Of all the contractors I've dealt with owning a home in the past 13 years, Sam has come the closest to being a homeowner's dream and I've dealt with a lot of them.... Sam is a good decent family man to begin with and very easy to work with. He listen to your wants/needs and always has ideas/options to offer. He's not beating you down with a cookie cutter plan and rushing you for a signature. It actually took a couple of months from the time we first meet and signed a contract. Above all he was reasonable in his pricing. Not the cheapest but also not a rip off like most contractors who sends out a sales person to beat you down for an autograph but has to constantly make phone calls to check in with their boss if certain things could be accomplished or not.... Sam owns the company and he's the boss. No one else above him. He comes to you and you only deal with him directly from A to Z. I love that. Secondly, the time frame whereby the project was accomplished from start to finish (including touch ups and city inspections) was exactly 6 weeks. The project consisted of replacing 60 year old sewer pipes from both bathrooms all the way to the street (city's connection), to build back the master bathroom to its original state and a total complete remodel of our hallway bathroom. New walls, floors, vanity, toilet, drains, shower....etc etc His workers were here everyday until the bulk of the project was completed. They even worked on some Sundays. They never went missing for a few days like most contractors do when they have to pull workers from one job to start or finish another job. This happens a lot when greedy contractors secure more jobs than they're physically able to handle without becoming a nightmare to home owners. Thirdly and most importantly, the project was realized exactly how I imagined it in my mind. Very happy with the results. There were a few hiccups here and there with cracked and chipped tiles but those were taken care off immediately without delay or hesitation. Marvin the tile master, Carlos the electrician/drywall finisher, and Henry the plumber were the main players of the project and these guys know what they're doing. The only suggestion I would offer is for them to be a little more detailed oriented especially for difficult customers like me All said and done, we are very happy with the entirety of the project from the first time we meet Sam until the last day we wrote him the final check. I would definitely recommend Sam of AD Remodeling to any homeowner who's looking for peace of mind when it comes to realizing their home improvement dreams.

5 stars so far, and I hope to come back and update this review when our ADU is complete!…read more This review reflects our experience through the signing of our ADU contract. Construction has not started yet, so I cannot speak to the building process or the finished product. But everything we have experienced so far has been so positive that I felt Preferred Home Builders truly deserves five stars at this stage. After an extremely frustrating experience with a different contractor, I feel compelled to share what we learned for anyone embarking on the ADU journey: do not fall for charlatans, empty promises, lousy sketches, or requests for too much money upfront. Take your time, ask questions, and look for a professional who is willing to invest the time and expertise needed to understand your project before asking you to commit. That is exactly what we found in Nir at Preferred Home Builders. From our very first meeting, Nir has been professional, punctual, courteous, knowledgeable, and incredibly patient. Before we signed a contract, and before he even knew whether he would get our business, he invested more than 10 hours of in person meetings with us, in addition to extensive email communication. That level of commitment made a huge impression on us. Our ADU site presents some challenges because of the hilly terrain. Nir took the time to understand those challenges, assess them carefully, and come back to us with thoughtful options rather than making unrealistic promises or glossing over potential complications. Another thing that really impressed us was the level of detail that went into the budgeting process. We completed an extensive questionnaire covering everything from major decisions such as windows and doors to seemingly tiny details, such as how many sconces we wanted by the entrance and whether they should be on the left or right. The result was a remarkably detailed budget that leaves very little, if anything, to be figured out later. After our previous experience, the difference has been night and day. So, at this stage of the process, I cannot recommend Preferred Home Builders highly enough. Nir is clearly at the top of his game, and we are very happy to be working with him. I look forward to coming back to update this review once the ADU is completed, hopefully with another five stars and plenty of pictures to share!

We hired this team for a major structural renovation--adding a loft in our high-ceiling living…read moreroom, building a wet bar underneath it, and replacing our kitchen's back door and window with a beautiful bifold door. (Note: The furniture bar cabinets and library were added later on and were not part of this contractor's project). From start to finish, the entire team was extremely professional, dedicated, and highly skilled. On the very first day we met, Nir helped design a 3D view of the project that perfectly captured exactly what we had envisioned. Throughout the build, we had a weekly walkthrough with Nir to check if we had any questions or concerns, which kept communication incredibly clear. Elba was also an excellent project coordinator who was always available to answer our questions and keep everything on track daily. The construction crew themselves were clearly very experienced and knowledgeable; they followed our approved plans meticulously and were happy to accommodate extra requests along the way. You can truly gauge the quality of their work by the fact that every single city inspector visit passed on the first try--nothing ever had to be rescheduled or redone because everything was built perfectly to plan. Additionally, all of the finishes--from the drywalling to the trim work and paint--were done with high-quality materials and top-tier craftsmanship. Overall, it was a great experience, and we highly recommend them!

He was always there to answer every question and someone from the team was always able to walk me through every process and give great design and construction advice. You can tell they take great pride in what they do and actually care about their clients. I like that they're a family-run business as well. This was my first attempt at investing in a rental income property and was very nervous about finding the right contractors to do the job well, for a fair price. I received several other quotes, but so glad I chose CB. David Moshe was my main contact there. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and straightforward about what needed to be done and where potential problems might be. From day one, everything went smoothly and efficiently. I was given a clear work timeline and payment schedule. Was informed about each step as they progressed. It was a tremendous amount of work to be completed in 3 months, which they did. David was patient and understanding with my many requests and questions, and immediately solved any issues that came up. Wish I knew all the names of the crew as well. They were all highly skilled, professional, and respectful of my property. I wouldn't hesitate to use Cavalier Builders for future projects and highly recommend them as well.

After meeting with several contractors, I decided to hire TRX Builders for my home in Redwood City, they had been referred by a neighbor. Danny and Debra had the best value quote, not the highest or the lowest but what really gained my confidence was that the crew came out to confirm that a wall I wanted removed was not a load bearing wall, before making the proposal. My project was executed in record time we upgraded the electrical power to enable the induction range was a challenge. Initially, before the project began, Danny and Debra explained to me various ways this could be done and what the codes required. The team had to redo the wiring in several places, which required opening the ceilings in the laundry room and hallways. It was a lot of work but came in on budget and the impacted areas were left looking new! Danny and Debra were regularly on site and in regular communication with me, always checking to see that things were done to my satisfaction. The construction crew were all very professional and great at their crafts. TRX Builders went above and beyond to make sure that the project looked great and functioned well, including painting areas that I hadn't foreseen would need to be addressed.

He did some drywall repair work at my mothers house and I then referred him to my condo buildings HOA. He did some minor things there and came off as a GC. We then hired him to do a concrete project because he fast talked us into believing he was knowledgeable and had vendors that worked for him. During that project he singlehandedly annoyed everyone in the building. Aside from the fact that he talks and BS's way too much he makes uncomfortable comments and remarks and makes owners feel very uneasy. As if all that wasn't enough, he kept trying to add in extras and hike up our bills. Before all of this was really coming to light I had contracted him to do some more work at my mothers house because he was able to beat the competing bids I had and I stupidly figured I could tolerate his annoying demeanor. BIG MISTAKE. He promised the job would be completed in 3.5 weeks. IT WAS OVER 10 WEEKS. He proceeded to hire random people to do jobs he said he was able to do. He harassed me over and over for upfront payments when the work was not being completed. Weeks at a time would go by with no shows, late appearances, etc. He made a complete mess and did not clean any of it up, he did not complete the job he was paid to do, he also caused a scene in front of my home with one of his "employees" screaming and making threats and proceeded to yell and scream in the house frightening my daughter and her friend who were doing homework. He also did not pay his "employees" who worked on my mothers home. Anyway I can go on and on but you get it.
