Dr. Weinfeld is an incredible plastic surgeon with a lot of experience, and he has the best bedside manner of any surgeon I've ever met. He spent so much time making sure he understood my concerns and validated me without making me feel self conscious at all. I want to share my experience so other patients, especially transgender patients and domestic violence survivors, can make informed decisions. After my nose was broken in an abusive incident, I contacted Dr. Weinfeld's office for a revision consultation. The first nurse was kind and said they could get me in quickly. When my financial situation improved a couple weeks later, I reached out again and explained the urgency. Another nurse then reviewed my message and told me they no longer wanted to take me on as a patient. This was very distressing, especially as someone reaching out for help after trauma. When I called to clarify, I received scripted, dismissive responses and no willingness to reconsider. I'm posting this so others know how the staff handled my situation. I anticipated a major deviated spetum surgery that I was not looking forward to. I met with Dr. Weinfeld to discuss the possibility of removing 10+ year old breast implants that I felt were causing some issues and an abdominoplasty after three pregnancies w/ very large babies and only being 5 feet tall. My abdominal muscles were stretched beyond exercise. My main concerns were: #1- Having to take a lot of pain meds and #2 blood clot post op. #1 - Dr. Weinfeld offered a pain management plan that I had never seen before that included non-opiod prescriptions to take to avoid having to use the opiods as much. I was given an instruction sheet that was really easy to understand and follow. Having both surgeries at the same time was a long operation and recovery but I with this regiment I was able to be comfortable and only had to take the opiod 2-3 times and that was in the first few days of recovery. #2 - I was able to speak to a patient who had recently had a similar combination of procedures that I did. She was also concerned about the blood clot possibility before her procedure and she was really reassuring. She was only about a month out from her surgery and was able to give me a lot of great tips for making my recovery easier. Jamie, Dr. Weinfeld's RN discussed my concerns with me and suggested that I speak to this patient and it was SO helpful to hear first hand. I am now six months post op abdominoplasty, implant removal with a breast lift and so happy that I went through with the procedure. The worst part was the anticipation and worry beforehand. When I decided to have rhinoplasty, I took the search for an amazing surgeon very seriously. I spent hours pouring over reviews on several sites, and asked around. I work with a woman who was a pharmaceutical rep for years, and she keeps a "best-of-the-best" list. Adam Weinfeld was her top guy for all things reconstructive. She had never even met the man, but she gathered her information from many medical professionals... Talk about high recommendations! After reading everything on his website, (I loved his mission statements and his eloquent command of language) and seeing his numerous before and after photo galleries, I decided to go for a consultation. First impression? He truly cares about my concerns and he's super easy to talk to. He wanted to see pictures of what I liked, (I had a celebrity Pinterest gallery on my iPad), he listened closely and we joked around a bit about the celebrities. After I stated what I wanted, I asked to him, "you're the artist, what do you think I need?" He swung his chair around, looked at me, and described *exactly* what I had in mind. Yes, let's book it!! Fast forward to surgery day... I arrived at the lovely surgery center and was greeted and tended to my the fine staff at Meridian surgery center. Vitals taken, IV started, and Dr. Weinfeld came to see me one last time before the start of the procedure to be sure we were on the same page as far as the desired outcome was concerned. Now it's "go-time" and I walked into the operating room and laid down on the table... That's the very last thing I can remember before waking up in the recovery area. Total black-out! Recovery over the next 6 days, (leading up to my post-op appointment) was pretty easy. I was prescribed 50 pain pills, but only needed 24. I was pain free in 3.5 days. During the post-op appointment, Dr. Weinfeld removed the splints and let me take a peek before applying tape to keep the swelling down for the next 3 days. Needless to say, I was beyond thrilled! And this is seeing the results only 6 days later! I have a cute little ski-slope nose! Bottom line, stop searching. You've found your artist... I mean, surgeon. Before I even had my surgery, I realized 2 of my clients, (I'm a hairdresser) have been to him as well. My nose was broken due to trauma and as a result, the bridge was quite crooked. I had wanted to get my nose straightened for both the obvious cosmetic issue, but I also had a deviated septum as well. Due to the deviated septum, my breathing in my left nostril was severely compromised. I had about 20% of the airflow that I should have had. I researched many plastic surgeons in central Texas and narrowed it down to a couple of my top choices that I then met with. Dr. Weinfeld's specialty is rhinoplasty surgeries and he does them very frequently. He stood out through his photos of his work, his accolades, his philosophy and his great patient reviews. After meeting with him, he was the clear choice. I needed a septoplasty and a rhinoplasty to get everything that I wanted (breathing improvement and symmetry). My insurance (BCBS) covered the septoplasty. The rhinoplasty was considered cosmetic, so I paid for that portion. Since I was already having surgery, I figured what the heck, I would have him make my nose a bit more feminine too. He explained thoroughly what to expect. We even sat down together and he did facial morphing to ensure that we were completely on the same page. Jaime, his nurse, is also incredibly knowledgeable and helpful as well. She always answered all my questions when I called and returned calls within hours if she missed them. They truly care about their patients. I have to admit, a few weeks after surgery, I noticed a small bump on the side of the bridge of my nose(!). I spoke to Jaime (I was concerned) and she brought me in for an earlier follow up. I had an amazing experience with Dr. Weinfeld and his team from the beginning. I was referred to him by my ENT to help straighten my nose/help with my breathing. During my first appointment, Dr. Weinfeld was very helpful in explaining how he could help me, what to expect from the procedure/recovery and how my nose would appear following surgery. He and his team were very thorough during pre-op and even provided me with tips, dietary suggestions and vitamins to help with recovery. I had bilateral mastectomies 30 years ago with reconstruction using implants. Over the years I have had problems with leakage and scarring. Dr Weinfeld gave me a rhinoplasty last week that involved some major downsizing. I got to see it for the first time today when he took off my cast, and I'm so happy with the way it looks. When it became clear that the pandemic would not be going away for a while, I used the additional downtime to reach out to Dr. Weinfeld in order to address my deviated septum. It had been mildly impacting my breathing abilities as I got older, but I never thought that it was worth addressing. When I first reached out to Dr. Weinfeld, he brought up the idea of my deviated septum not being too noticeable because my body had adapted to it over the years. He also brought up the concern of the deviated septum resulting in sleep apnea as I got older, and suggested that even though the chances of the deviated septum greatly impacting my health as I got older were small, it would still be worth addressing because of how essential proper breathing is. Seeing how I was going to be in quarantine for a while, I decided to go through with it, and I could not have made a better decision. It's been 6 months since my surgery, and ever since I have been able to sleep easier, work out more comfortably, and overall feel much better every time I take a breath. I am an RN and have taken care of dozens of Dr. Weinfeld's patients over the past ten years. Witnessing his care and the satisfaction of his patients made it a no brainer to choose him as my surgeon. I broke my nose when I was 16 and it left me with a deviated septum. I became a mostly mouth breather and felt like I was going to suffocate anytime my mouth couldn't get air. (while eating, pillow in the way while sleeping, etc.) I spent twenty years pretty miserable, in fear of having surgery. I was afraid I wouldn't look like myself and was also worried about the procedure and the recovery. Sitting here, six weeks post surgery I am kicking myself that I didn't do this procedure twenty years ago. I woke up in recovery and even with packing in my nose, I could actually breathe out of it. It was incredible. The pain medication that they prescribed was right on, I stuck to the schedule and never felt severe pain. I did several nasal flushes a day and that really helped when it came time to removing the packing. I highly recommend doing that. A month before surgery I cut out sugar, alcohol and stuck to a high protein, low carb diet and I think that helped with my healing process as well. I had some bruising and swelling but within two weeks several friends and family members told me they couldn't even tell that I had surgery. I literally searched for over 10 years for the doctor who could resolve my nose deformity. I had several surgeries prior to meeting with Dr. Weinfeld, a rhinoplasty, two septoplasty(s), and two sinus surgeries. The cartilage on the right side of my nose was literally gone causing my nose to cave in on that side. It was a very costly mistake when I selected Adam Weinfeld to do my rhinoplasty. The outcome looks terrible and I'm having a hard time breathing. I expressed my concerns multiple times and he brushed me off. I have since seen an experienced and well known plastic surgeon and he said I require a full revision, because Weinfeld was too aggressive with my cartilage and the tip graft was left too long. I was advised that my breathing will get worse over time. Yelp requires one star, but he doesn't deserve one !! read more

Dr. Weinfeld is awesome! I had a single breast mastectomy over 3 years ago with a partial reconstruction that became infected, so the expander had to be removed (complications and treatment all with different doctors). Years went by - with only one breast - and I was afraid I wouldn't have the courage to go through with reconstruction. Over that time, I had a couple scares with my remaining breast, and I had determined that when I had reconstruction, I was going to have my remaining breast removed and start over with reconstruction on both. I consulted with a couple of doctors who were not encouraging. Dr. Weinfeld was recommended to me by two different friends, and right from the first I could tell he was the doctor for me. He treated me like a person and not another breast cancer case. He was very encouraging and assured me that I was a candidate for the exact kind of reconstruction I wanted. I had a DIEP flap procedure and it went beautifully. I just had a fat grafting surgery to regain some more symmetry and he did some scar revision on the ends of abdominal wound - and I got nipples. I couldn't be happier. I feel more like my old self than I have since this cancer journey began, more like myself than I ever imagined. As I told Dr. Weinfeld, I feel like a butterfly - with new wings to fly. In fact, a butterfly seems an appropriate metaphor for my the end of my cancer journey, because I feel like I had been cocooned for the last 3 years, and was feeling quite helpless at times. After extensive research, I had a facelift by Dr. Weinfeld in Jan 2015. All of the females in our family realize that we inherited "Memaw eyes" meaning by the age of 40 we would need a blepharoplasty just to be able to see. My eyes have never been so beautiful! That is my favorite part. Before, I just didn't look like myself anymore. I was a happy, positive person but I looked like grumpy cat. Now I can smile. My cheeks and jowls are where they belong. I have literally been crippled for years with debilitating migraines. I had been going to neurologists who only made it worse. My experience with Dr.Weinfeld's office was so very different, from my very first visit. I used to hate to have to chat with preliminary staff prior to seeing the physician, predicting correctly that I would only have to retell my story to the doctor when he came in. I did a mental eye roll when Jamie came in to discuss my visit prior to seeing the doctor. However, I found that she fully engaged me and took the time to discuss and address my issues. I was still concerned when Rachel came in to discuss the treatment shortly thereafter, but she was already caught up on my case and there was no duplication of effort. These two ladies manage to be extremely friendly and caring, but are extremely efficient and very productive. When Dr.Weinfeld came in, I still expected to have to repeat myself, even though it all should have been in my chart by then. To my surprise, it was, and he was up to speed! He immediately addressed the fact that my type of migraine was probably different from that of the "one-size-fits-all" neurology protocol for Botox. He described his plan to customize my injections to more directly respond to my specific areas of pain. Ebony then tirelessly worked on getting my insurance to cover the procedure, and kept me informed on her progress. When I went in today I was taken immediately, seen quickly by the doctor who was current on what had been previously discussed. He took the time to reiterate it all again for my approval, then carefully injected according to what we agreed. This office and staff are truly exceptional, and I have every confidence that this treatment will address my particular pain. I was asked to call if for any reason it did not work as hoped...that in itself is unusual from a doctor! I had squamous cell skin cancer in the center of my left side of my face right under my cheek bone--It was deeper than originally thought--Today is the end of the 4th week after surgery and I met with Dr. Weinfeld, my surgeon today. I don't have to tell you that after surgery I had a BOAT load of stitches that started at my temple, curving over passed my cheek bone, down passed my nose to right under my chin! It was horrific when I first looked at it after surgery--There must have been 200 stitches in my face. I have followed Dr. Weinfelds instructions. I got my stitches out the following week--then he had me apply silicone scar patches to my scar until our visit today. My friends could NOT believe after TWO weeks how incredible my scar looked--you can barely TELL that I have had surgery. This man has the most blessed hands and is the MOST talented plastic surgeron--besides being a totally incredible NICE and concerned doctor. I have to go back in 3 months--Today he said they got every single BIT of the cancer--Told me the sunscreen to use forever now, and told me the nake-up to buy until the scar is gone-when I want to wear makeup--I HIGHLY recommend this doctor to ANYONE having surgery on their face or any kind of plastic surgery--I will NEVER ever have to look further than his office at Seton Institue for Reconstructive plastic surgery in BRACKENRIDGE hospital on 1400 1-35--for anything that has to do with scars--His specialty I heard from my other doctors is NOSES--This wasn't even his "specialty"--and he absolutely blows me away with how he tenderly took that cancer and, cut it out of my face and left me with a beautifully intact face!! From Mom: My 19 year old daughter had revision rhinoplasty with Dr. Weinfeld. The preoperative appointments were informative and comprehensive. Dr. Weinfeld and his staff supported us through the entire process, taking the time to answer all of our questions and address our concerns. He was especially caring in really listening to my daughter express her desired result and helping her understand the procedure completely. I asked for Juvederm Ultra injections for my laugh lines, so he recommended injections above my cheekbones (or where they used to be) in addition, explaining to me why it is recommended. I jumped on-board because I totally trust him. If anyone else would have told me that this would work I wouldn't have believed them. But it did work! And I LOVE the results. Staff was not familiar with what I should and shouldn't pay for upon arrival. Staff said visit was covered under insurance and then upon arrival said it wasn't covered and then 20 minutes after I arrived said it was covered. Dr entered room very forcefully and stood while talking to me while I was seated. Dr didn't have good bedside manner. Dr said staff would call me after I left - once they confirmed what my insurance would cover, staff will not call me or return my emails. I left the appointment feeling a bit dissatisfied and feel even more dissatisfied given their lack of response and professionalism. read more
