Great experience with this company! I was very nervous and stressed about having many of my ceilings scraped for asbestos abatement but Mike was really good at explaining this and being straight forward about the process. Also added in a small bathroom floor removal for asbestos, plus a regular hallway ceiling redone too. Good and fair rate for all the work done and the ceilings look brand new! All the workers were professional and respectful of the property. Will hire again when I decide to tackle all the asbestos tile flooring I have :) read more

Positives: The ceilings themselves do look really good. They were responsive, easy to schedule, and good at communication. They were fast. The Negatives: Some of our brand new ceiling HVAC vents now need new duct taping and sealing. They left a crazy amount of mess on our lawn and sidewalk, even with wasting a LOT of water power washing their mess away into the street gutters, which in itself was inappropriate. There is no way it's ok to just wash that stuff into our water systems. They gouged the corners of knee walls that now need patching. We can repair our house. But the water waste and contamination was not acceptable. read more

Had been looking at popcorn ceilings for years. Finally decided to upgrade some areas of the house and started there. Called Acoustical Drywall and Mike was able to come out for an estimate that day. He knows his stuff as based on some initial questions over the phone he basically hit the project size on the head. The estimate also ended up being the most reasonable, but the real selling point was the ability to get the job done within 2-3 days. Others quoted a week or more. The crew came out on time, completed in a timely manner and left very little to clean up. I am really surprised how this updated the look of the house. It even received approval from the wife.... read more

Mike and his team not only met my expectations, their quality of work exceeded them. I just purchased a home that needed some updating, to say the least. I knew I had to start with removing the popcorn ceilings, and I could not be more pleased with the outcome. Not only was Mike very responsive to my initial call, he also came out promptly to do a quote and started/finished the project on time. Thank you Mike! read more

I finally decided to have my popcorn ceilings removed realizing it would be a major project. I contacted Acoustical Drywall Services and spoke with Mike who immediately put me at ease. The project went very smoothly and I couldn't be more pleased with my new ceilings. I also had the whole interior painted too which looks fabulous! Mike went above and behind in helping me get through this project. I am forever grateful for all his help and his team of workers. I would highly recommend their services. Oooooh man. I love these guys. Mike and Greg and the crew are amazing. We bought this house that had all these crazy ceiling tiles that were super glued with 70s era asbestos goo in 4 bedrooms and it all had to go. Synergy (who I also recommend for abatement) had to use an air chisel to remove this stuff and the aftermath was a war zone. Acoustical Drywall Services came in and performed some kind of drywall repair miracle. Our ceilings look amazing. I still don't know how they were able to make it look perfect. Great communication and great people. read more

This review is long overdue, As a real estate broker here in the Tri Valley area I often need reliable contractors to get my listings on the market quickly. I wanted to thank Mike and Greg as I have been using Acoustical Drywall for many projects over the past years. They are true professionals who take pride in their work and it shows on every project we complete together. Mike and Greg are responsive hard workers, that do what they say they will, and I am always happy with the end result. I can always count on them that the project is going to be done correctly the first time in a timely manner. Often they are first in the door on my listings and they keep on schedule which is very important when we are in a time crunch. My homeowners are always impressed on the level of care they take while in their homes. They arrive promptly and always keep the property spotless when they leave each day. I have hired them to do everything from: full retexture, hanging new drywall, removal popcorn ceilings, water damage on ceilings and walls, small and large patch jobs, tape drywall, installation of orange-peel texture, smooth wall, fish eye, and painting. Every time I couldn't be happier with their work ! They did a great job removing popcorn ceilings in two bedrooms and fix up a closet. The price was right. The work was done quickly. The clean up was thorough. read more

Mike and his crew of two did a popcorn removal, retexture, and repaint job on about 1700 sf of our 2400 sf home. They did a excellent job and were in and out in less than three days. It's a very messy job while in progress and you wonder if it will really turn out. There is lots of cleanup at the end which was done pretty thoroughly. Overspray was almost nonexistent and detail around ceiling fixtures and corners was great. I did have to pull out quite a few staples high on the walls where plastic sheeting was attached, but no big deal as I was up there edge painting the top of the walls anyway; just paint the holes and they disappear. I can highly recommend these guys. read more

Mike and his team did a great job removing the popcorn ceiling from our two-story rental. They were very professional, reliable and thorough. They removed light fixtures to be able to get to the stuff underneath and the job timeframes they gave were exact. I highly recommend this company! read more

Accoustical Drywall was engaged to remove the last of our popcorn ceilings. Mark responded quickly by phone and email, provided a clear proposal, contract, and scheduled a very good project date. All of the other proposals we received estimated a 3-5 day completion for removal of the asbestos and repair and repainting of the ceiling. Marc's team did a massive job of masking all the walls and furniture, removed the asbestos in one day and completed all of the ceiling repair and repainting the next day. His team did an excellent job of cleanup. All in all a good project and job well done. read more

Just got our popcorn ceiling removed and I'm happy with Greg and Matt's work. Mike's team did an excellent job! Will recommend you guys for sure! :) read more

We just had the popcorn removed from our house and we could not be happier. I HATE popcorn ceilings but I was worried about all the mess to remove it, however that was not a problem. Mikes crew did a wonderful job and our ceilings look great. Was a good time to change out some old ceiling lights and going to LED lights, now our ceilings are bright and clean. Thank you Mike and your hard working staff for doing such a good and clean job!! read more

I went with Acoustical Drywall bc of the Yelp reviews, but that still didn't stop me from trying to get other quotes. I found that it was really difficult to actually get a hold of people in this industry and that the pricing was more with the individuals that actually answered. Mike at Acoustical Drywall was very prompt and patient with me. The work was done just as he promised and he was always quick to respond. Don't waste your time like I did and stick with Acoustical Drywall. Thanks Mike! read more

I just had my ceilings textured and painted by Acoustical Drywall Services. The crew was on time, pleasant, professional and did a fabulous job, above and beyond. I highly recommend Mike at Acoustical Drywall Services. I had my asbestos popcorn ceiling removed. Mike is awesome! He is knowledgeable, professional and pleasant to work with. My ceiling looks so nice - just like new! Mike kept his word - it would take four days to remove, retexture and paint the ceiling. He even closed a hole in the wall and patched holes. When Mike and his crew finished their work, the house was clean. They cleaned up everything. Mike was on schedule and always answered my questions. He even gave me professional advice on which type of paint I should use when I paint my house. Mike said I would receive a clean air certificate in a few days and I did. He keeps his word! Thank you for such great work, Mike! You went above and beyond. read more

If you are researching about having your popcorn ceilings removed then STOP right here and call Acoustical Drywall. I dealt with Mike and he knows his stuff inside and out. He came in and first tested for Asbestos. It takes about a day or two for the Independent Lab to come back with the results. It ended up that we did, in fact, have Asbestos in our popcorn ceiling. Mike has this down to a science. He explained the process of the removal and that it is done "By The Book", and it was. He provided a detailed quote and stuck to it. No hidden costs or surprises. I followed his instructions to the letter and the job went so smoothly. My ceilings are now Asbestos free, painted and beautiful. Excellent, excellent job! After the job was complete Mike sent me all the disposal documentation so I know that the Asbestos was disposed of properly and not dumped in our landfills. So I leave you with these two things for you to consider. #1) Don't mess around with your popcorn ceiling removal yourself. It may contain Asbestos and that is nothing you want to mess around with. I recommend you read up on it as this stuff is really bad. #2) Call Acoustical Drywall Services and have it tested. Even if you don't have Asbestos you can rest assured that your particular job will be done professionally with the highest of quality and care. read more

It's not very often that you deal with someone in the construction industry that returns your calls in a timely manner, texts updates, estimates costs and sticks to the estimate, shows up on the agreed-upon day at the agreed-upon time... And does a fabulous job! Acoustical Drywall Sevices Is a well run operation... Something everyone appreciates... And their work is superb! I had quit smoking after 40 years and needed to get rid of the lingering smoke odor in my house. The first step was to get my dirty smelly popcorn ceiling removed. I got 3 bids on the job and even though Mikes bid was slightly higher, he was the only one who insisted on (or even mentioned) asbestos testing since my house was built in 1979. He said he plays by the book, and that instilled trust. Mike and his crew showed up on time and got started immediately. The job took exactly as long as he said it would, and the results are amazing. They did a great job cleaning up as well. If I ever have any drywall needs in the future, I will definitely call Accoustic Designs read more

I had a great experience with Mike and his crew with Acoustical Drywall. I own a dog kennel and I gave them quite a challenge, but they peformed! They came on time (in the rain, I might add) and finished when they said they would. I had a great experience with Mike and his crew! They arrived on time, very pleasant and professional. We were asked to vacate the place for 2 days. I was almost in tears when I saw the popcorn gone! Mike and his crew are top notch. Mike has years and years of experience and he knows how to get the job done. We had asbestos and Mike is one of the few that offers an integrated service- got the asbestos/popcorn ceilings removed and sprayed on the new texture. Great not having to make two calls and schedule two services. When it comes to drywall and texturing- they nailed it. My wife and I couldn't be happier. The crew we had was led by Greg and he really can do anything and do it well. Clean, respectful and transparent. read more

We finally had our dated "popcorn" ceiling removed and were very happy with the service provided by Acoustical Drywall Services. I wish I could remember the names of the two men who did the work; they were very efficient and friendly. Mike and his crew did an excellent job with our ceilings! Mike retextured and painted our ceilings after the 'popcorn' texturing was removed from them. I was in construction for many years, and even built my own house. My painting contractor and I inspected Mike's work and we were both favorably impressed. His work was consistent and meticulous--he even carefully cleaned up when he was done. He treated our home with care, like it was his own. Mike is also a very good person to work with, answering all of my questions in a timely manner. If I had more ceilings that needed his expertise, I'd call him for the job. Please consider calling Mike to work on your ceilings; we're certainly glad that we did. read more

We did an extensive remodel in Gold River and had Mike and Team redo the ceilings (take the old acoustic off and re-texture) and paint the inside of the house. They did a good job on everything and worked in a timely manner with our contractor. They are professional and careful to hang plastic and cover areas that they are not working on. Estimates and call backs were timely as well. Mike even painted in-place our plantation shutters (which no one else would do) and they turned out great and saved us money in the process. I would recommend him for acoustic, drywall, or painting services in the area. read more

Just used Mike and the team at Acoustical Drywall to take down the popcorn on my 18ft ceilings, retexture, and repaint. The work is very high quality. The team was efficient, finished early, and left the place very clean -- extra points for this given the messy nature of the work. The patch work they did after we moved some fans around and set up can lights was very good. Excellent customer service all around! Pricing is also quite competitive with other popular local companies. I can definitely recommend this company! read more

Our office had a problem with reverberating sound and wasn't sure how to solve it. I talked to Mike at Acoustical Drywall about it and he came up with an innovative, decorative and successful solution. We recently bought a home and wanted to make some changes. Initially it was just remove the 70's popcorn off of our ceilings, but soon some walls we're re-located and a lot of sheetrock patching was nessasary (which was done DIY by my son and Myself) Mike came out twice for estimates (once for the popcorn removal and again for the complete ceiling and wall texture estimate) even though I am quite aways up Hwy 49 (quite a little drive frome his office down in the valley) Well, of all the sub-contractors we ended up needing/using, Mike and his crew were the only ones to consistantly show up on time, did exactly what they said they would (actually, did some extra's due to my DIY talents!) and stayed with the quote all along. To say we are satisfied with his services would be an understatement! I would highly recommend them to anyone needing sheetrock work, popcorn removal, and or texture work. read more

Mike does excellent quality work at a fair price, I would recommend him for any of your drywall needs.

I contacted Acoustical Drywall Services based on their reviews, and they certainly lived up to them. After meeting Mike, I knew this was the company I wanted to go with. I didn't look anywhere else. On the first day, two crew men showed up and started immediately prepping the three rooms, giving the ceilings a shower, then took their tools to quickly remove the popcorn, and texture. Mike showed up the next day and did the priming, painting and caulking. They were professional, did an excellent job and left my home extremely neat when finished. You can trust leaving them your house key. The job was completed on time and on budget. I would definitely recommend this company. Thank you Mike and crew. read more

ADS removed the popcorn, and resurfaced and painted the ceilings in my 1,600 sq ft home. Additionally, the crew did extensive wall repair and resurfacing work.
