I followed all his instructions, e.g., updated BIOS, changed colour calibration and turned the night mode on/off, but the colours are not displayed well regardless of all that. My eyes hurt from working with such display. My roommate could also see that the colours are displayed badly. I asked for refund and Paul told me that yes, he can see the difference in colours, but if my eyes hurt from the display, that's my problem, not the screen's He went on explaining how good this new screen is, but if it does not display colours correctly and hurts my eyes, it doesn't work for me. He still refused to take it back and refund me. Result of dealing with Paul: spent $360 on a screen that doesn't display colours correctly and hurts my eyes. Cannot use my laptop. Have to spend another ~$360 elsewhere for a new screen. Save your nerves and money and have your devices fixed elsewhere.

He fixed my computer in one night and was willing to go to NCIX and buy replacement parts at no extra charge besides what NCIX would normally charge. My computer that wouldn't even POST (that means even do the very basic steps of turning on for those of you that don't know computers) and I wasn't sure what was wrong with it anymore. Paul had all of the equipment necessary to test it and to find out what the problem was. Turned out that it was a defective processor; he found this out when it BURNED the motherboard that he was testing it in. Paul still charged me his flat rate of $120 for diagnosis despite incurring at *LEAST* $50 in damages from my faulty CPU melting his motherboard. Bottom line: If you want your computer fixed fast take it to Paul. While he charges $120 for diagnosis, he does not charge extra for labor which means he is cheaper than NCIX and many other repair places around town when you consider the insane amount that they charge per hour.

All these years of paying Apple repair prices for maintaining devices are over for me. If you have any Apple device that needs repair, I highly recommend you call Mac Place first. My mid 2011 iMac wouldn't boot up and I thought for sure I was going to throw it out as I figured it would cost more to fix than just getting a new iMAC, but I thought, can't hurt to call someone on the north shore with a good reputation and see if they can fix it. I called Mac Place as they were just half a block away from where I lived and was able to drop it off within 10 mins of calling them. As soon as I dropped it off, the repair person had the screen off and diagnose the issue as a failed power supply within 5 minutes and gave me a quote of 150 to fix it, 85 for the parts and 65 for the labour. I was so surprised that it was a no brainer to go ahead and do it as I was planning on using my iMac as a secondary monitor and this was way cheaper than buying a new Apple monitor. In addition, he found that the left fan was failing and replaced it for just the cost of the part which was $25 and didn't charge me labour for it. I was able to get my iMAC fixed within a couple of hours. I can't think of any other business that operates this efficiently and professionally. I was blown away at the level and quality of service. Watching the technician take apart my iMAC at the speed and care that he did tells me he's been doing this for years and extremely confident at what he does. Don't let the size of these smaller businesses fool you, these are the diamonds in the rough that are hard to find and when you find them, you want to keep them. I highly recommend Mac Place for all of your Apple service repairs. They are indeed awesome!

I am so insanely impressed with this business…read more Backstory: My laptop (Acer Aspire E 16) keyboard suddenly started having problems. Certain keys (w, e, r, tab weren't working). Obviously extremely frustrating. After doing a ton of software things (rebooting, filter keys, internal battery reset...) I deduced that it must've been a hardware issue. After reviewing some DIY videos for my specific model - I realized it was an impossibility to do it myself. So I ordered a generic E5-575 keyboard off Amazon ($40, 2 day shipping with Prime) for expediency. Now, I needed to find a service provider that could execute a complex keyboard change. Search: I called a few nearby shops: some places were reluctant to give me quotas, and others gave vague promises of timeline. I was in a rush - I filtered on Yelp for a shop that was open both Sunday and late - and found this business. I called the number, a lovely woman picked up, and promised me her business partner (the more computer-savvy one as they do a diversified amount of services) would call me back. He did within an hour (they truly are available on a 24h basis!) and we had a few transparent conversations both over the phone and on text that night. Execution: Jon Barber is an extremely reliable, extremely nice, and AWESOME individual to work with. He was willing to pick up and drop off the laptop + keyboard from my residence (although we later met at a halfway point that was convenient for me given my schedule), and gave me a quick turnaround (just 2 hours!). After having picked up my laptop and the keyboard, he worked with his business partner (that had specific expertise regarding this type of change), and even told me that the # of hours that would go into this was more than expected. Do you know how rare this is? They charge per hour and gave me a fair warning to how long it would take (and then we settled on it in the interim) instead of just going ahead and stiffing me with the bill later. Can't have any more good things to say. Come here for anything you need.

I was kind of freaked out as this was my only computer and I have school and work to do on it and I knew from past experiences that it would take at least week to get fixed. I also work 7 days a week and I didn't know when I would be able to get away from work to drop it off somewhere. I got a friend to Google the closest computer repair shops to me and one of the names was Dynaworx. I called and a very friendly man named Jon answered and after I explained to him what I thought happened I asked him his hours and was trying to figure out when I could squeeze away to drop it off. Jon then offered to come by my place to pick up my laptop that night! It was already 10:30pm!! Who does that? I couldn't believe it! I obviously said yes to that agreement! Jon was even nicer in person then on the phone! He explained to me in my language (which is NOT computer tech) what he was going to do and he said he would call me when he found out what was going on. Sure enough the next day I got a call from Jon telling me what viruses I got and how he was fixing them and told me that it would be ready the next day!! I couldn't believe it! I was expecting at least a week to be without a computer. The next day when it was ready Jon once again offered to come by my house to drop off my lap top. He explained to me what went wrong and actually installed three different virus protection scanners for me! I would have had no clue what to do so that was extremely helpful and he gave me an mp3 player! How great is that?! I couldn't believe it, in two days I got my lap top fixed and I didn't have to even go out of my way to drop anything off, I got a free mp3 player and three different virus scanners, it was almost worth getting a virus!
