Auto took advantage of me not knowing about this sort of stuff. They have also ignored my message in trying to resolve this issue. Had Diversified Auto told me upfront that I needed to go to Nissan directly I would've had the utmost respect for them and would've referred others gladly. But they took advantage of me instead, and I promise I am telling everyone I know to stay clear of them because they are snaky and do not have their customer's best interest in mind.

I'm a Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic of 15 years but didn't have time to do the work needed so I took it to these guys as they claim to be "import specialists". I brought my Volkswagen TDI in to replace a clutch, dual mass flywheel and a RH lower ball joint. When I got the car back after the clutch repair I immediately noticed they changed the left hand ball joint; not the right hand one. The left and rights have different part numbers and are of a different geometry(they are not even interchangeable) When I started the car it had a service engine light on immediately that was not previously on. When I got back to my house I popped to hood to see DEF fluid spraying all over my engine bay. I quickly noticed that while doing the repairs on the clutch job they broke off the injector nozzle to my emissions system ($650 part from Volkswagen). I immediately went back into the shop the following day and voiced my concerns. They urged me to do an emissions delete rather than spending the money on replacing the injector nozzle. They admitted that the damaged injector was indeed their mistake and said they would do the necessary repairs to make it right. Three weeks later I picked up my car that was freshly deleted. However; they did NOT do anything to make it right. I was never credited with any sort of labour rate on the emissions delete for the damaged parts they broke while doing the clutch job and was charged for a ball joint installed on the wrong side that I later myself had to change the following day. I called Neil at Import Auto and got him to quote me for the same job. The quote he sent me to do the emissions delete was the same price as what Jason and his crew charged me. What started as a $1500 labour repair on a clutch job (I supplied the clutch) turned into an additional $2500 for a delete that I would never have had to do if they hadn't broke the injector. If I would have known they were going to charge me full price I would have just made them replace the $650 injector. I have left multiple emails with attached quotes from different shops asking for an explanation as to why with zero response. I can only imagine what this shop charges people that are not mechanically inclined. And I would be scared to see what a middle aged women's bill would be when she walks out. Extremely disappointing local shop. As an highly experienced mechanic; trust me, Do Not Go Here
