I had Ace come to my home a couple of months ago to re-key two doorknobs. After they left, one of the doorknobs would catch occasionally and not open even though it wasn't locked. I lived with it for a while as it would open after jiggling it a little. Recently, it got worse, so I called Ace to come and look at it. When the tech got here, he said they "don't fix that" but he could replace it the doorknob. He was here for maybe a half hour total and installed a new $40 doorknob. I was charged $307 dollars. Apparently, I was charged $90 just for the guy to drive here and $175/hr (one our minimum). I found this to be absolutely outrageous, especially given the fact that I didn't have a problem until Ace re-keyed my locks. I will never use them again and I strongly suggest that you don't either. It's no wonder people can't afford to live when business screw people like this. Disgusting. read more

This locksmith is SUPER, their keys always fit whatever I am trying to duplicate. They are most helpful, I live in Boston and don't mind traveling out to Norwood to have them complete my work. Excellent well run operation. I had a old item requiring a New lock or key. I brought it to another lock place and they had it 6 months, then tells me can a new lock or key... I pick up item and brought to Ace who I had some locks rekeyed while I waited. Well Ace calls me next day and tells me he was able to make a key from existing lock and all set in less than 24 hours...vs item sitting at other lock place for at least 6 months or more until I asked about and told me to pick it up.... After 19 years, my husband's original key fob for his 2005 Camry stopped working. I ordered two replacement aftermarket fobs from eBay and brought them to this locksmith to be programmed. It took him about 10 minutes and he only charged me $20 to program the two key fobs. My son locked his keys in his car, called this place and was told it would be 150.00. My son was there to meet the tech and the tech charged him 160.00.Proceeded to tell him call insurance they will pay for it When I called to inquire the tech called me and said, well, it's Thanksgiving. While the new "mobile" locksmiths are convenient, most wanted $100 just to drive out. One guy said my problem wouldn't be worth it. Another was so unscrupulous as to tell me to buy a new lock--then stick the broken one in the same box and return it to the store. Wow. Safe to say I would never hire him. Luckily I found Ace Locksmith, who are knowledgable and have a brick & mortar store. They are the only place that has made house keys for me for over 20 years, and I was always pleased that I never had a problem with the product. I did call to duplicate my Saab 9-3 key, but they do not have the capability to duplicate that particular transponder key. They were, however, the ONLY locksmith or locksmith etc., that answered my email and rapidly so, regarding their ability to do the work; even though several car repair, parts shops, locksmiths, and hardware stores did NOT REPLY. Even though their web sites stated " just fill in this form or email us and we will answer soon". They could not be bothered unless they were making money on the reply. I had a great experience with Peter at Ace Locksmith.. I had lost the keys to my car and the dealer was going to charge me $350 for a new one. Then I realized I had a valet key and Peter was able to cut a new key from the valet key and simply include the necessary Key transponder and it worked great. He provided a sheet with detailed instructions on how to activate the key with my car. The best part was it only cost me $35 instead of $350! Great customer service and quick turnaround, I will definitely be coming back. If you are able to get a valet key cut for your vehicle I highly recommend it. Home Depot did the one for my Tahoe. It will save you a lot of money not having to go to the dealership when you can just take it to Ace! read more

The lock on the primary door at home quit taking keys. It was roughly 2 years old and I guessed it must need a minor repair of some sort so made an appointment with Ace. Very fast, friendly, and easy. Gentlemen arrived and after I described the problem he suggested I buy a lock lubricant and try to DIY rather than pay him to squirt two shots of lubricant in the knob and deadbolt locks. 100% worked perfectly. I had an experience with Ace today that could've been better. I bought a replacement lock from them that I think was defective. I was a tough job to install and to be fair I damaged it further in the process. The owner was very helpful over the phone and when I went to see him the first time. The second time I was up front with him and explained how I had trouble with it jamming and that the problem was probably half my fault. He confirmed that I damaged the lock on the first install and sold me a new lock at full price. At that point we were both trying to control our frustration and we were both polite, but tense. The reason I think the first lock was defective was that I able to install the second lock in less than 10, maybe 5 minutes. I think he could have given me a break on the second lock as the first was probably defective. I'm giving them 2 stars for because their previous service has been good and today was a bad day for both of us. read more

I recieved wonderful service from Ace Locksmith! I've never had to change my locks before and was afraid of the cost I'd heard nightmares stories about. Ace was very highly recommended from a friend. When I called to ask, the man was so nice he explained everything, my options, (like that I could bring the knob to them to save money, (if I was mechanically inclined enough to get it out of the door, but I'm not). They have all the tools on their van to make as many spare keys as you need, and although I didn't shop around for prices, I was happy to pay what they quoted me since it was hundreds less than I'd feared. I needed a duplicate car key as the blade on original one broke. I purchased a key shell and visited Ace Locksmith. I was greeted well. I was a little shocked after hearing about charges for making duplicate car key. It was lowest I had ever heard. They also replaced sensors within original key to duplicate as well. Here is the best part. The key worked on FIRST attempt on car ignition (later I learned though that I should have tried on trunk first). Given the fact that it was not laser cut, it simply indicates craftsmanship. I was very impressed. Highly recommended.
