At first I thought the service was good but I ended up losing $360 dollars and I still need a new screen. Paul replaced my laptop screen, it came out displaying colours with a bad contrast. I followed all his instructions, e.g., updated BIOS, changed colour calibration and turned the night mode on/off, but the colours are not displayed well regardless of all that. My eyes hurt from working with such display. My roommate could also see that the colours are displayed badly. I asked for refund and Paul told me that yes, he can see the difference in colours, but if my eyes hurt from the display, that's my problem, not the screen's He went on explaining how good this new screen is, but if it does not display colours correctly and hurts my eyes, it doesn't work for me. He still refused to take it back and refund me. Result of dealing with Paul: spent $360 on a screen that doesn't display colours correctly and hurts my eyes. Cannot use my laptop. Have to spend another ~$360 elsewhere for a new screen. Save your nerves and money and have your devices fixed elsewhere. read more

I hate computer repair places; they'll charge you insane amounts of money and even then, they'll usually take at least a week to get to your computer. But Paul is different. He fixed my computer in one night and was willing to go to NCIX and buy replacement parts at no extra charge besides what NCIX would normally charge. My computer that wouldn't even POST (that means even do the very basic steps of turning on for those of you that don't know computers) and I wasn't sure what was wrong with it anymore. Paul had all of the equipment necessary to test it and to find out what the problem was. Turned out that it was a defective processor; he found this out when it BURNED the motherboard that he was testing it in. Paul still charged me his flat rate of $120 for diagnosis despite incurring at *LEAST* $50 in damages from my faulty CPU melting his motherboard. Bottom line: If you want your computer fixed fast take it to Paul. While he charges $120 for diagnosis, he does not charge extra for labor which means he is cheaper than NCIX and many other repair places around town when you consider the insane amount that they charge per hour. read more

My mac suddenly broke down and while looking up for IT repair stores, I came up with UHelpCo who seemed to have many positive reviews. The location was a little bit hard to find as it is an address for drop-off at a convenient store. The pick-up told me there's already 2 laptops before me waiting to be fixed. I was a bit worried as I didn't know when I would be able to get my laptop fixed for school. The following night Paul called me and told me my macbook was fixed and ready for pick up tomorrow. Price was much cheaper than other stores, but the engineer did not deliver as the store front promised. He injured his finger while fixing my laptop and continuously brought that up, saying it was an extremely difficult task. Don't think they should have accepted the job if the guy was gonna complain. All keys worked in the end but some keys definitely function worse than others. read more

I had problem with my macbook pro, some vertical lines appear when I try to turn on the computer, this guy told me that he can fix it and actually he did it! When my computer's motherboard fried after a big move, Paul was a lifesaver for finding the part (it had been discontinued, as my poor computer is rather ancient) and installing it. He also helped set me up with a new SSD, and was incredibly easy to reach, even past listed hours. Happened again unfortunately, 2 weeks ago, had to write a negative review about a auto shop that was on Yelp with very good reviews, and it was a mess of a situation, this coming from a 59 yr. teacher who does not like to waste time doing things like THIS and not a complainer unless people are trying to STEAL your money and not following their own business practices or following through with their business handling. Happened again here today . Brought my computer to this place 3262 west broadway, STAY AWAY! There are other places to try. Very simple job of attaching the mouse pad part back on my laptop on the touchpad. I could have glued it myself but wanted it done by a pro and was willing to pay a few bucks for a few minutes work. 5 to 10 was my budget. Was told that the pro was not there and the workshop was elsewhere, should have left with my computer but said ok, as they were supposed to call me(gave all my info.) to tell me how much it would cost and when I could pick-up. Phoned after several hours as I did not hear from them. This is what I heard, we are working on it and not easy job! It will be 40 to 50 dollars, the computer is 9 years old and worth less than that. I said stop, not going to happen, not following what was told to me, were supposed to give me an estimate before any work.They asked what is your budget, right then you knew, WHAT A SCAM BUSINESS, trying to take a working person's hard-earned money, called THEFT ladies and gentlemen. Paul, seemed like a reasonable person on the phone realized that I had been wronged and said just leave what you think is right, I told him would leave 10, and I did. They just glued it on, I could have done the same thing as it is sticky and was expecting them to know more than me in this area. The lady at the front did not seem happy as I guess her commission was affected in their scam business dealings. Not how you run a business and serve customers. Hope people read this and will now go to social media. These are facts people, and am worried about these reviews, just seems that rules that Yelp has set out are not being followed, like having reviews written by people connected to the business, let's face it, it brings in customers and money. But Paul (the technician/engineer?) was able to have my computer fixed fast (just one night!) with very reasonable price. Paul is great. Not only did he fix my broken monitor really fast, but he even picked it up and dropped it off back at my house for free because I was within the area. He also explained the problem to me well, and even added some extra screws to my wobbly monitor stand that I didn't even ask for. If he can't fix the problem he will charge you a minimum fee, which he warns you about beforehand, and I guess is fair because he does offer free delivery. I will definitely come back again if I ever have any more hardware problems in the future. read more

Tucked away in a residential area, I have to admit I had a little trouble finding the place since there isn't really any sign around. Nonetheless, Paul, who eventually found me after a quick phone call, was extremely friendly and professional about his work. When I dropped by today, hoping to get the battery removed from my Asus Zephyrus laptop, the experience was almost hilarious. I didn't get to see the Paul guy that other reviews have mentioned, as apparently he's out of town. The person at the front was a Chinese lady, who undoubtedly has zero experience with computers. When I first asked if I can get it done, her first response was, and I quote: "a battery? Why don't you do it yourself?". She said all of this without looking up from texting on her phone. Are you serious? It's a 4000 dollar gaming laptop with screws patented by Asus, if you knew anything about computers, which you don't and shouldn't pretend to, means that I can't easily deal with it on my own. I had to explain to her, the lady that is now managing computer restorations, how patents work. When she finally decided to put down her phone and look at my laptop, she intended to attempt the removal with some tools that she had borrowed from Paul, and was only going to charge me 10 dollars. She clearly didn't even know that Asus has their own line of screws and screwdrivers- how was she to know where the battery is in my laptop? The tools she wanted to use weren't even hers! If I let her keep trying, she probably would've broke it. Needless to say, even if Paul comes back, I won't be coming again. There are other repair shops nearby that have much better customer service, and doesn't try to crack open your laptop without even a shred of technological knowledge. read more

Paul was not very honest with my money. I have a cracked screen on my sony tap 11 touch screen and he said he can fix it by disabling the keyboard but I could have done it myself and I wish I did because I did not know he would charge me 100 dollars only to have disabled my keyboard. In our conversation I wanted the screen to be replaced and I was very desperate for a fix with the touch because without the function my tablet is not very useful as the keyboard only charges with the device turned off... read more

I was having a problem with my Samsung laptop where the battery was getting discharged really quickly. I contacted Paul and requested him to fix it. He said it could be the dirt stuck on the inside or the battery itself needs replacement. He said it will cost be 120 $ to fix it. He said he will clean the laptop right away and return it the next day but I need to buy the battery on my own as it was not easily available in the market and he will just change the battery once I have it. I agreed and paid him the 120 $ and ordered the battery which I had with me in the next 2 weeks and I tried to get in touch with him for a service that I have already paid for, but he replied to my first email saying he was out of town but now he doesn't even reply and its been 3 weeks since I have the new battery and I am trying to get in touch with him and fix this problem but in vein. On inquiring from others during this period I also realized that the price was very high because the charge for changing the battery is just 60 $ on an average.
