Word of caution before choosing this granite/marble company…read more We researched several companies in the area to find the specific color and slab we wanted for our replacement countertop. Our initial experience with the northern New Hanover County location was mixed. While we found the perfect color match, the customer service from Emily was disappointing. Despite that, we moved forward with the purchase because the slab met our needs. One positive aspect was the quick transition from purchase to installation scheduling. The installers were professional and courteous, but during the installation, the lead installer informed us that the slab had been dropped off balance, breaking a piece of our wall tile. He apologized and told us to contact the office to arrange a repair once we found a replacement tile. After several attempts to work with Emily, who claimed it wasn't covered due to fine print in the contract, we reached out to Constantine (the owner) directly via text. He instructed us to locate the tile and assured us they would send someone to fix it once it arrived. We informed him on March 29, 2024, that we had found the replacement tile, and he replied, "Thank you, please keep me posted." After receiving the tile, we sent follow-up messages on May 4, June 2, July 22, and finally on August 22, 2024--yet, we have never heard back from Constantine or the company. It's unfortunate that they didn't honor their commitment to resolve the issue.

Even though it was over a month away, Dawn would not promise that they could schedule it on March 3rd. She was rather cold and rushed threw showing me the granite available until I said I would put down a deposit. Then she was nice. Once March came, I told them they can come out anytime before 6pm but I need to leave at 6pm to go to work. So of coarse he showed up at 5:50pm and took 30 minutes to measure and argued that he thought it should look a different way. I ran out of time and so he had to go. He struggled with understanding english. I called the next day and told them to send someone that can measure correctly and they said a manager would come out. Another week went by and no one showed or called. I called and left messages several times but heard nothing. Finally, I got threw and a man named Mitched apologized that he lost my paperwork. I told them to forget it, just give me my money back. I didn't receive my money back for a few weeks after having to get my credit card company to dispute it. Plus they kept $200. I just relocated here from Cary, NC. I have been remodeling homes for 30 years and have never had issues with my granite guy in Cary. After this I went to Francisco Alegre. He came and measured my counter the next day and took 5 minutes without any arguments. He sent me to Easy Stone to pick out my granite. They had a much larger selection and less expensive. It was installed 3 days later. I am very happy with his work and will continue all my business with him. Sorry for the long review but reviews are all we have these days to protect us from crappy customer service.

My experience with Thomas at Carolina's Stone, Marble, and Granite was fantastic. My dad, a…read morecontractor, has known Thomas for many years and connected me with him to assist with a very special project to me -- I was looking for a piece to replace a marble table top that broke during a move. This table is so meaningful to me; it was a wedding gift to my great grandparents, and I was devastated when the marble broke. Thomas and his team not only helped me find a beautiful piece to replace it, but also cut the salvaged broken marble into four hot/cold plates, three of which I gifted to family. On top of an amazing experience, the price was also right! Thank you, Thomas and team! See before and afters attached :)

I was told the material was super durable! The countertop was damaged from day one. When I called and spoke with a rep I was told "that is not suppose to happen." Now the company is only willing to repair the damaged countertop which their installers damaged boring the hole for the hardware! I am not satisfied with their response. On top of that--their contractor that installed my tile backsplash damaged my kitchen walls. They tried to deny it telling Carolina Stone that the damage was already there. They are the one who put tape on the wall then carelessly ripped it off leaving damage which will need significant repair! This is unacceptable from a place of business to treat their customer so poorly!

You can stop your search with trying to find a reputable fabricator. Trust me, I have had all of…read morethem in my home from Charlotte, Monroe, and Matthews. Hands down Custom Granite Solutions was the winner by far not only due to price but the fact they could do so much more than just countertops. The initial meeting was to discuss the project and how they would go about it. They offered suggestions of things we had not even considered so we were confident in their abilities from the very beginning. We made our countertop selection from one of the distributors that Custom Granite Solutions uses and waited for our slab to arrive at the warehouse. Elbert suggested that we go look at the slab prior to installation, just to make sure the color was the same as the distributor's sample. Much to our disappointment, the slab was much whiter than I had hoped. I called Elbert and he let me know the issue would be addressed. The next day he called with a satisfactory solution that got our project back on track. He went over and above what we expected to make this right. Each of the individual craftsmen (countertop and tile installers and the plumber) were all amazing. The countertop installer took his time when demoing the old countertop and backsplash. They put down drop cloths to protect our hardwood floors and cleaned up periodically during the process. We requested they try to save our cast iron sink which they were able to do saving us $700. The sink had to be cleaned due to all the adhesive from the previous install which they took to their shop and did. It turned out amazing and looks brand new. During the countertop install, the contractor showed us that the previous installer had not leveled our countertops correctly (due to unlevel floors) which was evident in the unevenness of our previous backsplash. The installer took the time to level all the countertops rather than install them as was previously done. The tile contractor was used to install backsplash that we provided. We were told upfront from Elbert what supplies to get such as the tile grout and caulk. The installer asked us what we paid for the supplies and that we could get them much cheaper from Lowe's or Home Depot which amounted to a $95 savings. We were so thankful that he took the time to ask this question and to explain the difference between sanded and non-sanded to ensure we picked out exactly what we needed for our install. He even offered suggestions as to the grout color by showing us pictures of previous jobs he had done. Just like the countertop installer, he took his time in making sure everything was done to perfection. The plumber was great as well. He made a few suggestions regarding the kitchen faucet such as not installing the cover plate for a slicker look which we love. Lastly, all the contractors cleaned up at the end of their installations. I am a clean freak and only needed to mop when they left. This really helped with our hectic schedules. We are so thankful that each of these contractors treated this project like it was their own home. That says a lot about this company's reputation. Thanks again Custom Granite Solutions our kitchen turned out beautifully. You guys are the best!! Tracie W.
