I've wanted to try Aconcagua for several weeks. My husband and I came for lunch, and we were impressed. The atmosphere is quaint with several two seater tables and a two outdoor tables. The cashier was friendly and answered all of our questions. The sandwiches are delicious. I had the Media Luna croissant, and my husband had the Sandwich de Milanesa which was huge. A very, very welcome addition to the diverse and amazing flavors of our little city! Brought our family for lunch and coffee and even the picky eater in our group couldn't find a single item he didn't *love*. We tried the ham and cheese and beef empanadas and they were perfect. This was a good place to stop and grab take out, but now it has expanded with a wonderful dining area. Sandwiches and pastries are above reproach. Always service with a smile. If your first time, just ask for recommendations, there isn't a bad thing on the menu. Pizza is new and has a thick bready crust with big cheesy toppings, so be warned a slice can feel like a meal. read more

We are from the East Coast visiting Utah. We came to this little bakery/restaurant because of the positive Yelp reviews. Believe the hype! My friend and I shared the Aconcagua sandwich, a chicken empanada, and a dulce La leche pastry. Everything was out of this world. When you have to wait for the bakery to open until late morning you would expect the usual pastries to all be there. When I asked about missing pastries I was told they are on their way... so it must be baked in an offsite commercial kitchen or in moms kitchen in the house (pretty sure it's the later). So I just went with a 1/2 dozen pastries ($9) and a loaf of bread (-$2) and two biscuits... my total was over $20! So those little biscuits must have been more than their empanadas and come in at over $4 each! I will continue to purchase my pastries in Orem over this bakery and I live in Layton. I have been coming to this bakery since it opened but losing my patience. The staff are great but it is taking too long to work through these issues. Lastly the pastries I got today must have had double the butter in the recipe. They oozed oil and we're already completely flattened (due to the way they were packed) it was crispy, oily butter flake but not delicious. Pretty sure that La Brioche is a better option (I was there yesterday) the quality is better, the list price is better, the staff is solid and the environment and selection is better. If you are in SLC I would definitely advise that you head south. read more

Friendly staff and pleasant environment. Clearly this is a family run business, and while I was there several friends and family came in to eat and talk. This added a festive and friendly atmosphere.
