The Suncast sheds they sell at Ace Hardware (not just Longmont location) are very poor quality and made of cheap plastic.. The hinges for the doors are an absolute joke. A metal piece that curves around the plastic doors and is supposed to stay on - does not stay on. The shed itself except for the bolts and struts is all cheap plastic. And don't even try to understand the confusing poorly written "international" written instructions. Even my engineer friend said junk. read more

These guys have made a customer for life! I bought a very expensive pellet grill/smoker from them back in Dec '22 and had a lot of problems with flare-ups. Anytime the grill went over 350, if there was any grease it would light on fire, which made it pretty useless as a grill. I worked with the manufacturer for months on this issue and they ended up being mostly unhelpful. I had resigned myself to the fact that I had an expensive piece of equipment that was defective and only going to perform 50% of the function it was intended for. It never occurred to me that Ace would be willing to replace the grill for me after 6 months. Fortunately it did occur to my wife and she asked them the last time we were in. The wonderful person working the grill section, June, said she didn't know for sure, but she took my information down and said she'd have someone call me back. I pretty much put it out of mind and didn't expect a callback but the next day Veronda, the department manager, called me and apologized for the experience and said they would be happy to replace the grill! I just had to bring in the old one. STILL not wanting to get my hopes up I loaded the grill into my truck the next day and took it to Ace. David helped me pick out my new grill, process the return, pay the difference, and to top it all off...setup the FREE build and Delivery for my new grill. He and a few of the great team over at Ace helped me get the old grill off my truck, I drove away, and I had a beautiful, AND WORKING, grill sitting on my deck in two days. This level of customer service has exceeded all my expectations and has restored my faith in hardware stores. Corny but absolutely true. Thank you Ace!! I'm amazed at how thin the stock is at this store. I wanted a small whisk broom. Nope. That would be a special order. I wanted some tan premixed grout (something I routinely bought for crafts in the Ace in tiny Carbondale, Co). Nope, only gray and white. That would be a special order, at least a week. Some heads for the Rainbird sprinkler system (also stocked in Carbondale). Nope... I didn't wait to hear about special order on that one. Kitchen measuring spoons? Nope. The staff at Ace is outstanding. We went there this morning to ask for help removing a stripped screw from my grandson's new toy. The gentleman work diligently to remove it and find a new one. He replaced the batteries and put the toy back together. It wasn't an easy task. Great attitude and I felt so comfortable. The ads call Ace the helpful hardware store. Was looking for a couple of items today, spoke with several employees, none of whom seemed interested in actually finding the items. I was pointed to about four aisles, said "it might be here." And then they walked away. Later saw one of them chatting up their coworkers, so they were definitely really busy. They also mentioned that "just because it is on the website doesn't mean we have it." I have worked retail, many years, and I totally get that it sucks. But inventory (whether it is on the website) is on the employee, as is customer service. That's the job. Apparently they don't want to do well at either. Tried to order it online, it was canceled 20 minutes later. Unlikely they even looked for it. Terrible experience. I love supporting smaller local businesses but this is why I usually shop elsewhere online. read more

OMG, I use to spend a TON of time in here! Why?! Well, they have a lot of crap. Did you break something in the home? Garden need some attention? Post office too far or too packed? Need hot sauce? Have a sweet tooth? Baking or cooking something fancy & need... Everything possible?! What to be rewarded? They have a REWARDS CARD! Ace seriously has you covered! Pricing can lean towards the higher bracket but they have some great unique and local finds. They even have mini carts for your kids to push around and feel all special. I had written a less than stellar review recently. Now I want to compliment the owner/manager and my sales person today Jacob. My complaint involved being unable to use earned credits. The manager made it right and issued me a gift card. I revisited the store today to use it on something I needed for my home. Jason approached me as I stood in an aisle looking confused. In the end I spent twice the amount of my gift card, Jacob helped me special order the item. He was polite, efficient and helpful. You have me back. The selection is very good, and employees very friendly and helpful. I love having the post office inside. I would give this five stars if prices were just a little lower, but they do have great sales if you watch for them. The garden area is small, but nice. Although this is a hardware store, they have an excellent kitchen supply section, easily the best in the city. It used to be even larger, but they opened an actual kitchen store downtown and moved some of their merchandise there. But they still have a terrific selection of supplies for everything from home canning and brewing to baking and cleaning up. It's a great place to just browse, you're bound to find at least one kitchen gadget you never knew existed and now you simply can't live without!!! read more

So dropped by on my lunch break to pick up some deck stain. I stood at the paint counter for 15 minutes and neither of the guys behind the counter could be bothered to even acknowledge me. Ten minutes in to me standing there and another Ace employee came up with a customer who had a question and they guys behind the counter took off to help that customer and didn't say anything to me as they walked right past me. I get being busy, but I finally just left. I'll just go to budget home center next time since the staff can't be bothered at Ace. read more

This store always has what I need - from paint supplies to furnace filters to cleaning products to kitchen supplies. The store is always pretty busy, but all of the employees are so nice and helpful. Many times they've walked me over to the product rather than just pointing in the general direction. This store really does have wonderful employees - I know it's not easy dealing with customers all day long, but they really put in the effort to provide great customer service. I really like this store, it's close to home, they have employees that are friendly and helpful, don't tell you that "I'm with another customer" and walk away from you like they do at that big box, massive store with the orange and white logo. They don't have everything but they have most of what you'd want and if you're looking for nails, screws, nuts, bolts etc... they have a huge selection and you don't have to buy a 100 in a box... you buy what you need separately and the prices aren't outrageous. Yes, some things are more expensive than at that big box store, but you can get in and out of there quickly with what you need. One visit, I forgot my mask and instead of sending me out, I was give a disposable mask at no charge. Hardly any place will just give you a mask at no cost! They have a man making keys and the big box store uses a machine that you have to use with your cell phone and was confusing. I gave up. They also have Ace rewards which give you coupons and points for purchases. I saved $15 yesterday on a lot of items and one of the items was a well priced 100ft medium duty hose that came with a free oscillating sprinkler that I used yesterday. It wasn't fancy but it worked great. I also bought a two way spigot outlet so I could run 2 oscillating sprinklers at once. Such a time saver! The hose is very long but I like that it reaches my much of my front yard from the back of my house. I asked a gentleman salesman about staples for an old staple gun I had inherited. He asked what I was going to use it for and said that it was too light duty to use on the project that I told him about. I told him I'd try the cheaper option of a box of staples. Well, he was right. I tried it out on a magazine and it wouldn't even go through it. I finally tried just the cover and it worked on that. Geez... so that stapler is useless! I'm going back to buy a better stapler and I'll use my Ace rewards which I got on their app and in my email which I think gives me $10! The first Ace reward was mailed to me at random and for signing up, I got a $10 off coupon, then I got an email that gave me an extra $5. Today, I got another email for $5 if used within about 2 weeks and when I went on their app site, I had another $5 offer! So forget the crappy service at the big box stores because if you're shopping those stores for lower prices... Ace rewards totally makes up for it. Check it out. When I made the purchase yesterday, the cashier was actually surprised and said "You got a great deal!" And I think I did too. They also have decorative and gift items that are in my opinion not tacky or "cheap" (as in "not well made"). I'm always tempted to buy something in that department but I'm on a budget... so I can't. So why shop at Ace? For all the reasons above and the Ace rewards, of course. The only negative I found, and it's probably because it's out of season, is the live plant department. My family and I went to Ace Hardware yesterday evening. Normally I love shopping there. This time what I went in for was not in Stock like the website said. We ended up getting the kids a pool so not a complete waste. What I really didn't like was the sales associate Who decided to follow us around everywhere? We went in the store constantly asking me if I needed help. I know the story pretty well. However I feel she was watching us to make sure we. Weren't shoplifters and we are not? I feel very disrespected by this store. All of a sudden things have been great for years been going in there for years spending all sorts of money. Did I mention I'm also one of their rewards members. I mean come on man I get it. People probably steal from your store but I'm not one of them and I don't like being singled out. Hardware section has been greatly expanded & yet most of the drawers are empty. There is still no one around to help you so I'm baffled as to what has actually changed. ONE VERY UPSET CUSTOMER I have never been treated so rudely by a manager AnyWhere! When a customer is visibly upset they should not just be brushed off. He walked away from me instead of showing me where the Item was that I was having trouble finding. Mary on the other hand was very sweet and helpful. If a product is on sale there ought to be a sale price on the shelf next to the regular price Which there was NONE. Mary knew it was not on sale and called the people up front to let them know. They still insisted it was on sale even after a manager said to override it so I could use my 10% off it did not take it. Only the $5 coupon worked. This is not the first time I've had issues with discounts not working. If Ace cares about their customers they will work on correcting these problems. Very DISAPPOINTING read more

Wow, EVERY employee was helpful, attentative and caring. I was greeted when I walked into store and asked if I needed help finding something by another. While shopping for parts for rain barrel, I bumped into the back of a pix ax. I had a surface scratch and small bruise but decided to informed an empolyee of the tool placement. It seems customers have moved tools and plastic containers onto the asle while shopping. The issue was immediately corrected and I was given antiseptic wipe, antibiotic ointment and bandage. read more

I was in here Saturday 11/17 around 3:00pm. This store ceases to amaze me that no one will ever ask to help you almost always in here. I am now wondering since they have the post office inside maybe their workers think most people are going to it and don't need help maybe. I went back to the grill section to see if they carried the new Char Broil oil-less turkey cooker. I was back there at least 10 minutes and no one came over to see if I needed help or even noticed I was there. Could not find what I was looking for and walked out and went else where. Be careful if you ask them to work on your window screens. I had them put new pull tabs on several of my screens. When I brought them home I found holes in the screens; apparently from where they had worked to put the tabs in. When I took them back to the store they said it wasn't their fault and refused to repair them. Now I have screens with holes in them. That's not too helpful in keeping mosquitoes out of my home. read more
