I've enjoyed shopping at this Ace Hardware of Mt. Creek Pkwy for years now because of it's size compared to the big box stores, and the employees in the back have typically been knowledgeable and helpful for whatever I'm looking for. The cashier they've had for at least a few years now though, is awful. Earlier this week, I purchased a wall switch that I already knew may not fix my problem, so I asked her point blank before I checked out how long I had to return it and she told me 30 days. 3 days later, I'm back to return it because it did not fix my problem, and she called the manager up to ask him if she could refund my money for it. He looks things over and says yes, and I mentioned after that that I had asked her specifically 3 days prior about the return and she had told me "Yes, 30 days." Then she said that their 30-day return policy was only for unopened items, and that she had told me that 3 days ago when I asked. I chuckled and said "No, you absolutely did not" and she argued with me about it. I told her she was lying, and she asked me not to come back there again. I responded that she shouldn't be lying to customers about the return policy, and she got mad and said she could replay the video recording of her telling me differently, to which I replied "Good, I'll wait." She then refunded my money as directed by the manager, and I left and may never be back. read more

UPDATE: I took the defective mower to the Ego recommended repair shop. Shortly after dropping it off the tech called and asked me what part had been replaced. My response was none. He said that he called Ego in an attempt to resolve the issue and was told that, based on the serial number, the mower had a known history of stopping, and that parts had been shipped to fix the problem. Based on this information, am I correct in concluding that I was sold a used mower at a new lawn mower price, without being told? I made a formal complaint with the Attorney General's Office last month. There has been NO RESPONSE to it. read more

Spent $800 here today on a new Stihl trimmer and fuel only to have the unit freeze up after only 10 minutes of use. We brought it back in and were told that we would have to leave it there until next week when their mechanic can look at it. Very upset with customer support here we've bought multiple expensive pieces of equipment from this place, but I will be taking my business elsewhere as we do still have several trimmers and other Stihl equipment that needs to be purchased and I will not be spending my money at this Ace Hardware. read more

I went to my neighborhood Ace Hardware store, located at 7586 Mountain Creek Parkway Dallas, TX 75249 on 3/19/22, at 12:19 pm. I experienced one of the worst management (Andrew) and cashier (Kathy) situations I have ever encountered in my life. I've shopped at this local location for a few years, and I have been honored as a Military veteran and received a 10% discount upon showing my Veterans I.D. Today I noticed I only received a -1.00 discount from a $63.85 purchase after I received my receipt from Kathy. I notified the cashier Kathy that I only received a $1.00 discount and that a 10% military discount should be around -$6.38 off of the purchase. Kathy replied there wasn't anything she could do, so I immediately asked for a refund so I could go to another competitor that honors their Veterans and get my 10% discount. She immediately refunded me my money and I asked for a manager. I explained to Andrew who was the manager on duty and he tried to enter the military discount after I showed him my ID again and the system only allowed a $1.00 discount once again. Instead of Andrew being the manager and having the capability to override the system manually and entering the 10% discount for a veteran, Andrew politely apologized and acted like there wasn't anything he could do. I traveled 5 miles to Home Depot in Cedar Hill and purchased my item and received my 10% discount which I should have received from my local Ace Hardware store located less than a half of a mile from my home. This location needs major training and Andrew being the manager should understand the importance of keeping a loyal customer and making sure veterans receive their discounts for picking Ace to shop at while Lowes and Home Depot offer the same incentives for their veterans who choose to do business with their companies. There needs to be training at this location because this should have been a simple override, and a 10% discount entered by the manager. Please send a trainer or allow the District manager to retrain this location because it is needed seriously if it wants to continue to get its market share which is supported by local homeowners. I will call Ace Hardware Customer Care at 1-888-827-4223 Monday morning to make sure this doesn't happen to another Veteran at our local Ace Hardware store. read more

Terrible customer service. I ordered 10 of an item online. An associate called me early the next day to say they only had 5 on-hand. I completely understand that this happens and I appreciated the heads up. When I get there the associate tells me that we can cancel my order for 10 and I can purchase the 5 that they have. He cancels my order and we go to the register. At the register I notice that the item is $10 more expensive and I ask them to price match. Long story short they, including the owner, refuse to price match even though I could pull the item up on my phone and show them the price on aceHardware.com. They ask me to purchase online while in store. I do and their system could not "find" the order. Even though I have the order confirmation email. Finally, they price match as I requested initially. Why wouldn't you do that at first instead of wasting 45 minutes of my time? The next day I had to call and cancel the second online order because they marked it "picked-up" and would have kept my money. If you can go somewhere else do so! I purchased a replacement key fob 2 1/2 months ago and the key stopped working. It has left my daughter stranded at school. The Duncanville/Dallas locate told me that the warranty is for 2 weeks. This was not discussed when I purchased the key nor did I receive anything in writing saying it was good for 2 weeks. I paid nearly $200 dollars. Alex, the manager, originally offered to refund the money if I could bring him the key. He called back and said that the owner and corporate said he couldn't. This was the 1st time I had used Ace in a long time. I WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN. I now have to ship a broken key to her to try and get the car to a location to get the key fob reprogrammed. I drove 30 minutes to this store to rent the Bissell upholstery steam cleaner. This was the only store with the one I needed. Once there, I asked the store associates was it in working condition because I had drove so far and she said it was. She also told me that the Bissell representative had come in the previous day to clean the machines. I got home with the machine and immediately noticed that there was only one filter inside and it was filthy. It had animal hair, lint clung to it and I could imagine it also had animal feces and urine along with whatever else the last person cleaned up. The machine turned on but wouldn't release any water and The suction was very weak. It bulged a little and the left over water spouted out on my sofa. I had to remove the filter and clean it. It was so disgusting. I eventually got the machine working after cleaning the filter and poking around with a screw driver, twisting the handle, powering it off and then on. As stated, the suction was very weak. I was frustrated and called the store to informed the manager, Jack, I believe.He was so cold and lacked any empathy. He said to bring it back and they would give my money back, no apologies not remorse. I took the machine back When it was due and I asked for the manager who promised me the refund. I also showed him a picture of the unsanitary animals hair and someone else's dirty mess I had to clean In order to use it. He then only refunded my deposit and told me that since I used it I was not entitled to the refund. I explained to him that it was not my responsibility to clean that nasty mess. It was not my fault that the machine was not working properly and I should not have to pay simply because of the great inconvenience. No response! read more
