I needed to grab a few items from a supermarket and Acme was closest in relation to where I was. There's a really large parking lot for this Acme which is always good to have and it's situated within a larger shopping plaza with other retailers. The store itself is bright and neat and aisles are clearly marked which made shopping the store pretty easy. There were ample cashiers and the self checkout lines were also open so checking out and paying was a fairly quick and smooth process. If I were in the area again and needed groceries I'd definitely shop here again. read more

Im house/dog sitting and of course a big storm is coming and I needed a few items. I haven't been to an ACME in a long time because 1) - I primarily shop at Shoprite and BJs Club and 2) - they're overpriced. I was pleasantly surprised on this trip. Lots of sales on the items I wanted, like creamed spinach, o.j., waffles, (chocolate) JIF, American cheese and cream cheese. The big store is well organized and very clean. The bakery items looked incredible but I rarely indulge. A nice employee told me where the closest Wawa was :) Not much else. Stay safe everyone! read more

Found a good amount of organic items. Found some plant based items that were processed 'meat' items in the produce section, dairy free yogurt, milk, etc but not that much else for those plant based. Had trouble with the self check out and Brian came by a few times to help, which was appreciated. It was disappointing however, because Olivia looked right at me when I had a confused look and made eye contact. She didn't take the initiative to help. She really should of. :( read more

I ordered a custom cake from the bakery and couldn't be more pleased. It was absolutely delicious and well priced. It was a hit at my party. I will definitely use Acme again if I need a custom cake in the future. Kudos to the Bakery Team read more

Acme, Mount Holly is in a Urban Enterprize Zone (UEZ). Their tax savings they get from the State of New Jersey, are now used to raise the price of their products. A bakery donut was sold for .89 ea, they a now $1.49 ea. Some off their products have expired use by dates. This is why I woukd never use their online shopping. Calls to their compaany to complain are placed on Auto Dump and noting is done to improve the shopping experience. I will only shop there for a absolute necessry item. Shopper Beware. read more

I'm am single widower 66 and sometimes don't notice things Im also a pescatarian . The first time ready to buy packaged salmon and the cashier noticed and said that's no good showed me where it was discolored and took it away . Today i bought their packaged cooked shrimp came home ate two pieces tasted funny looked at the expiration date been expired 4 days and returned it now hoping I don't get sick. Mt holly acme needs to do way better with their seafood they are going to get somebody really sick . I won't trust them again TERRIBLE. I was at this establishment on 7/26/24, I had been on the phone showing a friend an item they asked me to buy them. I proceeded to walk to a checkout line that had a light on but no employee to be found, an employee by the name of Thomas had come over with immediate attitude which I chose to ignore. He had YELLED the price of my Item obnoxiously out loud then proceeded to accuse me of taking pictures of him and look over the register at my phone. I became angry and exchanged words with the employee that STARTED the altercation with me, a customer. After a few minutes of back and forth arguing he proceeded to spit on my phone and my foot. He had told me his manager was right behind us, though the manager did nothing about the employee's actions. Unfortunately the behavior that was displayed was disappointing. read more

It seems that this Acme still has a security problem and are shaking down customers. I go to this Acme every Sunday to get the newspaper for my wife so she can get the coupon circulars and save us some money when we go grocery shopping and match up the coupons with any sales at the local grocery stores. We actually don't even read the newspaper! My wife told me to expect three circulars in today's paper, so I was expecting that when I got to the newspaper stand inside Acme. From my prior experience at this store, some of the newspapers do not have the correct coupon inserts inside them so my technique has been to check the papers to ensure that the correct inserts are inside each paper. So, fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. We regularly purchase four papers because most of the stores coupon policy limits like items at four so we can maximize our savings. Sometimes we'll even purchase eight papers if inserts are spread through two separate papers. When I got to Acme I started going through the first paper to verify that there were in fact 3 coupon inserts. I found two of the same inserts in both of the first two I went through. Then I went to the next paper which was fifty cents more expensive and those two had the same two inserts as the first brand. I took some steps back to get out of the high traffic area of the entryway and pulled out my phone to verify that there were only two this weekend. In the process of doing this, one of the store managers, Robert, came over and asked if he could help and asked what I was doing. I then explained myself. He then asked if I was a vendor which I of course said no. He then explained that he watched me on video last week and saw me hovering over the papers and going through them. He then explained that he was having issues with people taking extra inserts in the newspapers. (Which I could relate to, because that's why I was checking them in the first place!) I was in shock now, because I was being accused of stealing coupon inserts the last time I was at the store!!! Seriously!!!???? I then had to defend myself simply quality assurance checking the product. To me, it was like opening up an egg carton to make sure none were cracked. I wanted to just leave the store because I felt seriously offended, but I felt that if I did, I would validate their belief that I was stealing their product. Robert (the manager) opened up another bale of papers and gave me four and said that these should have the correct inserts. He then walked away. I then went to the self checkout, inspected the papers, checked out, and left the store. I looked around to see if Robert was near the front when I left but I didn't see him to talk with him further after I had collected my thoughts. I talked with my wife, who has worked in and still has family members actively managing grocery stores what happened. We came back and asked for a refund of our purchase and how we can take our complaint higher up with Acme. We will not return to this Acme, as legitimate, repeat customers should not have their integrity questioned. It would be one thing if they asked to see my purchase after I checked out if the store had a reasonable suspicion of theft, but another completely to tell me that they saw me on camera last week and for all intents and purposes accuse me of stealing which seriously offended me. If you're OK with how Acme treats their good and repeat customers, go ahead and shop here. ***EDIT*** 1:46 PM 5 Feb 12 I went down the road to Shop Rite off Rt 38 in Hainesport. I grabbed four papers and walked to the customer service desk. I asked the woman there if it was OK if I could check the paper to make sure that the correct advertising circulars were inside because we just had some issues at Acme doing the same thing. She looked at me like I was crazy and then said she didn't have any problems with it. We will be shopping at Shop Rite, Wegman's, and Wal-Mart for groceries from now on. read more

Amazing customer service department! I recently lost my wallet, suspecting that I may have dropped it in their parking lot. The service representatives at ACME were nice enough to offer to review any camera/surveillance footage on site that may indicate where and when the drop occurred. A Good Samaritan found my wallet in the parking lot, and the staff was nice enough to contact me, assure me that my cash, IDs, and credit cards were secured, and that I could pick it up at my earliest convenience. (Holy run-on sentence! Lol) They even gave me the contact info for the nice lady who found my wallet so I can thank her personally. Sometimes the five-star rating can be based more than just a great product. It's also about the intangibles...like altruism and good-hearted regard. So thank you for going the extra mile for me, ACME staff! It means a lot! read more

This store is close to me so I find myself there occasionally for quick trips or replacement of single items. The staff is always quite friendly and I think they are the best part of the operation. But the produce is always on the cusp of spoilage. Honestly, I've never seen anything like it at any other store. It gets a star for being close and convenient but otherwise, this Acme has seen better days. It's a small store so what you're looking for they may not offer. The whole place, from the carts to the floors just looks and acts broken down. The salad bar is often full of half frozen and limp looking veggies. The olive and premade bar looks less than fresh and I question if they are kept at the correct temperatures. They have a small deli, bakery, florist and pharmacy. The employees are usually nice enough. Like I said, if you live close by and needed to pick up an item or two, it's perfect but with the new Shoprite close by I don't see this place lasting too long. Also, the prices for almost everything I buy here are around $1 more than if I went to Shoprite. Just about my least favorite place to shop. read more

The price is right, but it's in a SKETCHY location. I never have a problem at the nearby Staples or Friendly's, but as soon as I head here, I'm always approached by vagrants for some reason. I don't feel safe in the parking lot unless cops or many other people are present. I would never come here with kids. Every time I walk in I'm kind of clutching my purse. That said, they're in a good location. The lighting is a bit dim but it's a great store to find cheap paper products (if you need to be mean to the environment as I had to when my sink broke one week) or if you just need to grab one or two items. Despite all the cars parked there, it's not usually busy and there aren't usually lines, so it's really convenient. Some of the cashiers are a bit odd. They run the gamut from intriguing to insulting to ... wait, are you the person that just tried to sell me weed in the parking lot??? I'd go here more often if not for that creepy 'oh crap, will I get mugged?' feeling. Whenever I go here with my husband, I always end up walking out of the store laughing at something or someone, mostly because I don't feel like anyone will want to deal with tackling him. read more

I can't understand all the negative reviews of this store and it's employees! Maybe they tightened up and improved things, because I never had a negative experience at Acme. The employees fall all over themselves asking if you need help; they will walk all over the store to help find an item for you; and they always smile and greet you in the aisles. I have had dealings with the staff in the bakery, the deli, meat, and produce departments, and never had a problem. Everyone goes out of their way to be nice and helpful. I always smile at everyone and try to be friendly, so maybe it's catching, I don't know. But, I have no issue with this store. If you're going to compare it with the new Shop-Rite, it will fall short.... you need a golf cart to get around that place! But, I always find what I need and am happy shopping at Acme. read more

I shop here mainly when visiting my sister in her neighborbood, other than that, I have an Acme where I live in which I shop MORE frequently. I read a comment that the parking lot is sketchy, never had I had an issue in the parking lot, and I do bring my toddler here with me, and never once felt unsafe. I have never been hassled by any vagrants, but does Mt. Holly have them? yes, but I have never seen anyone being bothered by them, moreless near acme. The only problems I have coming into The Mt. Holly Acme are that I mind my own business, and get ugly, ODD looks from you know who's while I mind my manners with my young child. I was here Saturday, June 30th, and simply talked to my sis in the parking lot as I was having a minor car issue, and can you imagine the uneasiness I felt as I felt car locks being hit three times?! Hmm, that was once of two days I felt I was not "welcomed there". The ignorance is what makes places sketch sometimes, if it were so bad, I'd just not go there, but when you are only used to those who look like YOURself, you may be scared with no basis or foundation. Get out, and not be scared of others, ignorance is bliss, and it is very sad that we can not get along with others. I shop here in emergencys when I need something quick. The handful of times I've come I've learned to check the expiration date on EVERYTHING. Sunday I bought 4 bottles of seltzer water. All 4 where expired. If you shop here do yourself a favor and check every expiration date. read more

I came here today to get a few things & the cashier named Cliff was slow like a turtle. I bought things that had coupons for them & it was suppose to double. I saw it ring up as multiplied coupon & he took it out, put it in as a single amount then tells my husband it can't be doubled. Wth?! Nobody ever did that before in all the times I have been going to acme. Seriously, did nobody tell him what good customer service is all about?! I worked as a cashier before & I can probably act better then he did. It looked like he didn't want to be there. If that's the case maybe he should just not work at all. If there would have been another register open I would have gone there instead of his register. He gave off bad vibes. Hope he gets fired. Management and customer service workers are RUDE. Self-checkout had an error and set the red light off. We waited patiently and a woman from customer service finally came over to fix it. She said, "The payment was cancelled. Press yes" VERY rudely and walked away. Prices are outrageous here, the least they can do is be courteous and polite. read more

This store use to be a Jamesway back in the 1980's and is nearly 65,000 sqft. I'm disappointed by the lack of offerings especially the house brand since Acme isn't known for having the most affordable prices. I went back to the Deli to get some Olive loaf sliced since that is the type of lunch meat I like. An employee had to mention to Tammy, the woman working the Deli that i was there and was she going to help me. The second I mentioned to Tammy that I was looking for Olive Loaf she rudely says "We haven't sold Olive Loaf in over a year". I didn't know that because I don't shop there regular. She didn't hand the 3/4 pound of cheese I ordered to me, she instead drops it on top of the Deli case. Then she starts talking over me when I tried to tell her to have a nice day. This is probably the worst service I have ever received. Sadly, service like this is why people go to Shoprite and Walmart. Acme is digging their own grave. read more

My mask had broke last night and I needed to get some food to cook and eat and did not have a mask, in order to do so. However, I went into the doorway of the store and was immediately stopped in which I explained my only mask broke may I have one so I can shop for food but was immediately shunned by the employee and told she doesn't have one and to "get the hell out" which then a fellow customer offered one but I would have to wait as it was in her car so I waited by the door and then was yelled once more by the employee and verbally attacked. I respect people's wish for safety with regards to wearing a mask and had no intention to not wear one. So I then politely asked after being told to wait in the cold for a mask being treated and looked at like a sub human species for the police to come over and explain NJ's mask law stating that if an essential business does not have a mask to give then the person without a mask should be allowed to shop for food regardless. The treatment from the two employees on duty was absolute disrespectful and had zero effort to make any attempt for me to be able to shop. read more

I just moved here & I seem to always have a problem when I go here. The first time the cashier was rude and told me to dump my groceries out of the basket and organize it so it was easier for her to bag .. she pushed back all of the customer behind me groceries to where they almost fell off and just sat there and watched me put the few items I had there .. the second time the cashier told me I should not put my employee discount in while he is ringing because it makes it harder for him since it is slow and was very annoyed . Then he didn't bag while he was ringing and he was taking a very long time and gave up 2/3 of the way and just started ringing up the next guess and left me to bag the rest of my groceries .. if I wanted to bag my groceries I would've went to self check out. It is their job to ring up and bag the groceries with a smile and provide customer service which this store has failed the whole two times I've gone. Will not be shopping here again , Wegmans has much better customer service. read more

I replied no and thanked him and continued shopping. he came back up to me and said that he was the store director and would give me "free groceries" for a favor... he commented that he loved my long blond hair and that i looked sexy in my heels and dress. I was embrassed, scared, overwhelmed I didn't know what to do. I left my things and went home and told my husband. he was furious and called the police and the family lawyer.
