2 Main reasons for 5 stars rating. 1) EFFECTIVENESS. Mom felt better after treatment and the improvement (less suffering) was obvious. 2) HUMANITY. Susan sensed our desperation and admitted my mom beyond normal business hours. We're talking about late Saturday afternoon that turned into evening after the session. Can't stress enough how employees from several big corporations have denied me 2 gallons of milk when the clock hit midnight on the dot. Also, a prominent car rental company almost ruined our weekend get away because it was time to clock out. This is expected but there are good folks out there too. One being Acureverse. I don't take this for granted. It is an exceptional act of kindness and compassion. DETAILS: Mom tweaked her back in the morning to the tune of 10/10 pain. So much so that she was not herself. Didn't help that she's on the low side of pain tolerance. She was miserable. Emergency Room gave her Norco for pain relief but the side effect (nausea, vomiting) had a worse net effect. She made sure that I was well informed all though and relaxed. She constantly adjusted the pressure based on my pain level. I do CrossFit so I had a quiet a few problem areas. After a year of essentially no movement in recovery on a small tendon tear, I turned to acupuncture before spending a huge chunk of change on other western treatments. I was surprised how well I relaxed (the goal is to fall asleep, and somehow I did that looking like a voodoo doll) despite it being in a somewhat medical/sterile environment. Cost: Accepts my insurance so it was cost efficient for myself -- I would inquire with Mia and your carrier to see if you are covered as well as I know most carriers have "alternative" treatments such as acupuncture covered. I was referred to Sun Therapeutic by my orthopedic doctor after a bad car accident. I was skeptical at first about going to an acupuncture specialist due to my past experiences ( I didn't see lasting improvements.), but I decided to try it again to reduce the terrible neck pain. Going to Sun Therapeutic changed my mind about acupuncture. Susan's treatments and the results of the treatments were unlike any other acupuncture I experienced. First, she carefully examines the body and figures out the condition of your muscles in connection to your bones. Then she inserts needles deep into muscles of the needed area(s). As the needle goes in I literally feel the muscles are releasing all the tension (It is euphoric!). After all needles are placed in the body, you lay down for 20 minutes or so.
