Even the menu is constructed from old license plates. Service was exquisite but more importantly the food was good and satisfying. They do breakfast food right. My friends and I all got the BB's breakfast which is basically some biscuits smothered/covered in gravy and scrambled eggs--so good. We started with one order of cheese curds which was acceptable/yummy (obviously nowhere close to the goodness you get in Wisconsin). Great little small town breakfast place. We've driven by this place countless times but never stopped in. That's not to say it isn't always packed as can be -- because it is! In a town that doesn't have a lot of restaurants we decided there was no better place to grab breakfast with my parents after early morning Black Friday shopping. They have really embraced the theme as the entire inside is just adorable and fits the "fill up station" atmosphere. The menus front and back are license plates which is adorable. The main thing though? The amount of food you get is RIDICULOUS -- in a great way! It's definitely a small town restaurant and you're paying small town prices and getting huge portions. We had four adults, ordered add ons and our entire table was full of food for $45. The food wasn't anything fancy but was good old fashioned consistent breakfast food. We got there around 8:30 and it was already crowded and just got even more crowded as we were eating. We'll definitely come back again before we leave! read more

We frequent Ace's, I would say at least two or three times a month. Good, Southern, diner style restaurant. Home cooking. Locals hangout, basically. Great breakfast. Food is good. Not gourmet and not the best in town, but VERY consistent. Prices are really good, staff is always friendly and attentive, treats everyone like a friend. Staff does not have high turnover, you're likely to see the same people over and over. Don't come here looking for amazing food in a swanky, modern restaurant. Went for breakfast on a Sunday. I can't believe that I live here and have never been inside of the place. It's clean and not crowded with tables. The parking lot has parking places perilously close to Highway 90 (or "Caroline Street," as some people prefer)...if you park next to the road with your hood towards the north, I'd suggest backing into the parking lot and exiting elsewhere, giving yourself a better line-of-sight to leave. I can't remember the name of what I had to eat. it was a bowl of creamy grits, topped with American cheese, scrambled eggs, and chunks of snausage (see picture). It turned out to be more food that I thought when I first saw it, and it came with a huge biscuit that was light and delicious...although the biscuit could have been cooked for a couple of more minutes (I posted a picture of the biscuit too...my girlfriend thinks that I'm insane). I couldn't finish everything, although I gave it my best attempt. I think my meal was $6.95. My girlfriend had the half-order of biscuits (one large biscuit) and sausage gravy. I'm pretty sure the white gravy is made from a mix--uniform texture and not as tasty as homemade--but there was a LOT of sausage in the gravy and she was satisfied with the plate. There are two buffet-style bars, one a cold bar with salad and fixin's on it, and a hot bar that had maybe 12-16 different sides/veggies. I got the impression that they have blue plate-type lunches every weekday, although I didn't ask. What I did notice is that they have spaghetti every Wednesday...which I intend to sample soon. There is also an all-you-can-eat crab legs night (for $24.99), but I don't remember which night, although it is either Friday or Saturday evening. I'll definitely go back, and soon. Stopped by today for the first time and it was a disappointment to say the least. After hearing countless people rant about how good it was my friend and I decided to give it a shot! Well first off if you're looking for Southern homestyle cooking keep driving. I had a Milton omelette, which was decent in size but subpar at best. My friend had the French toast and they didn't even finish their breakfast, it was cold and rather bland tasting. We shared a half order of biscuits and gravy, but we're sad to report it tasted like it came straight out of a frozen package. Very disappointing experience. Sunday chicken dinner is good however 3 years ago the portions were bigger however it is still good. My wife wanted to find a home style resturant for a quick meal this past week and we stumbled on Ace's. We've lived in Milton for three years now and have just come across this resturant. It's set back just off the main road through Milton, sorounded by fast food chains and car repair shops, not exactly a stand out location which is unfortunate because the food was great. We were promplty seated when we arrived and the wait staff was pleasant and very helpfull. The food came in about 20 minutes after we ordered and was exactly what we had wanted; a home cooked, good portioned meal that we probably would have been happy to pay a few extra bucks for. The place has a weird smell when you first go in. Becka was a great sweet server who made sure all of our needs are taken care of. The water tasted as if it was from a faucet outside, so if I were you I would only drink bottled water. This is our second time eating here and each time has been fantastic. The staff is attentive and polite. The food is delicious, plentiful and very affordable. Even the "market price" items under entrees are decently priced. Quaint diner atmosphere with salad/soup/side bar and daily specials.
