Very helpful and friendly service. They gave me a referral for a contractor who could help weatherize my home to deter moisture.

My communications…read morewith them up until this point seemed very professional and straightforward, and I was in a panic when I discovered the asbestos issue, so I told them to go forward with abatement. I researched online and learned that abatement of mastic on hardwood floors can be done by scraping or sanding or other methods, and the guy who refinished my hardwood floors a couple years ago got it off of the floor and refinished the wood without issue, so I assumed this would be the case. When I came home, I was horrified when I realized they had cut out all of the hardwood boards out of my kitchen and removed them, instead of scraping and sanding the hardwoods. I'm now out $1800 AND I literally don't have a floor anymore. When I spoke to them over the phone, I was assured that removing the boards was the ONLY way to address the issue, which is simply untrue. I feel like an idiot for not researching other abatement companies, as it was a decision I made in panic. It's too late now, but now I'm researching and finding all of these other companies that offer abatement in Portland for hardwood flooring where the mastic can be removed. When I saw photos of other local companies work post-removal, I felt even more like an idiot. There was no need for me to lose my floors entirely in this process. This has been a nightmare. I was told this company specializes in abatement, but it seems they specialize in demolition, and ensure abatement in the process of said demolition. Unless you're looking to tear out a wall or a floor or cabinetry entirely, I would not recommend.

My entire home including closets and exposed ductwork in the basement had asbestos and they were able to complete the work in 4 days total and worked around my family's needs so that we could be home when we needed to be. The ceilings look so good, even my texture guy is impressed!

I started getting respiratory symptoms 6 months ago and had to see a pulmonologist, who prescribed…read moremedications for presumed asthma diagnosis. I was aware of what I thought was just " mildew" under my bed- my dog comes in from the rain, sleeps under there, little air flow- I didn't think much of it. But my cough got more severe and I was using albuterol several times a day. I was kinda freaked out about how out of breath I was. So I decided to tear the bed down and shampoo the carpet...everything got worse from there. When I shampooed I wore a mask, but the next day I went into the room and the fans were blowing all around, and I immediately had a severe reaction and was violently vomiting. I had to go to urgent care for a nebulizer treatment and steroids. I had to sleep on the couch and couldn't even go in without an n95 mask, and would still have an asthma attack afterwards. I was SO SICK! I even had to call into work 2 times. This was crazy, though, right? Just mold! What is going on? Then I read about mycotoxin illness and it's bad! So I look for mold remediation on the internet, talk to some people and ask about experiences...and come to the conclusion this is going to be an expensive chemical nightmare that only ends temporarily... But I keep looking and come across BIORGANIC MOLD REMOVAL. I'm suspicious of a bait and switch like all the other " safe" remediation had lead me on with... But no! Here was something that made total sense! Mold eating probiotics- a living and lasting continuous solution that was even healthy! I did some research and found out that not only do probiotics eat mold, they help treat people with mycotoxin illness! This is a true scientifically backed statement- look it up on PubMed- the only place to go for research based medical facts and studies. So I did it! Peter ( owner operator) told me I could stay in the house while he treated, but that I could expect some signs of detox myself! I was like WHAT? DETOX? YES! Let's do it! So what blew my mind was how much better I felt after he was done treating! No joke! The probiotics have sort of a woody, yeasty smell to them, but that dissipates after a few hours. They don't leave a residue on windows or anything else. I even had him do my truck! Peter showed up at my house on time and told me that he wasn't planning on treating at that visit, because he had used up all his product on the previous job and would just like to evaluate that day. I became panicky- I was SO SICK! When I told him how sick I was he said he would go get the supplies and come back right away- an hour out of his way! It showed me that he really cared about me as a human, not just a customer. I am all about Biorganic mold removal, and you know what? He is the ONLY game in town with this special service- something Oregonians would be way into doing if they were aware of his company. I hope to expand people's knowledge with my review!

I don't know who recommended Alpha, but I sure wish that they hadn't. The installer came out, saying there was only one place the system could go, which was outside a bedroom. He installed without hooking up the electrical, which has said he wasn't qualified to do. That meant that we had to engage an electrician, the charge falling to us, something that the sales offer didn't cover, an unexpected extra expense. When the system was switched on, the noise was excessive. Not just noise, but the vibration in the house. It was kind of like trying to sleep in the same room with a really bad 1970s refrigerator about to die. The only person from Alpha who came back to check on the system was the radon level test person, who said that he knew nothing about dealing with noise issue. I spoke with Arial on the phone, whose only response was: the fan is the quietest in the industry and, the system was installed in the only place possible on the house. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, he said he would look into it and call back. He never did. Doing my own online exploration, I found that possibilities include a defective fan motor, changing where the system was strapped to the house, adding padding between the strapping and the house, and/or adding sound dampening inside the system. None of these options were even suggested by Alpha. Service after the sale from Alpha was abysmal. I feel like they took the money and ran.
