I'm now 7 weeks post op on a breast lift with fat grafting and a tummy tuck and flank lipo post major weight loss (135 lbs). I chose Dr. Reid after a lot of research on doctors that had experience with the type of skin that has been "almost ruined" (my own words) from being stretched so much from weight and also doctors that managed pain well, because I'm a big baby! Dr. Reid also is incredibly warm and friendly, in addition to being BRILLIANT! When you're looking into plastic surgery of any kind you initially go "good Lord that's expensive", BUT... I will say this, you're going to see those nurses and that surgeon SO MANY times post-op and not be charged any more. They will answer emails and phone calls to calm you down and fit you in same day if you're experiencing any kind of concerns and just want them to take a look. I've never healed as well from anything... not even a paper cut, as well as I have from this surgery. I know Dr. Reid uses a special fancy pants cutting tool that aids in healing better, and wow...I can tell. I also highly recommend you ask for the information of the private nurse that you can hire to take care of you after surgery. If I hadn't done that for the first 24 hrs my family would have been sooo overwhelmed. They can get you her info, I don't want to give it out, as she's a separate business, but this just shows how much they care about the success of their patients...by offering extra support that can help you. Their office also is a big fan of lymphatic massage, which I'm all in for. They have a person on staff that does it and I think she helped my healing a ton as well! I still have a long way to go, as this type of surgery has long term swelling, but I've come so far. I can't say enough wonderful words about this team. I came to Dr. Gordan after having a previous "reduction" at the Piazza Center with Dr. Piazza. I was initially an F and asked for a C cup... Dr. Piazza only took me down half a size and "augmented me". I put "reduction" and "augmented" in caps because he essentially did neither. In my opinion, the only thing he did was take my money, put me through unneccessary pain - physical and emotional, and give me scars. When Dr. Gordon saw me, I had mismatched, uneven, and very large and scarred breasts. She did such a wonderful job with my surgery, was very up front and honest with me about expectations. I cried so much post op from joy. The entire experience was so much better than what I had previously been through. I cannot sing her praises enough! I have not had any migraines, visual impairments, or back/neck issues since my surgery and I healed so much faster from my surgery with her than my previous one. Her staff is amazing - I'm talking from her assistant that booked my surgery to the nurses and the surgery center they use. They actually listened, made me feel heard and cared. My previous surgery made me feel like I was at a butcher shop, they didn't care I was having a hard time coming off the anesthesia, they needed me out to make way for the next slab of meat. I saw someone post something about pricing that bothered me so much! Until you experience the difference how could you see the value of Restora? I had a tummy tuck 5 years ago with a surgeon who did a great job but I had a dog ear. He closed his practice and now works at bigger corporate place WLD. After talking with tons of mostly women Restora was HIGHLY recommended by so so many people. Dr Reid is who did my revision. I was blown away at the difference in getting the surgery done with Restora. The day of surgery was so nice it was in their own private surgery center. My tummy tuck in 2017 was in a hospital like setting, The Dr came in and the anesthesiologist asked a few questions as they were wheeling me out of the room then BAM! I am blown away by the positive experience I have had at Restora Austin with Dr. Reid. The staff is extremely professional, friendly, and genuinely care about their patients. They made me feel right at home, comfortable, and took great care of me. My first encounter with Restora Austin was when I called their office and spoke with Stephanie on the phone. She was so kind, respectful, and friendly. Calling a Plastic Surgery Center for the first time can be a very nerve-racking experience. She made me feel so comfortable when discussing my body and the procedure I wanted to have done which was a breast augmentation. She was so friendly and professional and I immediately got a wonderful vibe from her. I had previously spoken to another Dr.'s office inquiring about the same surgery, but they did not give me the same feeling. Stephanie took the time to have a personalized conversation with me on the phone and answered a lot of my questions up front. The other Dr.'s office I called did not provide much information and I was told that I would learn more at my consultation. Speaking of the consultation, at Restora Austin my consultation with Dr. Reid was free, and it was actually with Dr. Reid himself. The other Dr.'s office that I called charged $50 for a consultation with a surgery specialist or $200 for a consultation with the actual Plastic Surgeon. At Restora Austin you get to meet your Plastic Surgeon during your consultation. That meant so much to me. I wanted to meet him and discuss the plans for my surgery with him, not with someone else who wouldn't even be doing my surgery! Dr. Reid was so friendly and professional. I had read all the reviews online before choosing him, so I expected this already. But he was great! He made me feel that he and I together were making the plans for my surgery. This place is doing God's work. I came in for some tummy work, but the docs recommended I actually get a breast reduction because I had back pain. I was a little offended but the results do not lie. I feel more confident and comfortable. No longer do I need to avoid walking by construction sites nor am I hooted and hollered at Hippie Hollow... And people look at my eyes, not my chest. I have never had a better physician experience in my life! From the 5 Star appearance of the office, to the extremely knowledgable staff to the brilliance that is Ashley Gordon, MD. I've had 3 c-sections and a hernia, which left my naval and stomach stretched out and puffy, regardless of my diet and exercise regime. I didn't think I had enough skin for the procedure I had done: Tummy Tuck, but Dr. Gordon spent time explaining and actually showing me in the mirror why this was the best option for me. I also had her remove and replace my breast implants to a slightly larger size to enhance the youthful and "perkiness" I so wanted after nursing my 3rd baby. I got a nose job with Dr. Reid last year and I am about to get it revised by another doctor. He just didn't do what he said he would do--he was supposed to shrink the size of my nose, get rid of a bump, straighten it out, and reduce a hanging columella. He did not succeed at any of those things. It is slightly smaller, but still large and looks very unnatural. There is also a residual bump on one side, so it looks more crooked than before. The hanging columella was barely reduced and is still prominent. The columella also became dislodged shortly after surgery, making the tip look very asymmetrical and "operated on". When I tried to explain this in a post-op visit, he dismissed my comments and quickly left the room. If you want good plastic surgery, see someone who only performs one type of surgery and specializes in that area. Doctors who do a bunch of different procedures just don't get the experience necessary to do any of them well. I also recommend looking for a doctor who offers you a copy of your simulated result and who volunteers to redo any unsatisfactory result for free. Dr. Reid does not let you keep a copy your simulations, probably because they will not resemble the actual outcome. He also grudgingly said that in very rare cases, he will do a free redo, but to be honest, I'd much rather pay the $10,500 that my new surgeon is charging than to let Dr. Reid attempt to fix it for free. On a different note, I noticed on the Restora website that they no longer have before and after photos for rhinoplasty. A skilled surgeon has happy, thankful patients who will gladly provide their before and after photos to help other patients with their decisions. Lastly, the only reason that they have good reviews on various websites is because they send out an email shortly after surgery soliciting your reviews. A month after surgery, you are still too swollen to see the final result. I was fairly happy one month after surgery, and it took several months for the final, disappointing result to appear underneath all that puffiness. It also took a few months for me to admit to myself how bad it looked. **EDIT: Dr. Reid left a comment about my review. Unfortunately, a patient who is unhappy with her result in public is far more disappointing to him than one who is unhappy while in his office. If he was genuinely disappointed about my unsatisfactory outcome, then he would message me personally, and not just comment publicly. This suggests that he cares more about potential new patients and their money and than dissatisfied old patients and their poor results. It cost me $13,000 to repair Dr. Reid's work (including the surgeon's fee, anesthesiologist, and operating room). The revision turned out wonderfully and was worth every penny. It's taken me about two months to write this review because I was nervous that I would not be able to express the breadth of my gratitude for Dr. Reid and all of the wonderful women at Restora Austin. Well, here goes... I made an appointment for a consultation with Dr. Reid in 2011 after researching several Austin surgeons. Dr. Reid's reviews were fantastic, so I made the call. The rest, as they say, is history. Perky breasts were never an attribute I possessed, even as a teenager, and I had been miserable with the size and weight of my sagging breasts since as long as I could remember. The day of my initial consultation with Dr. Reid was fraught with both excitement and apprehension. I imagined an office full of Barbie dolls and a surgeon who would not only discuss my breasts, but also point out all of my other faults. That prejudgement could not have been further from the truth and I was pleasantly surprised that the office was not full of barbie- like automatons. All of the employees are natural, gorgeous, and above all kind and highly professional. Dr. Reid is a genial, enthusiastic, and a true gentleman. He, along with the amazing Brandy, discussed my options and I left feeling elated, even though I knew that I would not be able to afford the operation for sometime. They followed up with me several times nonetheless. It felt as if they really cared about my needs as a human being and a patient. Fast forward two years and I could finally afford the surgery. I returned to Restora for another consultation. We together decided that I would be happy with a lift and an implant to fill out my shapeless bosom. I was excited to finally be able to have the procedure, so much so that it almost felt like a dream. I had my misgivings about the implant part of the procedure and so I went back to Restora for two more consults, just to be sure. I was not charged for the consults and they welcomed me back each time with open arms and smiles on their faces. The last consultation really showed me once again what a remarkable person Dr. Reid truly is. I was worried that the implants would be too heavy and I described as best I could the way I wanted to feel in my body after the procedure. He blew me away because he suggested that maybe a lift and a reduction would actually be better for me. The amazing part was that he would have made a few thousand dollars more had we stayed with the initial procedure that included implants. It was then that I truly knew I'd selected the right surgeon for me. Dr. Reid is not solely concerned with monetary gains nor does he want to make all women look the same. Instead, I believe his goal is to make people feel good in their own bodies. He is the exact opposite of what I expected from a plastic surgeon. Beyond his huge heart, Dr. Reid is a master surgeon. I had the procedure on December 20th 2013 and couldn't be happier. I barely had any pain, swelling, or bruising. Oh, and my breasts look and feel great! I feel that she has the patient's best interest in mind as she wasn't "selling" me the laser treatment that I thought I would need for my biking accident. The first time I met Dr. Gordon and her nurse Leslie, I knew I was in very capable hands. These ladies are amazing, sweet, compassionate and quite fun! They listen. They were with me every step of the way and made me feel special. Laser Resurfacing with Jenny! Where can I start? I contacted the Restora team about getting the laser resurfacing treatment done for my residual acne scars, and choosing them was the best decision I could have made. Out of everyone I contacted in the Austin area, they were by far the best I encountered in terms of customer service and assistance! Roxy, the Laser and Injectables coordinator, was nothing less than fabulous the entire time!! She was always helpful and knowledgeable about any questions I had. Jenny, who preformed the laser resurfacing on me is extremely talented. She did an amazing job, and listened to my concerns and addressed them. She was also very understanding when it came to me needing a moment in between rounds due to the intensity of the laser. She also gave me a ton of pointers about what to do post opp and was honest and upfront with me. My skin is healing beautifully now and I can honestly say due to the treatment I had done, I have gotten rid of pretty much all my residual acne scars.
