I've been to Action Burger once and had a good time playing video games and drinking. Have no qualms with that, however, their food seems to definitely be overpriced for what it is and their customer service is definitely lacking. I've been an avid follower of the Yelp reviews and have seen how the business owner responds to customers and find it quite humorous how he responds like a moody teenager. I'm sure I'll get a reply from the owner (one I'm looking forward to reading!), but if I could give any constructive feedback to the owner it would be to just listen to the customers reviews (good or bad) and just give a professional acknowledgement of their complaint, apologize, and promise to improve. I think that can work wonders for your restaurants image, because I do love the theme you have going on and want it to thrive because I think NYC is lacking this niche demographic. read more

There is finally a great burger place in this neighborhood! My wife and I went in for lunch this afternoon and it was great. The staff was friendly and we ended up sharing nostalgic stories of G.I Joe and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with the manager while we waited for our burgers. The burgers were generously seasoned and the patties were large and amazingly juicy. We also ordered their fresh sweet potato fries which came out piping hot and delicious. I could not wait to come home and be their first review on Yelp. Everyone in Williamsburg should go check this place out if you want to fill your burger itch. read more

MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT. SERIOUSLY. I love it here! The theme is so awesome and the owner genuinely seems to love the business! They are always so friendly and gracious when I'm in there. The people who run this place love what they do - they love their niche interests, they love the restaurant business, and they love the combination of both, which is this themed restaurant. They seem extremely grateful to have been able to bring their loves together, and it shows when they interact with customers. There are always movies and shows playing in the background, video games going on, and once, I even saw the owner playing with a robotic dog. Nerd culture thrives here and I think it is fabulous. The menu is divided into superheroes and villains, with the superheroes being the healthier options and the villains being the unhealthier ones. Even that aspect is well thought-out. The fried Philly cheesesteak bites, even though I can't remember their villain name, are the most delicious thing I've ever eaten, probably. Stick around long enough and you'll get free samples of their milkshakes, which are also divine. They even have alcoholic milkshakes. Sorry, I could go on and on... it's all just so good. Anyone complaining that it's greasy obviously is missing the point that it's a good, old-fashioned burger joint, not a fancy healthfood place. You'd think that would be welcome in Williamsburg, which has kind of been the Kale Kingdom lately. The atmosphere and the food combine to create a really cool dining experience. This review is far more about customer service than it is the food, though I will say for 3am delivery this is surely the best you can get! The owner Vlane, was who delivered my food. While half asleep, I stub,Ed out of my apartment accidentally locking myself out. He helped me for about 15 minutes until the cops were about to give him a ticket for being double parked and had to run. Little did I know he told those cops about my predicament and they proceeded to come and help me. 3.5 stars doesn't do this place justice. Been coming here for the food since the place opened and had almost everything on the board. I usually go and get the Pretzel Burger Frenzy (seriously the best on the menu, toasted pretzel bun, two types of cheeses, "action" sauce, bacon, a fried onion ring and your choice of veggies) with fries/garlic fries or the Mac&Cheese burger. Both are filling and a taste party from the top to the bottom. They have a variety of banging milkshakes that I can't even name right now cause they're all so good. I'm not a big drinker but I've never had a problem with any alcoholic drink whether it's a milkshake with a buzz or a simple margarita. Before all this ridiculousness with the times today, the environment on the inside has always been friendly, patient, and professional with me or anyone I eavesdropped on. There's multiple different games to play (from the classics up to PS3 Gen) to kill the time before and after you eat and you're never bothered to move on or told to "*Save*, dude". The main dude is a cool, nice, and helpful guy who deserves more good business, imo. I don't know what to say about any of these other reviews that hit 3 and below stars. Reading them makes me believe that they're petty, impatient folks who don't give things a second try. Just the food alone earns earns 4.9 stars (it will never get that 5 with me since they cut the menu over the years which hurt my after workout meals, cause believe me, after I eat here, the next day I'm running around the Earth to kill them calories). Again I come for the food. If I wanted a restaurant that looked like 5 stars and crap food, I'd go to someplace in Manhattan order a filet mignon and dunk my head in the exotic fish tank and go "whoah". Give it a shot. Don't waste your time or your money. Went here last night for a cheese burger and fries....but they sold out of fries by 745 on a Saturday night. Fine. We got tater tots instead. Seating was minimal, so we went to the back and sat on greasy, dirty high top tables. Waited over 30 minutes for dine in. The burger was cold but the tots were scorching hot. To top it off, the server handed my food to the wrong couple at first and they touched my food before realizing it wasn't theirs. Burger was over priced for what you got. read more

Well I moseyed on down to the Action Burger with my two compadres late Sunday afternoon to see what all the fuss was about. Now, all three of us were feeling pretty low-- that is, until Action Burger fixed us right up. While my partners sprung for the delectable looking burgers and fries, I was on a different course. Six dollars bought me two Action dogs loaded with mustard, kraut and onions. For an extra dollar I bought an ice cold coke for lubrication purposes, giving me an all around deal for under ten dollars-- not an easy thing to come by in the city. Friends, I have eaten in enough chophouses, bistros and cafes across this great land to know a real DOG when I see one. And while I won't prattle on about the righteous comic book theme (peruse from stacks of comics while you wait) I will preach about the most important thing: the meat. This baby sung to me from its platter. The dogs were hearty, juicy and loaded with spice. And you should have seen the perch it sat upon-- it was more like a throne than any old hot dog bun, and crispy too. The grease could barely even permeate its toasted surface yet was spongy beneath, and not the slightest bit cumbersome. Felt like eating off a Cadillac. We (barely) walked out that door a little happier that day, our bodies weighed down soundly -- with meat. Hell, if I had it my way I'd still be in there eating hot dogs. I went here for my girlfriend's birthday gathering on Friday and we were amazed. First of the food was on point. The Toragon burger is unholy goodness. The tater tots were crispy and tasty! Their milkshakes were on point too. Hell, even their open bar was awesome. $25 for the whole night beats paying $12 a pop at certain lounges. What really sold me on this place was the arcade machines. MK2, A Street Fighter Anniversary cabinet with damn near every SF game except 3rd Strike. Only problem I had with that was the first player side needs to be serviced. Not only did they have arcade machines, they have 3 TV's hooked up to consoles. We played Halo 2 and Guitar Hero/ RockBand that night but they also have a NES, a Wii and original Xbox. So many games to pass the time and including board games! Although the space is small, the decor is awesome. Comics line the store and even their tables are from pages of comics! I read most of these sour reviews and I am appalled. These people are really uptight and hoity-toity. This place is a geek haven, not for snotty Brooklynites. Bless the owner for erecting such a place! We came a few months back while we were washing clothes across the street and couldn't stop eating and drinking. We just wanted to pick up our order and leave but ended up prolonging our laundry time by 2 hours. My kids were in heaven and even got to know another boy close in age who was celebrating his birthday and I knew then that I'd be harassed relentlessly to come back in the future for birthday celebrations of our own. At one point Kat made her way over to us and introduced herself and answered all of our menu/establishment questions. We ordered the Mac and Cheese Bacon Burger, The Mac and Cheese Nuggets, The Honey Hennessy Wings, Mystery Tots, a Hennessy Colada and The Gravity shockwave. Portions were so incredible I wasnt able to finish my burger until the next day (AND IT WAS STILL DEEELLIIICCCIIIOOOUUUSSS). Our drinks really were "strong as ever" (as the other bartender put it when serving us). You'd think such a humble establishment would cut corners on the quality or portions but this was not the case here and I couldnt be more grateful. Fast forward to last week. It's my nephew's birthday and I havent had time (or money) to properly plan anything for him. So I called Action Burger the day before his big day in a full blown panic to see if I could make a quick stop there after school hours and cut a cake for him there. I was advised to reserve a table to guarentee we wouldnt have to wait to sit and so I did. When I walked in with my nephew and 2 of his friends we were greeted with a huge "Happy Birthday!!!" from Kat and another employee. She let the kids know that if they wanted to change gaming systems she'd be happy to do it for them. I thought kids love hotdogs (even though I hate them) and fries so I ordered 10 hotdogs and 4 double fries and 2 pitchers of punch- I won't even get into how it was the best hot dog I've ever had in my life! How do they do that??? Originally we planned on it being 3 boys and 2 adults but throughout our 3 hour stay more and more friends and parents of my nephews kept showing up and dropping by and the place quickly got packed with people (not only with our party). I can't even begin to describe how grateful I am to the godsend that is Kat. Our hostess, waitress, server, bartender, all around supporter never lost patience with us, treated all the kids like her long time patrons and friends. She was so cool and collected under pressure when other customers showed up and it only enhanced the service that everyone in the place received rather than stagnate it. Constantly helping and suggesting other ways to make everyone happy. She came out and sang happy birthday with us and truly made our experience there an all around dream. All of my nephews 10 year old friends the next day said "It was so lit!" (the ultimate validation) and asked when and if I'd be celebrating my son's birthday there as well. Just an update to my review... I'm taking down a star because of the combative co-manager who can't seem to accept a poor review (from any customer, it seems). Please read the previous review and his reply below. My being a chef does not entail anyone to any sort of industry "understanding." I am a consumer at your restaurant, and I want to warn other consumers of a potentially hazardous product. I did not complain directly because you were closed, and it was my intent to inform other consumers of my experience (that is what yelp is for). It was not my intent to get a refund or my food recooked. Your learning of this is a positive side effect, and I'm sure your late-night cook (and you) can learn just as well from a yelp review than directly from a customer. Let me repeat: I am not complaining to you. I am warning customers and voicing my opinion. That is what yelp is for. You don't seem to understand the concept of yelp. This is not the comic book store. We are not discussing the validity of a certain universe in a certain comic book, or the balance of a D&D race or class. This is the restaurant industry, and arguing will get you to a bad place very fast with your consumer base, affecting your business and the people you employ. Deal with criticism with tact and get it done right so it doesn't happen again. Get over your own damn ego and your hubris. Of course your wings are cooked to temperature when you order them-- you're the manager and they won't screw around while you're ordering. As a fellow food worker and manager, that is the best advice I can give you. The back of house needing better management is obvious and redundant-- you served me raw, potentially salmonella-harboring chicken. If your cooks are working solo and don't have their food handlers, they probably should get that. If they do have it, they should already know appropriate temperatures. It's as simple as using a meat thermometer if you've got a beginner on the fry station. Furthermore, you've solidified my claim that the management needs work. My first visit to Action Burger provided a really tasty Turkey Burger, and disappointment. They were not only NOT serving milkshakes (the reason I travelled clear across Brooklyn) but they also didn't have beer. Seriously, they told me to go to the Bodega up the block and bring my own. BUT the place is named Action BURGER, and the burger was friggin transcendental. Juicy, thick, flavorful turkey, perfectly spiced, and topped with fresh pickles, lettuce, ripe tomato, and on a unique roll. THIS IS WHAT A BURGER SHOULD BE! The burger is the only thing giving them the single star review. That burger saved them from a wholly negative review. But no shakes? I mean, it's February, but your menu should make mention of seasonal offerings. I go to Comic Con and meet the owner. He is an affable guy and a very talented artist. He mentions an event for Halloween and I mention the shakes. He says there will be shakes on Halloween. Halloween, around 1 AM, I go to Action Burger, ready to drink a shake and play some Mike Tyson's Punch Out. The cashier offers a sample of one of the alcoholic shakes. The sample is runny and warm, I barely take a sip but think better of it and toss it. I order a pitcher of milkshake for myself and Hubby, and am told they can't make a pitcher. I downsize to a small non alcoholic shake. They can't put liquor in it. I order a plain vanilla milkshake and they ring me up and then can't make the friggin shake! It's not even close to closing time. My turkey burger is dry, so they didn't even get that right. I questioned if it was turkey or beef, but hubby's beef burger had juice and moisture so I'm pretty sure I got the turkey. The cashier tries to sell me bottled water when I ask for a cup. I only get a refund for the shake that never was AFTER I ask. Warning- the whole time I was there, the sample milkshake was sitting in a blender, and not cleaned. In an hour in a hot restaurant, food borne contaminates run rampant. This may be a great comic book hangout, but as a restaurant it has achieved nemesis status. read more

This star is because they have street fighter. Never order from here. The "nachos" showed up soggy cold and wet with a glob of cheese on one side. You could tell the styrofoam had melted from a microwave experience. The hot dog was also destroyed and not pleasant to eat when the bun and protein was thrashed and once again cold. The only thing they did right was the tater tots which were obviously frozen from a bag at the grocery store. Might as well go to the grocery store. My girl also got a burger which we asked to be rare and it was burnt to a crisp. Called to complain and the guy said it wasn't on the order to be cooked properly. I gave them a few chances because it's open later than a lot of other restaurants in the area but won't be ordering any more. There's always something wrong the order, this time it was all wrong. I waited an hour for delivery and I'm 1 block away. When it did finally come, the hamburger with American cheese came without cheese and their "Bomani" sandwich didn't come with the swiss cheese, mushrooms or turkey bacon it's supposed to. So that means they put a few weird bits of grilled chicken on a big dry bun and sent it out. Cute idea, comic book fans open a comic book themed restaurant. Went here last night and had to review because it was so good and the staff were so super nice! My friend and I showed up around 1am on our way home from an evening out and we couldn't resist the geektastic theme. I got the Marco (turkey burger, turkey bacon, cheese, bbq sauce) with a "sidekick" of onion rings, and (for old time's sake) a can of Mountain Dew. We chatted with the guy at the counter, who turned out to be one of the owners, as well as a few other workers til the place closed at 2am about everything from the origins of the restaurant's concept and menu items, to (as you'd imagine) Star Trek vs. Star Wars, comic books, Comic Con, archetypes, the hero's journey, etc. When the food came out, I was immediately impressed by how much there was! This was exactly the slightly-greasy post-drinking feast we had hoped for! I tried the onion rings first. Good and onion-ringy. Pretty standard. Then I took a bite of the giant burger. Dear god. The burger itself was so well seasoned that I was taken aback. Beyond that, it was on a tasty brioche bun and was generously covered in thick slices of bacon-y awesomeness. I've had a ton of turkey burgers in my day (I haven't eaten beef in 10+ years, so you do the math). I can say with confidence that this was the best turkey burger I've ever had. My friend got the Action Burger with a side of fries, and seemed equally pleased. On the walk back, I asked her what she thought and she echoed my praise, only adding that she should have asked for her burger medium-rare because she wished it was a little more "bloody" in the middle. I made a brief PSA on the way to the subway about the increased risks of Mad Cow Disease in undercooked ground beef, and she consequently withdrew her minor criticism before hopping on the train. First, full disclosure: Until recently, I owned a nearby business and was in this place on a pretty regular basis and got to know the owners a bit. They both seem like great guys who are excited, but just new to the food biz (and neighborhood) and have some learning to do. Their burgers are great. Their fries are awesome and in my top 3 in the city. If you ask them to burn the hell out of your bacon so it's nice and crispy on your burger, they'll happily do it without any attitude about how it's fancy bacon and that'll ruin it (yes, I've had that said to me). Just remember: this is a straight-up burger place, with owners and employees who, I think, have their hearts in the game and want to make everyone happy. Even after a few mixups when they first opened, I kept going back because they're trying to do the kind of thing I can get behind. That being said: One of the owners has absolutely no idea about presentation and doesn't seem to want to even begin to understand why it makes a difference and has no idea how to take any form of criticism, or even a suggestion of something that'd make a place that's pretty good even better, in a positive way. This guy? They've gotta loosen up a bit. They can't take these reviews so personally. They're a bit too close to the product to respond appropriately to negative reviews - which, more often than not, and even with low-star reviews, consistently bring up the potential of the business - on Yelp. For now, I'm giving Action Burger 3 stars. They deserve more, but there are some kinks to work out in the meantime. I think that they can be a 100% awesome spot if the owners learn to take a bit of a step back from their personal feelings and just embrace the idea that it's their audience that's most important, that it's okay to admit that sometimes there are screwups that happen not necessarily due to the fault of any one person (and that whoever screws up it is ALWAYS the owner's responsibility), that it's okay to admit that sometimes you need help or the advice of people with more experience than they might have (and man, I don't know anyone who doesn't want to see this business do well in the 'hood who's been there) and maybe, just maybe realize that this specific business is more important than promoting their own ham-handed, highschool-quality personal projects. Action Burger could be one of the best quick grub spots in the area, that place you go to for a good burger, a good time, to hang with good people. EDIT 9.23.2014 - Unfortunately the owner can't read. Never once did I criticize his food and I only mentioned the size of his menu to put how good I feel the one waitress is in to context. A formally loyal customer's opinion clearly doesn't matter to this guy, but I'd just like to say that if I had a customer who complained about a waitress bringing her kid to work and then letting it scream through a whole meal, I'd probably apologize and let him know that that wouldn't happen again. Unfortunately, the owner decides that my whole review is critical of his, actually great, food. I would have loved to talk to the father, but I wanted to finish my meal first and after was so full all I wanted to do was take a nap, that is how good the food is and if it wasn't for the owner's arrogance I would have been happy to come back and spend my money. I think I might have written a five-star comment about this place before that Yelp removed for some reason, but I'm glad they did because in the past year the place seems to have gone down hill. I originally loved coming here because of their extensive menu and decent food. You really have to contextualize this place, it's a single cook working in a small kitchen with an overly large menu, so yes, food is going to take a bit to come out. However, if you come to a place with a bunch of video games and a movie playing on one of the two TV's, and are in a hurry, you probably aren't going to like it. If you're the type of person who likes superhero movies, comic books and video games and wants to sit down and enjoy eating you'll be fine here. The menu is all a la carte, but seems to be pretty fresh. The portions are pretty big as well, the better to watch the movie currently playing. There's literally nothing healthy on the menu, so this is more of a comfort food place. I don't know the cashier's name, has dark hair with bangs, but she seems nice. Doesn't rush me when I'm ordering from their giant menu and always remembers to cut my sandwich in half and bring me my mayonnaise for my fried food. Also, the first time I had been in there in a long time she didn't hassle me about not being able to tip because apparently all tips are cash even though they have a credit card machine. Overall, I'd give her specific customer service an A+. She even explained about their turning the lights off in the place after a certain hour before she did it. There's another Latina one, I think might be the owner's wife or something, who I'd give an F for customer service though. My most recent experience convinced me to never come back to this place again. It was Saturday, 9/6, and after a long week I decided to come here for some giant portions and some sweet potato tots. I walked in and ordered, with the A+ waitress, and was glad that something decent, Lost, was on the TV. Then, as I'm waiting, the Latina's kid starts screaming. I realize that she's sitting in the back playing with her kid and not taking any head to the small space or the fact that there might be paying customers there trying to eat and watch TV. This kid was literally screaming through my entire meal so I rushed through and got out. While I'm a bit disappointed that I'll never get to try every thing on the menu, as I was originally going to do, I'm glad that I realized about how little respect these owners must have for their customers to have a screaming kid in the back. I'll never understand why parents always think that the rest of us should have to make special accommodation just because they decided to have a kid. I don't expect my meal to be in silence at a place like that, but if there's one thing I'm sure about, it's that a kid screaming in that high pitch is an incredibly unsettling thing to most people and it's just not worth it to me to deal with that. If a bunch of stoners or gamers or comic book lovers are having a lively discussion or screaming at each other playing games...so be it, but it's not worth it, knowing how little the owner must care about his customers, to risk eating here again knowing that there's a chance I'll be treated to another 30 minutes of a kid screaming. Yelp may be an obvious review site, but the majority of customers review with their wallets. Just because somebody doesn't come over and explain to you that you're being an asshole by letting your kid scream through an entire meal and that the average person finds a kid's screaming to be very disconcerting...doesn't mean that there isn't a problem. If this place ever gets a new owner I'll come back, but never again under the current management. read more

The only problem I have is the fact that you cannot write in your tip when you use a credit card and you have to find cash in order to tip the servers. That makes no sense in this day and age. So, it seems the owner of Action Burger is apparently a psychopath who takes all negative yelp reviews as personal attacks, spewing half-page-long flames in response, including bizarre veiled threats. You really wanted to lose that last star, huh? Look, I never said I ordered or drank any of your overpriced milkshakes. All I mean by my review is that I feel your menu has become a little too weird, and this has dissuaded me from ordering as often. I see a $19 milkshake on a menu, and that simply makes me go "WTF?" (and yes, I'm looking at your website right now, and there is still a $19 milkshake listed on your menu that doesn't contain any alcohol.) It could be the best-tasting thing in the world, but I would still never order it for that price - and that's the crux of what I'm trying to say. Sure, you have a right to serve whatever you like, and charge whatever people are willing to pay for it. All I'm giving is my own opinion - that's all. You can agree or you can disagree, but there's no reason to be so angry. As for including my reviews in your published materials - sure, whatever you say - but I honestly don't see why you would. Food: So far I have tried the turkey burger, the wings, the chicken fingers and the onion rings. The first time I had the turkey burger I was hooked. I was so happy to find a place with a decent turkey burger but it seems like its not consistent because the next time it was so-so and then good again so on and so forth. But the one I picked up tonight was so over cooked and dry that I called them up to be sure it was turkey, which was not a pleasant phone call. I tried to explain that I was not looking to have it replaced since I was not going to walk back but that due to dietary reasons I could not eat it if it is red meat. In the background I heard someone say 'tell her to try it and find out'. At that point I simply wrapped it back up and placed it in the garbage. The wings were decent as were the mini chicken fingers. But the real treat, and always consistent are the onion rings. They are great and worth every calorie. Decor: I understand there's a theme and thats why there are comics everywhere and action figures in the walls but I think it just looks messy all the time. The counter is mostly always cluttered with papers as are the tables and ledges. Service: The counter girls are generally always pleasant but so far I have yet to see the same girl twice. It doesn't really matter since I am not looking for my order to be memorized but it makes me wonder if they are going thru a lot of them and if so why? I had no real complaints about service til tonight but I really did not appreciate the attitude when I called to make sure my extra brown dry burger was turkey. read more

I agree with a previous review here. Do not order for delivery from this spot unless you like waiting an hour and a half (Seamless estimated 45-60 minutes). The food was ok, but lukewarm when it arrived. Might be a different experience if you eat there, but delivery sucks. read more

Five star reviews??? Really? Yelp, you may have just lost all credibility. Ordered a cheeseburger and fries. Sure the burger was seasoned, but it was just a burger, and honestly for the price I could have done better at Mother's or Garden Grill for the same price. The fries, though. A big greasy saltless, slightly undercooked gob of oily blech. Seriously, fries are not hard. Especially if they're double fried, which these are not (once to cook thoroughly at a lower temperature, then once again at a higher temp to add "crunch"). They also had a really strange bitter aftertaste. Guys, there's promise here. Really. I like the vibe and it's been a while since I've read a Mad Magazine, but the food has to get better. This is NYC and there are lots of great burger & fries options crafted by folks who really care how things look and taste. Comic con can only float you for so long. read more

This is officially the worst burger I've ever tasted in my life,,,,, I am working in williamsburg, and one day in my lunch break , i saw it and i was actually craving a burger. At first it looked cool, but once i got in,, the staff is really sleepy they dont even smile,, couple of dudes sitting ,, sleepy ,, and then the big shock when the food came,, this was horrible , i couldn't stand the taste of the burger ,, even the fries was very oily and really over cooked ,, it was a horrible experience,, the biggest 10 $ i ever regret paying,, don't say i didn't warn you guys read more

My first time in NY and my best friend recommended that we try here. Being a major foodie and game nerd, I was absolutely ecstatic about trying the place out. The concept is amazing, granted it looks sort of dumpy inside. But hey, hole in the wall locations generally tend to boast some of the tastiest flavors. I actually had to sign up and review this place. I personally love the whole fresh ingredients thing, and I expected as such considering the prices. It wasn't anything worth getting salty about, especially when you have a serious case of the munchies. But wow, maybe just a little bit more seasoning would have saved my burger's life. I actually had to dissect it and add some of my own seasoning when I got home because I couldn't deal with it being *dry* and flavor-less. I guess they thought the cheese and toppings would compensate for the lack of flavor, but sadly it didn't. I had the pretzel burger btw. So, I can't eat my burger, not really. I take a few bites and wrap it up for later. I figure I'll just eat my fries instead and tied me over until I can get back to my friend's house. WRONG!! Now, I'm a big potato lover. I looove, fresh cut fries and I've had my fair share of "We left these in the grease too long" batches. Sure, they'll be floppy and greasy, especially if you let them sit in there too long, but still edible. :( Sadly, mine not only had that floppy and greasy texture, but it tasted like OLD grease. Like they'd just left them in there to soak with all the grit for a while because they couldn't be bothered to turn up the heat. I personally hate sending food back but I absolutely had to ask them if they could toss me in a new batch of fries. The cashier looked so irritated and done with me that I just sort of sunk down a little in pink eared shame. I'm a southern girl, we're nothing but friendliness down here. I've heard about NY attitude but wow... I feel like a lot of the better ratings on here are because of the atmosphere. You get to hang with your kind of people. Comic book fans, avid anime watchers, gamers! And I love that, but my food was lacking something fierce(I never did get that batch of fresh fries btw. My politeness was completely taken advantage of and I was told a firm, repeated twice no and that my food was fine). Just be wary about your food. Cool concept, comics and vintage video games on the walls, and A New Hope playing on the TV. It would take a lot to make me hate this place: Mission accomplished. After waiting for over 30 minutes for the one burger I ordered to go, I was treated rudely by the cashier and the cook. Somewhere between the cook's second and third eye roll I got my money back and left. The place looks dumpy and cheap, but the burgers are around $10 ($6 with nothing on them) so you can basically go anywhere for better service and better prices. Don't know what "The Marco" tastes like, but I can live a full life never finding out. read more

Order delivery for some burgers and they'll shows up soggy, inedible, and over an hour late. You might try calling to figure out where you food is. The person answering the phone will be friendly, but clueless. You're at the mercy of their delivery guy, who is stretched a little too thin, evidently. You might have better luck if you go there in person, but with the other superior burger options in the area, why risk it? The only things on their menu not made of oily garbage are the milkshakes, which are good, but not $10-20 good. read more

"Pretentious Action Burger Wannabe's burgers" that's a better name for this place. As soon as we came in I was looking at the board and I asked "what kind of cheese?" and the girl behind the counter says "just american" and then the delivery guy jumps in and says "thats right were just a regular joint" Really? that's why a tiny burger, just a little bigger than you'd get at wendys is $8?? and that's why you put a special seasoning in the burger? And the shakes are listed as "hand made," WTF does that mean? Your decor looks one way, but the devil is in all the details. All this might not matter if the burgers were good and the shake wasn't watery. In fact, the burger had some weird extra taste, and it was hardly warm. Maybe this was all my fault because some of the things I've written here I said to them while there BEFORE i got the food, and perhaps they took revenge, but hey, a dude like me, who is a williamsburg native doesn't like to be treated like I'm the pretentious hipster, when it's the other way around, I lost my appetite before I ordered and now I feel like I'm gonna lose my lunch. This place makes Blue Collar look good, there you can read comics, play video games and have an ok and filling burger. read more

Action burger is awesome. Don't be fooled by that one star TIM J gave it. That guy is a total A-hole Please read the owners response. That guy Anyone who try's to belittle a restaurants integrity over yelp should make there own food and complain to them selfs. The service there is kind and willing to fix any mistakes. They are fairly new and still working out there early month glitches. I went through is with PiesNThighs( I'm a waiter there). Action Burger is nothing corporate. This is a neighborhood owned restaurant fighting to improve service on top of an already awesome burger! It's has a great vibe and there are free arcade games! I really hate giving bad reviews and this was my first time at action burger... But the brookyln wrap that i got was horrible. There was no bacon and if I counted correctly three pieces of chicken that were literally 1 cm thick aka no chicken at all. The only positive was the super fast delivery and nice delivery man. Besides that, this order made me never want to order from here again. read more
