I parked for approximately one hour in a shared-fence area adjacent to The Spot. There were no visible signs indicating that parking was restricted, nor were there any warnings that vehicles would be towed. When I returned, I discovered my vehicle was gone. It was only by chance that I noticed a tow truck removing another vehicle and realized my car had been towed--not stolen. I called the number listed on the tow truck and was told my car had been taken to a lot a few minutes away. I was driven to a dark, unlit, and unsecured lot where multiple tow trucks were parked and several individuals were being forced to sign paperwork and pay large sums of money in order to retrieve their vehicles. I had no choice but to comply. I paid $665 and signed forms in poor lighting, under pressure. Once I got home and reviewed my receipt, I noticed a $136 "one-day holding fee"--despite the fact that my vehicle was actively being lowered off the truck as I arrived. My car was never "held" on the property for a full day, making the charge unjustifiable and predatory. These people are unethical and plan to report them to the better business bureau. read more

This company told my car from an apartment complex unlawfully so even though they took pictures that looked very damning anyone can alter photos to make text Pop which is what they did when they told my car. They need to come up with a new process for companies towing vehicles from spots that are not well marked. When calling to get information about how and when they told my car they don't keep record of any of these incidences which is very telling of the business practices this company and the apartment complex keep. They are processed currently makes me believe that they have some type of nefarious agreement for towing cars off of their property. This is a bad look for visitors for the apartment company "The marq" and this towing company. $550 later and a walk of shame I had to walk home 11: 00pm at night. read more

They towed my car from my own apartment complex because my parking pass "wasn't visible." The pass was in the car -- it had just shifted slightly out of view. Instead of making any effort to verify or use common sense, they immediately towed it. It feels predatory and opportunistic. They clearly patrol looking for the smallest technicality so they can tow and charge outrageous fees. There was zero attempt to contact me or give any kind of warning. The whole process was stressful, inconvenient, and expensive. Companies like this take advantage of residents and hide behind strict policy instead of showing basic decency or professionalism. On 10/17/2025, three of their employees attempted to tow my 2012 Yukon Denali from a vacant property for sale. They coerced a $180 payment and ignored my financial situation entirely. When my uncle, an attorney, advised calling the police, they told us it didn't matter and the cops would side with them. One even said I was "mad because I got caught." The employees were intimidating and hostile: * A white male in a white truck with a goatee, aggressive demeanor * A heavyset Hispanic male, confrontational with body language suggesting aggression * A Mexican male with tattoos covering his face, glaring at me and my 15-year-old daughter After this incident, my car's stock air ride suspension was damaged, creating a whining noise while idling. My vehicle was towed there due to a collision. I didn't set up the tow, the police department did. I wanted to grab my glasses so I could see, and they wanted me to pay $150 for the weekend fee just to get my glasses. my insurance was paying them for it having being stored there, I wish a company would have some simple act of empathy on people who have the unfortunate event of having to have their vehicle with them I wish they would have even considered to look for the glasses themselves and hold them at the counter, but business is business I guess. Kimberly was amazing!! I can't speak for anyone else there at Ace Towing Santa Rosa... but she was an absolute angel!! My car was towed on a Saturday night... couldn't pick it up Sunday because they were closed but when I went on Monday Kimberly gave me a huge break mostly due to my personal circumstances. She gave me a significant reduction in towing/storage fees. Today I went into ace towing to pick up my vehicle due to a parking infraction. When I arrived at the office at 8:05, the doors were unlocked and the office was empty. While waiting for service, I stood at the front counter and notice in front of me. A stack of invoices including names, phone numbers, addresses, make model, license plate number, last 5 of my VIN, Along with traffic infractions, sitting face up in a small file bin. I was left alone in that room for about 10 minutes. Until somebody arrived After paying my bill, I brought this to the attention of the staff who had processed my transaction, and let them know that it felt like a violation of personal information. The response from the staff member was that I should not be looking through paperwork, and that they file those documents daily, where she gestured to a lose and unlocked file folder right next to it. On the front counter. I explained that regardless of my individual intentions, I know that my information we'll be on top of that stack later that day, where anybody can view my personal information. I explained the importance of keeping people's personal data and information safe and the staff completely disregarded my concern. I am concerned to know that in giving my information to this company that it is not safe. I really hope that this company takes the time to ensure the protection of people's personal information moving forward. read more

Went to the Windsor town green on Thursday night to be with family. I have a current California disability placard and proceeded to find a close parking spot. Drove through many streets for about 30 minutes to no avail in finding either a regular or disabled parking spot. Decided to park at the Oliver's parking lot and displayed the placard. Came back at 8:30 with my wife to get in our car and drive home. No car present. Talked to a gentleman who apparently was in charge of calling tow companies to remove cars. He mentioned to me that at the police dept. that there were 7 disabled spots. I had driven thru there, no spots and a sign that stated police vehicles only. Cost $485 to retrieve the car out of impound. No justice for the elderly and disabled. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Parked our car in an empty lot in downtown Petaluma last night for less then an hour. Came back and our car was gone. We asked businesses, people, and the police, if anyone called to tow the car and they hadn't. We call the number on the sign and the person who answered the phone was so rude and not helpful. We take an Uber less then 2 miles down the road to a dark dirt road with no lights whatsoever, no office, nothing. It felt like we were going to get murdered. I asked the tow truck driver who called him and he told me nobody did and he just drives around specific lots looking for people to tow. So nobody called them and they just do this because they can?? I give Ace Towing in Petaluma NEGATIVE 100 stars. BEWARE! This is a scamming & predatory tow company lurking in the Petaluma/Sonoma area. We parked at Autozone after business hours. The lot was being utilized by at least 20 cars. There were 0 visible signs saying no parking & no streets lights period. We returned after about 40 minutes to find our vehicle had been towed. It was so curious, we actually believed it had been stolen! We called the police who notified us our car had been towed by ACE! These 'employees aka sharks' came back in two tow trucks & were rude--- talked jokingly at us, & tried to justify their behavior in singling out our vehicle amongst a full lot of parked cars. Then they joked about how much fun we'd have paying $460 to get our vehicle back from a tow lot only 3 miles away. The driver at Ace Towing also explained he runs security for Autozone suggesting a clear relationship between these two businesses in regards to scamming unsuspecting good people & patrons in the Petaluma, Sonoma area. $460 is more than a tow in NYC or SF. These businesses should not be trusted. I got my car towed by this company last night and while it's frustrating getting your car towed. I would say the more frustrating part would be when you are connected to the caller (after hours of operations) they say it will be $600 or so to get your car the same day. However, what they do not tell you is it will be cheaper to go the following day during hours of operation. Getting towed is expensive enough but at least they could let people know of this. Hope this helps anyone who's had their car towed by ACE. read more
