Excellent empanadas, we got the chorizo, beef, and spinach. Chorizo was my favorite and had great flavor. The we got sandwiches which were large and my wife and I could only eat half of it, but my son finished mine when I got home my wife got # 1 sandwich and I got #2, can't remember the exact names. My 6 year old son had a bite of my sandwich and ended up finishing it because he liked it so much. It is a family owned business and many who work are from Argentina. They even sport a Messi jersey hanging on the wall! They had sold out of all the sweets so we will have to go back. It's literally a hidden gem! Hidden indeed around in a corner by Del Taco. Normally I would google what to order at a place whose cuisine I am totally unfamiliar with but I stopped in on a whim since I was next door at the UPS. Since I know nothing about Argentine baked goods, I asked the person behind the counter what was good. They said their dulce de leche pastries were popular and I love Dulce de Leche so I ordered one of each. There were 4 and I don't know what any of them were called. All four of them were delicious. The ones that were kind of croissant like were my favorites. They had a buttery flaky pastry and the filling ratio was perfect so the dulce de leche wasn't too overpowering. I also ordered a chicken and a beef empanada as well. The beef was ok but I really loved the chicken. It had an excellent crust with perfect and flavorful filling. I will definitely be back to try more tasty Argentine treats. read more

This is a gem of a cafe, tucked away in a strip mall next to the Layton Wal-Mart. It's definitely a little corner of Argentina, with authentic baked goods, sandwiches, and a small market of Argentinian products to round out the experience. Fantastic place, I usually get pastries when I go here (which are always fresh and really delicious), but their empanadas and their sandwiches are really good too. Best Argentine food in Utah! Doesn't get more authentic than this. Everything we ordered was amazing. The place was packed! Great music. The medialunas con dulce de leche were on par with what you could get in the best bakeries in Buenos Aires, and the ham egg and cheese medialuna was probably the best breakfast sandwich you can get for miles and miles. The only thing I'm sad about is that I have to make a drive from SLC county. I hope they open a second location closer to us :) the service was excellent, and the signed Messi shirt is an added bonus :) read more

This place is tucked in the very corner of a strip mall in Layton Utah. The location itself is very nicely decorated and has a mini store in it. I have never been to Argentina but I assume these are all things you can find when visiting Argentina. There was a case full of different pastries and I asked the guy to set me up just with the popular ones. He ended up giving me two dolce de Leche pastries and I'm glad he did because those were the best ones. I also got a few other ones - everything I tasted was great. I also decided to pick up a few empanadas since it was close to lunchtime. I got the items to go and took it home to my wife and we enjoyed most of them. We were not fond of the spinach and cheese Empanada but if you love spinach this would be the perfect one for you. It had tons of spinach inside of the empanada. One tip we learned was if you look at their website or Instagram and have your heart set on something, call ahead and see if they have it. They were out of a few things we wanted to try. Had we known that we would have waited to go another day. I was hoping to try one of their crustless tea sandwiches, but they were out of them. So, we tried the Aconcagua Sandwich and the Sandwich De Milanesa. Of the two, we preferred the Sandwich De Milanesa. We had the ham and cheese empanadas and loved it! But what we were really there for was dessert! All of the dessert we tried was delicious, but the overall favorite was the one that looked like a sugar donut and was filled with custard. So good!!! Their beef empanadas are very close...if not right on the money to the traditional ones. I've been there twice, and will continue to go. I live 40 miles away and that hasn't kept me away. They also have a delicious variety of facturas (pastries) and sandwiches de miga. I haven't had their sandwiches yet, but I will the next time I'm there.
