When I first came here a few months ago, they were amazing. They gave me a quote of $70 to do a full synthetic oil change and when I got there, they did it for me for $70 and I was done. No problems here. Now fast forward to 3 days ago. I call them for a price quote for my car (told them my year, make, and model) and they say $70-$80. Most likely $80 they say. And I told them just a few months ago I got it done for $70. They said they changed their oil prices. Ok fair enough. Business is business. Then I call today morning to confirm and they say it's $80-$84. Are you kidding me?! But I saw a deal on yelp for $10 for $20 so I was like ok ill just pay it, whatever. So when I get there, this dood tries to hustle me and say it's $98. And I told him you guys keep changing oil prices on me everyday. Then He (craig) has the audacity to say that "we just changed our oil prices yesterday." LOL WHAT A JOKE. People be lying through their teeth here man to get yo money. Stay away. I've had my vehicles serviced at this business for the past 2 plus years. There are things that I really appreciate about this business, including the clean and friendly environment. However, I will not use this auto provider again because of their terrible customer service and lack of accountability for issues they've cause. Yesterday morning I dropped my vehicle off for service. I was asked when do I need my vehicle back by as Oliver recalled that I had kids and would need my car back same day. I explained 5pm would be ideal. Oliver said he would prioritize the work on my vehicle and provided updates via text until there was an issue with my authorization of work which was quickly resolved with a phone call. At 248pm I received a text indicating that my car was ready for pick up. I was in back to back work calls thru 5pm. My last call ran over a few min and when I ordered an Uber it took several min to arrive. All that said, I got to the shop at 520 and the place was closed. My understanding was that the business was open thru 530. The door also stated the business was open from 8-530pm Monday - Friday. So it was very confusing as to why they were closed. I texted and called the business to no avail despite the phone recording also stating that the business hours were until 530pm. It was very frustrating situation as I am a single parent of young kids without backup car seats. The car seats were in my car. I had to quickly put a plan in place to figure out how to pick up and drop off my kids given the situation. The next morning, I received the following text message "Good morning , This is Brett the service manager , we have closed at 5 pm for months , i am here at the shop now if you would like to pick up early." I responded, Good morning Brett, as a customer I am only aware of the information that is communicated to me. All of your business information still reflects 530pm as time of closing. So as a customer that's the time that I am aware that your business closes." Oliver called me shortly after and explained that he had my vehicle ready before 5pm as this was the time that I said I needed my vehicle. Which I explained I appreciated, however, that I arrived shortly after 5pm since the business was to be open until 530pm as stated on the door. Today when I arrived to pick up my vehicle there was still no acknowledgment of the business lack of communication to me as a customer of the change in their hours stated on the door. They did however, update the door to reflect 5pm today and tried to blame/gaslight me and say that I as the customer could have called and someone would have waited for me. To which I explained that I thought they were open until 530pm as this is what was stated on their door yesterday for the hours of operation. So I was under the assumption that arriving before 530 was sufficient as it was within the business operating hours and check would take only a few minutes. So there was no reason for me to call if I planned to arrive within the businesses hours of operation and had communicated at drop off that I needed my vehicle same day, why would I as a customer need to to call to have someone wait on me if the business communication was that it was open until 530pm. So in the end no apology or any acknowledgment of the undue stress they put on me as a customer due to their lack of communication on business changes that negatively impacted me. I won't detail it out now but I did have a poor experience previously with work done and the experience was poor as well. I did think that situation was a one off but like the saying goes, when someone shows you who they are believe them the first time. I believe it now and will not give my service to a business that mistreats customers. read more

Sorry Action Auto, I feel like I have to share this with some folks. I give you a two star review because I appreciated the $25 for $50 deal when I went in to get my smog check. So I used the $25 for $50 deal which was great, but I kind of feel like it was meant to sucker me in to spend a bunch of money that I didn't need to. So I told Tristen that we just bought a used car from a private party and I asked him to inspect the car for me. Well when he came back he handed me a laundry list of items that he suggested I get fixed. First off he said my tires were rotting and that they needed to be replaced. Then he told me I had a leak somewhere in my transmission or something and that I needed to get my transmission fluid flushed. There were a couple of other things he said I should get fixed too. He also said he was going to inspect my brakes, and my guess is that he was going to tell me that I needed new brakes too. All in all, it would have probably been $600-$800 or more in repairs if I would have had them go forth with it. After I left Action Auto with my cheap smog check completed, I took the car to the mechanic my family has been using for 10 years and the guy charged me for a $30 oil change and said everything looked good to go. I was pretty shocked that Tristen had told me that all that work needed to be done. I kind of felt jaded a little bit. I'm glad that I didn't have them do the work. Upon walking in, you'll see a nice waiting area resplendent with popcorn, coffee, and (at the time I went) donuts. The guys at the desk were all smiles, and let me know they would be done within an hour. I walked around to grab some lunch, and before I knew it, I had a call telling me they were done (about half an hour in). Tristan led me through the billing process, and he said that they did a free check up on what other fixes my car needed. The mechanic didn't even show up for at least 40 minutes. Apparently he had to pick up donuts. I kept looking outside, and my car just sat there seemingly for an eternity. I told myself to chill out and waited patiently. For over two hours. I finally had enough and asked about my car. I don't know when exactly it was finished, but they had done the smog check and parked it along the curb. Nobody communicated that to the front desk, and no one told me either. I found Action Auto on Yelp and after speaking with Oliver, I felt that this was the place to have my car inspected for repair. I can't say enough how much Oliver went above and beyond to help me during this stressful time. They ran a diagnostic test and found the issue. Oliver advised me to go back to the shop that did the previous repairs and have them fix the problem as it should still be under warranty. Action Auto gave us an estimate that was higher than our regular mechanic. When we elected to not have the work done by them, we were charged a large fee for the diagnosis of the problem. But when I asked, "So it is a bad starter, correct?" the mechanic said, "Well, probably, but we don't really know for sure if that's the only problem until we get in there...." So- what was the diagnostic fee paying for, if they were unable (or unwilling) to clearly diagnose the problem? In general, I was treated with a sort of condescension that I felt was inappropriate. Just got a flat tire on my work SUV. I stopped here to get it fixed, and hoping they won't try to sell me a new tire or decline to help me because I didn't have an appointment. None of that happened ! The people at the office "jumped" to help me, with a smile on their faces and got to work right away to fix the tire.They didn't try to sell me a new tire although they sell tires and this matters to me or tell me to wait for 2 hours like others in the past! I didn't have to ask twice so they can help me, although they were busy, and you could tell. What more can you ask from an auto shop when it comes to customer service. We went there with the $25 deal from Yelp for a smog check. Greg at the reception was very friendly and pleasant unlike most auto repair shops. We were promptly helped and the smog took 45 minutes while we went with another car to Porto's to pick up a cake. When we got back, Greg told us the few issues that we had with our 16 years old Honda and he was not using that scare tactic most auto repair shop uses to rip you off. Also, the issues he mentioned were all real after I took a look under the hood. But we decided to hold off the repairs for now because the car is so old and we might just get a new car sooner than we planned. He said they did not have the right tools to do the repair, and I would need to take the care to the dealing.
