I recently used Action Messenger Service to deliver some packages, and it was a complete letdown. I was charged for a van, despite my items--a couple of boxes--easily fitting in a car. It obviously was a blatant upcharge. Then, they tacked on an outrageous weight fee, claiming my boxes were heavier than they were. I weighed them myself at home--under 20 pounds total! It's like they pulled the number out of thin air to pad the bill. The whole experience left a sour taste. There is no customer service to complain to. I've used other delivery services before, and honestly, any of them would've been better--faster, cheaper, and less shady. Save yourself the headache and avoid Action Messenger Service. On 3 different occasions we have had items mysteriously "disappear" from our deliveries from Action Messenger. The supervisor Ryan was completely unapologetic and without remorse for our situation - we needed the items the next day for photo shoot. The driver took 2 hrs. to get from downtown to Hollywood with a "drop off" even though his van only had our stuff in it - the worst feeling of all was they didn't pretend to care about it! From the owner Art to all the men and women that work for him this company should go national that is how good they are. Of course I have used them for the typical things. Going to as store or dropping off a letter or important paperwork to someone. My sister turned me on to them. She uses them constantly as well. Here is where they really shine. They will not say no. I've decided after many years of using AMS to give this review. My office normally calls and gets the service but I decided today to call and have them pick up a package (small) from my house this time. All I can say is "Action" is the perfect name for this company... Amazed, I didn't order the quick delivery, but I swear, (which I hate doing) the package arrived within 20 minutes from door to the other person's door. Overall - the gent that showed up was very nice, and when I phoned, they paid attention to the details, and voila, everything was done! My review is an average between the service from the woman in customer service (0 stars) and the driver that picked up the items (5 stars). I didn't want to round up to 3 since the woman in customer service really deserves a negative 2 star review. I needed a last minute courier and my go to courier wasn't available so I found Action Messenger through Yelp. I'm glad I was able to get some help but I don't think I'll use Action again based on the bad attitude of the customer service rep that answers the calls. Great company! Packages always delivered on time!

I have seen some shady business practices and sadly these guys fit in. The drivers are rude and don't care about other people's property. I came out and found a van parked next to my car real close. Upon further inspection I see a huge dent in my car. White paint and fresh I ask the driver why he hit my car. He pretended like he didn't know but after I showed him how his passenger door met perfectly with the damage. He got crass and admitted that he was wrong. Now it's been almost four months and they still haven't got back to me so it's off to filing a claim. read more

DO NOT TRUST THEIR DRIVERS!!!! This is a long overdue review but needed to be done. I had bought shipping service from Greyhound and they contracted with AMS to pick up my large storage bins to take to a Greyhound Station. The driver was 2 hrs late, but that was fine since I needed to box more things up. His name was Jarareo, just in case it matters. I asked if I wanted to add more boxes, if it would cost more since I already paid for the pickup, he said no. So I added those boxes. Greyhound would later charge me more. I helped the driver load up the van and gave him a tip of $20. I had a few more boxes to ship, so a few hours later, I took them to the GreyHound bus station. I was surprised to see my boxes still there since they were scheduled to go out on the morning bus. I asked the clerk, and she said she's glad I came by because she couldn't ship the items as they were because they were OPEN! She said she brought it up with the said deliver guy, but he was in a rush to leave and wouldn't answer her questions or assist her. I check my belongings and yes, they were valuable things missing. Over $1000 worth. It didn't take Sherlock Homes to figure out what happened. The Greyhound office was in plane site of the public and there were tons of police around who regularly visited with the greyhound clerk, who was a small lady. So, it wasn't the Greyhound employee who went through my things. The parking lot where the deliver van would have had to park due to construction was the same area I had to park and it was secluded. And based on the time stamps of when the items were dropped off, it was more than an hour from when the items were picked up. I lived 10 mins from station and the van was full. 2+2? I contacted the manager at AMS and let him know what had happened. He said he couldn't do anything unless I had proof...meaning video, eyewitness etc. I filed a police report and such...but lesson learned. read more

Called, asked about if they could ship state to state, they said Yes, i asked if they could do 24 hours, they said No, i asked how late they could accept packages, guy said "You have to have an account with us", and then i would have proceeded to go forward, and he hung up. Maybe it was a mistake? It seemed weird... he seemed grumpy tho. But i called back, and they picked up and hung up right away. WTF? Have no idea why they would do that unless they are running a criminal business or the guy answering wanted to sabotage his own biz. Either way, blurg. read more

I was working for action messenger last year its a bad company , my assignment was to deliver packages for amazon . Action messenger gave me two of the worst trainers and when I asked to have one more day of training they fired me . The first guy that was going to train me took me to his house to eat for 4 hrs (estimate) and didnt teach me how to deliver . The second trainer was being lazy instead she had me driving for her from 8am to 9pm .Didnt teach me anything .The worst part the 2 rides alongs you only get paid 100 dollars flat and it doesnt matter if you do over time youll be making 100 each day for those 2 ride alongs , so the day I worked from 8 am to 9 pm I only made 100 dollars worst company. read more

Terrible Experience. I paid extra for the "Exclusive" service, which means your package is supposed to go directly from you to your destination. My destination was 20-30 minutes away. After an hour passed with no delivery, I called Action and was told that the messenger might have had some other stops along the way. They did not seem to care that I had paid for rush service. It took almost 2 hours to arrive. Oh, and I even confirmed with the driver in person that this was going direct and he clearly lied to my face. A JOKE. read more

OMG! We were desperate for a competent delivery service during Oscar week. These people are amazing. I liked that they were honest and said it would take more time than usual. It was crunch time for us. On 3 occasions they came through in record time. They obviously are very familiar with delivery procedures for an event such as the Oscars. There were two ladies that kept helping me and even though I was a wreck, they were steady and calm and made sure all they got all the info they needed from me. I'm just amazed and so grateful. My company we'll use them whenever we need a delivery service. Oh, and we need some food delivery and they did that too and waited while the place that messed up our food order fixed it.
