I use Chase Inspection for all of my home inspections. They do a great job and are very good to work with.

I'm a commercial real estate professional and highly recommend this business. Austin is an absolute encyclopedia of knowledge. His team is super kind and easy going and makes an inspection a fun day. read more

Im just clarifying something from about a year or two ago I have heard about the thing that you will find the mold if you want to find it not talking about you chase im saying anyone inspecting for mold when its someone that is working for the owner of a place yoh don't own it means things different at dirt I thought maybe it was you but after reading reviews and have a better understanding not trying to bad mouth the owners of the property I worked for but sometime they don't want to disclose information that may be possible that they can be liable for something or get them any negative or sue for a lot of places work that way I understand to a certain point but anyways I'm glad now I know that it wasn't you it was because the company hired you you work for them and it was up to them to do what they want with the information the results you gave back from when you inspected I do know that there was something in that apartment unit though because i got sick from it lost belongings and also not just having ti leav the job and place home cause I was on-site what hurt the most was all because of working as I was there I lost my vehicle the place either inside or outside had contaminated my vehicle I know this because I have been in situations before and im very sensitive to it and my vehicle only vehicle. I had to put some plastic over some things in there just to drive my daughter to school and it just got worse so bad to where I could no longer go inside of it. I know what it feels like to be affected by mold very much so nobody knows really knows unless you been there not even professionals know unless they have them selves been effected to the point. But you did great thank you Austin. Im glad I know now that it wasn't up to you to give the results I worked for the company that hired you and sense I didn't hire you they did you work for them so I understand now completely thank you. Just sucks because after having all that done it took a major negative effect on me and my life with losing things and making things much harder for me that im still dealing with today. Licing in sac with no vehicle and 3 small children no fam or pepper here is a struggle nit to mention having narcissist children's father. Mold sucks read more

I am a real estate agent/broker who met Austin Chase when he did an inspection on a home my buyer purchased in 2013. My buyer actually chose him as I had never worked with him before. He did an amazing job for my buyer and pointed out many things that we were able to get the seller to pay for. I have used Chase Home Inspections since then and I recommend him highly. He is thorough, careful, professional, and reasonable. He knows what he is doing and he does it well. read more

I'm thankful for their quality inspection. They did really good job thank you Austin.

Chase inspection did my home inspection before I purchased the house. Great team to work with, very thorough and clear in their report. I reached out with questions and he was quick to respond and give great advice, offer assistance. read more

STAY AWAY ,Unreliable folks . Hired and signed a contract with Austin and his company for a quote they gave me which was not cheap . A day before they decided to change the price by almost doubling it . We disagreed so they decided to just cancel the inspection after it was already setup, notices given to tenants and plan were made . Very unprofessional . read more

Austin and his wife performed an inspection for us when we were looking at an apartment property to purchase. He is very personable and seemed professional during the inspection and I liked him and his wife personally. They were confident and I appreciated that they pointed out several issues and explained things. However, their written report did not actually have sufficient detail about the findings. This is a property with multiple units and the report would reference "one or more furnaces needs to be replaced" while the number was somewhere between 8 and 15, for example. Unfortunately, Austin did not respond to any follow up correspondence - he did not return emails or calls. read more

Had a great experience with them even though I had to ask twice about including some additional items in our report, they were responsive, polite and professional. Would use again and will recommend as well. read more

Austin inspected a home for us. I was reluctant at first because he is more expensive ($500), which seems like a lot for an inspection, but I figured it would be worth it if he is very good and catches hidden issues that others would miss. However, I was disappointed for two reasons: (1) He missed significant issues, and (2) the report was late. The first issue was the bigger one. We later discovered significant repairs needed on our home. Although no inspector can catch all of these, there were a few that in retrospect it seems like someone working in the industry should be able to spot. Furthermore, it seemed like he was more interested in helping a sale go through by stating how easy some things would be to fix later. Disregarding the above issue, the report was later than promised. We inquired twice about this, only to receive it a week later than promised. The report itself was also less detailed than other inspectors we have used in the past. He said this is to focus on the important details. That being said, he seemed to include a number of minor issues, while randomly leaving out other issues. As noted, above, major issues were missed as well. Maybe our experience was an exception; others seem to have good experiences. However, our personal experience wasn't great and I certainly don't think his services warrant a price premium. read more

We have used Chase Inspection twice now. Both times Austin & Alondra were punctual, extremely thorough and very professional. We have owned several homes and never had the comprehensive inspection service like what we received from CHASE. We had an inspection within days of our call, and very pleased with the level of integrity, knowledge and work ethic put towards the home assessment. Within 48 hours we had a full work up report of the findings, and I mean, full work up- we were so impressed how much time and attention was brought to the written evaluation. There is no greater recommendation than the referral to family and friends and that's exactly what we do when we are happy with the services we elect to pay our money towards. Referring Chase Inspection Services is an absolute pleasure based on our experience with them not once, but twice! Totally blown away!!! read more

I am pleased with services provided by chase inspection. Friendly and very respectful guy. I was concerned about my dogs being an issue, but they are pet friendly and had zero issues. I absolutely recommend chase inspection and will use again if need be during the future and have no doubt you will be pleased with his services also. Five star hands down, professional report, communication and was prompt on time, shirts tucked in professional attire. read more

Had a great experience. Very knowledgeable about his inspection and provides detailed work. He double checked a few things before providing information about the home. Home inspection is scary to hear but Austin provided excellent feedback to minimize and correct issues. Definitely will recommend to anyone. read more

Austin has inspected 10 multifamily projects and in excess of 45 homes in the Sacramento market for my investment firm. The quality and the accuracy of the work was second to none... Austin has kept our firm in a great place in terms of repair costs in excess of what was expected after our purchase was complete. I have known Austin professionally for 9 years and in that time I have not had a single issue with his inspections or reporting. If you want it done right feel good about using him and his services. read more

Austin and his team are excellent, experienced, reasonable, and kind. You don't even need to read any further, just shoot an email over and get on the calendar! I will say that it can take a couple of follow up emails to ensure you're on the schedule, but thats how it goes when you have top talent contractors. Make sure to follow up, I *promise* you its worth it! My partner and I first worked with Austin when he conducted the initial inspection on our new home. He was referred by our incredible realtor (Sara Muir -- you can look her up too!) and he fit us in despite his busy schedule and our short closing time. He identified an issue with some partial flooding in our basement, and told us to reach out to him during the fall so that he and his team could come by and install a french drain to fix it up before the rains came. I started working with his EA, Lori, in the late summer so that he would be available by fall to make it happen. He and his team came and worked steadily for three days, tearing up concrete, installing the drain, and then leaving it brand new. They even threw in a planter box for us with all the soil they dug up! Despite the work taking a bit longer than expected due to some extra dense soil on our part, Austin stuck to his estimate and gave us the original price he quoted. Everyone that came to work on our project was kind and professional. I also really loved that Austin had almost 20 years of experience in the field. It really really showed. I loved supporting a small business owner and his team! Thank you again Austin, we are so grateful to you! read more

I came across an inspection report of Austin's when I represented a buyer and the inspection had already been done by the previous buyer who cancelled the transaction. The report was so complete and easy to understand, I decided to use Austin on my next inspection (I am a real estate broker). This morning was our first meeting. He was on time, personable and ready for business. The inspection was incredibly thorough, he explained everything to the buyers-- the good and the "needs attention" without making it sound scary or intimidating. He knew the whys and hows of everything. He gave suggestions where it made sense. A lot of inspectors, I have used in the past, disclaim being able to make a determination on items, in fear of opening themselves up to liability. I found Austin's approach to be very useful and professional. Long story short, I've done the hard work for you-- tested most inspectors in the Sacramento Valley (including some here on Yelp) and Austin is head and shoulders above the rest. To buyers and agents, I would highly recommend him for all your inspection needs. ps making the appointment was a very smooth process. very professional and pleasant office staff. read more

Great work, responsive contact, reasonable pricing. What else do you want?

Wow, what a difference! The home inspector that I used during my first home buying experience did practically nothing compared to Austin Chase. Now that I know the difference, I can really recommend going with someone as experienced, professional, thorough and precise as he is. As Austin and I waited for the Realtor to show up, he explained that he had inspected over 100 homes by the same builder and went on to explain all of the potential problems to look for. Once we got into the home, he then verified our conversation by pointing out hidden issues throughout the house. I felt very confident making decisions based on what he uncovered. If you want to know what is really happening in a potential property, go with this guy. You won't regret it. read more

At first, I was impressed by Austin and his knowledgeable, friendly, caring approach about the mold situation in the home I rent. He came to the home at the owner's request within 24 hours. However, after quoting us a four day turn around time on the test, and not responding to any requests about the test I became very suspicious. I saw the previous review noting the situation with his license. I did my own digging and came to the same conclusion, that license doesn't belong to him. I requested the test results again after learning from my landlord he had them but needed time to analyze the results, which shouldn't have taken more than 15 minutes for someone who seems so knowledgeable. Still, we do not have the results. Upon arriving at the house, I pointed out where there was visible mold, VISIBLE!, and where the floorboards are warped, and smell. He told me not to worry; the house was safe to live in while we waited for results. If he was the professional he claimed to be; he should know California Law. But he doesn't or neglected to tell me. I did my own research and found out that ANY visible mold, moisture, or smell is considered to be dangerous and the house inhabitable. Even if he wasn't legally required to inform me it was dangerous, he should have if he's such "a good guy." Now, a week from contacting him we have no written report, but I did get him to admit on the phone there is mold but have yet to see a report. I would never recommend him. As a tenant beware, he is on the homeowner's side and tried to make this seem like an easy casual process when in fact it is a gigantic pain in the a. There comes a time when you have to stand up and speak up, so that's what I'm doing. Stay safe Sacramento. read more

I am a Real Estate Broker and owner of my own company. In 2012 alone I did 44 transactions and am in top 1 percent in Sacramento county in sales. I used Austin for the inspection on the first home I bought and have been using him for the last 10 years. The bottom line is that he is the best inspector I have come across in the greater Sacramento area. He simply knows more about construction, how to fix problems, and goes the extra mile without ever cutting corners. There are many inspectors in the area, but only one true professional that I trust and know will serve my clients before, during and after their purchase. Look no further call Austin. read more

Amazing experience with Austin Chase and Henning for my home inspection in Tahoe Park! I have worked with both of them several times before as I shadowed my Realtor (as a Realtor-in-training) on other client property inspections. This specific rating is on my own home purchase, based on the reassurance that was provided by the team on my investment. Austin is very charismatic and has very strong interpersonal skills. His depth of knowledge on homes and the issues you find during an inspection, allows the client (lesser knowledgeable me!) to conceptualize the scope of the problem and solution based alternatives. He will walk you through the house and explain what you are looking at and cost estimates for fixes. To top it off, you will be provided a lengthy inspection report with clear photos and descriptions with scale-able degrees of importance. The thoroughness of the communication onsite partnered with the follow-up is worth every penny. My advice: Yes, you may find cheaper options out there... Don't half- a** knowing if you are buying right and go with Austin Chase who knows his stuff and will make it clear if you are a buying a turd or a diamond!!! read more

I was extremely disappointed with Austin and his customer service. I had Austin do a home inspection for my new home upon the referral of my realtor. He did a great job for the most part however, after I purchased the home problems were brought up regarding our water heater installation. There were various concerns and I was disappointed Austin did note these issues on my report. At first, he appeared helpful in offering a partial refund or the option of him coming himself to fix the problems (I thought that was great customer service at first) then when I tried to schedule him to come repair it - he blew me off because he wouldnt be able to come in the next 3 weeks (which I felt was a decent amount of time for him to fit me in his schedule). He then said he would just pay me the partial refund so he wouldn't have to deal with me anymore. This was back in November 2014. After 4 months of following up over and over again, I just received the partial refund check. read more

Had a wonderful experience recently when we used Austin Chase's company for Mold Inspection and Remediation. His company was recommend to us by a Real Estate Agent friend of mine. Austin was very knowledgeable and thorough in his inspection and testing. He patiently answered all our questions and concerns. We received an easy to understand inspection/air testing report in a few days. We received an estimate for repairs that was very reasonable. The work was scheduled in a reasonable amount of time. All the workers were prompt, professional and hard working. All work was completed within 3 days. We were very pleased with the outcome. Would not hesitate to use this company again. Thanks so much Austin, Lori and all the workers. read more

I used Austin Chase through my realtor two years ago for a home purchase. He agreed to replace mutiple items of which he was paid in advance . He came out and replaced one item but never came back to do the other. I was required to go back to my realtor to claim the work had not been done. He never returned my calls .I filed a report with the BBB in Sacremento only to find out his phone was only an answering service and that his contracting lic. was from another company. If I could give him a minus star it would be a -4. But he does have a great SMILE. read more

We had a great experience with Austin as a home inspector and when we wanted to remodel our kitchen he was our first choice of contractors to consult. He said he'd be happy to visit us and talk about what we wanted to do. His consulting fee, he explained, was 195$ and if we chose him to do the work it would be put towards the total. He spent almost 2 hours with us and was enthusiastically engaged about the project. He gave us a rough estimate of the cost of the work and we agreed he would provide a written estimate next. Despite several phone calls and email reminders, including speaking with his administrative assistant, we did not received anything in writing. After about 2 months of waiting, we asked for a refund of the consultancy fee and were told "no", that it was for his time. So we ended up paying about 100$/hour for nothing more than some general ideas with no prospect of applying the fee towards the job. Nice work if you can get it and apparently he can.... read more
