They try so hard to make money that they border on dishonesty. After dilating my pupils and doing the regular exam, the doctor said to me, 'we have very competitive prices for glasses and contact lenses, would you like to check out our glasses while we prepare your paperwork?' I said why not. Then the staff came in, saying 'ok, now we'll take advantage of your dilated pupils!'. Yeah, funny. I tried some glasses on, liked a pair. $500. But she says, 'you have a very good insurance, you only have to pay $100 out of your pocket for this pair.' I said ok, if it's $100. She prepares all the paperwork and comes back saying, 'well, there was some misunderstanding, your charge will be $300, but it's still a great price, would you like to sign this?' I said no. The she continues, 'we also have a great price for contacts. With your insurance, you just have to pay $70 for a full year supply (I use daily disposables).' I say that's great, sign me up. One week later, I got my contacts in mail, 1/2 year supply. I call them. They say 'Hmm, there must have been a misunderstanding. What would you like to do?' I say 'return it, dummy'. (The last word I didn't say.) I had to visit the office again to return it and I ended up ordering my contacts online for a much better price. The doctor also insisted that I make two visits to ensure that I get the right prescriptions. I was hesitant but he insisted, saying that it'll all be covered by my insurance. I ended up with a $150 bill from them since there was a cap on my policy. If I had known, I wouldn't have done the second visit. Sure I should have known my policy completely and then some of these could have been avoided, but they are certainly not trustworthy and I'm definitely not going back. read more

I am very impressed with the level of service received by the entire team. Absolutely great and caring staff. I have had experience with both Dr. Farajnia & Dr. Mojallal; they are both very professional and caring. The receptionist (Ms. Leslie) definitely knows her job and has been very helpful regarding my appointments and my orders. Dr. Farajnia and Dr. Mojallal are also very professional and explained to me in details the condition of my eyes and answered all of my questions. Where to start! They are great at getting you in the door. For that!!! A few days ago we got a return call from this office where they stated that our insurance would cover a specific pair of lenses for my toddler. We provided all the necessary insirance information before scheduling the appointment it was re-confirmed that they only carried 2 frames made to fit a 2 year old. And on top of that, they were covered under my childs health plan. This is very disapointing, We not only scheduled to be off from work, but we spent one hour of our lives that we are not going to get back. Your practice is absurd. I would not recommend you. And as a second piece of advice do something about your cobb webs your main entrance is full of them. OMG! read more

Started seeing Dr. M back in 2014 after a concussion. He recommended vision therapy which helped restore my eye muscles. The vision therapist at the time was outstanding. Since then I have appointments every 3 months for the past 5 years to monitor eye health due to MS. Eye pressure was monitored and when necessary he prescribed medication for treatment. Vision therapy was not pushed further than necessary, schedules appts and tests as to not wear out my eyes and cause headaches. There has never been a problem with purchases glasses or contacts from and alternate provider. He takes his time to answer questions and is thorough. At first my husband was skeptical, but he now sees him too. Glasses, etc have never been pushed on him. read more

Money wasted here. Any positive reviews that you see must have come from them, their family or friends. You will have a problem getting your records from here. They performed some tests on my eyes. When I asked them to send me my records they said it would be $20. At my second appointment they said they needed to perform one more test. They repeated the same test and charged me again. This time when I asked them for my records the cost suddenly doubled to $40. I signed the medical release form so that my records could be transferred to another doctor. They selectively send some information to the doctor - the tests were not even mentioned. I absolutely do not recommend them. read more

I had a great experience with Acuity Vision Care as a new patient about two years ago and I have become their regular patient since then. Dr. Farajnia and Dr. Mojalal are patient, friendly, and knowledgeable in their field. They have been always available to address my questions and I feel very confident in their expertise. The office is fully equipped with the recent medical devices to perform variety of tests for all kind of eye problems. A family member and I visited this facility for our yearly eye exams and came away very unimpressed. The eye exam (refraction) itself seemed to be ok, I was vary frustrated at the way the Dr. pushed Vision Shaping Therapy (orthokeratology) and other treatements that are not well-proven or recommended by most vision care professionals. The optician then tried to push me into buying some hideous frames while the other staff member tried to get us to sign up for "care credit" to pay for the extremely expensive vision shaping therapy. The real kicker came two weeks later when the office called me wondering why I was not at the followup appointment. While I had discussed the need for a followup, I had never set this appointment! I highly recommend checking other options if possible. read more

I had been going to those McDonald's style optometrist for years, until I came across Dr. Mojallal. I adore the Dr. & his staff. He took his time with the exam. It was the most thorough and complete exam I've ever had. I truly did not know all that I had been missing. He has a wonderful selection of frames. They are reasonable priced and of good quality. NOT like my previous frames that fell apart on me, after paying an arm and a leg. I've recommended him to all my friends and family. Now that I've found him, I will never go anywhere else. read more

I visited this optometrist in December of 2011. The front desk person was very cordial and pleasant but to my surprise she also performed the peripheral vision test. After 15 minutes of pushing the buttons I found out that she had screwed up the test and I had to do it all over again. At this point I was annoyed BIG TIME! Then the doctor showed up and after doing his tests my anger went away. I was pleasantly surprised on how knowledgeable the doctor was. I've been wearing glasses since I was 15 and I consider myself an informed patient because I've seen all kinds of eye doctors. I found out about "Acuity Vision Care" from a friend of mine. I was there last week for my annual eye exam. After seating down for less than a minute I was greeted by the Doctor who was a very nice man. Eye exam went well. I have astigmatism but I am comfortable without wearing eye glasses. He explained to me why I still feel comfortable without wearing eye glasses. I think he is good doctor and very honest person. Great experience. read more

I think it's hard to find good doctors that care and are willing to take the time to listen and provide explanations to your questions and concerns. This is why, I have been a patient of Acuity Vision for a few years now. Everyone in the office is so caring and helpful. Dr. Mojallal and Dr. Farajnia are the best. They don't make you feel rushed and they take the time to explain everything. The staff is also great, they are very friendly and provide a great experience. Any positive reviews from this office must be from friends and/or family members... I went to Dr. MOJALLAL as they said they accepted my Cigna insur. My daughter was having vision issues (peripheral vision 5 % and 20/200 preacription) following a concussion and we needed to see if eye therapy would help. After 3 months of sessions and no improvement at all we get a bill in the mail that said you are not covered $1000.00 . BEWARE. they are well aware how the insurance companies work and that they will only cover a certain amount and appt time and neglected to say so. What a waste of time and $ and we saw no results. We are now with a very capable Dr. in McClean and have seen results with in home treatments that have only cost what 2 sessions did at this office. AVOID THIS OFFICE . Although located away from major shopping centers, Dr. Mojallel offers a level of care and knowledge not usually found among optometrists at ordinary higher volume store-front locations. Dr. Mojallel specializes in patients with particular vision difficulties, such as "low vision" and double sightedness. In addition to his own specialization, he has on premises a highly trained technician with tools for conducting long term visual training exercises. read more

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GO HERE!!!! The review below about bordering on dishonesty is completely accurate. I wish I would have listened and found somewhere else to go. I have been wearing the same contacts for many years and have been to several optometrists in my life as I have moved from state to state. Here at Acuity Vision Care they charged me a $500 "fitting fee" in addition to the costs of the exam and lenses. This "fitting" session took about 7 minutes and consisted of the optometrist looking to see if the new set of the exact same contacts I have been wearing for years fit properly. I have never been charged a fitting fee by any other optometry practice before. Ever. Not even when I was first fitted for contacts. $500 for less than 10 minutes of their time is criminal!! After I complained I was refunded a whopping $100 of this made-up money making scam of a fee. I cannot emphasize enough how much of a rip off this place is. Please please please do not go here. I feel like I was completely ripped off and duped. To top it off, the care given can be described as mediocre at best--not even worth half of what I paid for it.
