Placed an online order for today's pick up only to discover their in store inventory was depleted and item was backordered. I was unable to wait for product and [Laurence] the sales specialist took the time to find another similar/better product, made an adjustment to my bill and helped me to avoid having to go elsewhere. We went there to get a few things, no need to travel to Bowie anymore ! I notice that they sold fobs ,Promptly a female associate asked if we needed help, she answered our questions and went to get Andrew who is more knowledgable on fobs ,Went home got my broken fob ,within minutes Andrew installed a new casing and cut my new fob for a fraction of the cost of one at the dealership ,Andrew was awsome! I bought a product that leaked, ruined my personal property which was not the consumers negligence. We all support-small businesses. I explained issue to staff... & manager clearly they agreed. As told by owner we unpack products no quality control for bottle caps, etc. consumer .... once you walk out the door we have no customer policy. Seriously????? I simply asked to made whole for a product that was defective & stained my shirt due to no store quality control. The staff agreed but above their minimum wage or authority... The manager came out... was very cordial empathized with the issue. Ohhhh no now the "shark" owner comes out...Melissa WadeI.... Never met-her before! I own Crofton Ace Hardware & Annapolis Ace store. The owner made unfounded, unverifiable, undocumented discriminatory personal attack on my character. The uncalled statements made by the owner was shocking and offensive. The defamatory statements allegations made by the owner were totally hurtful, insensitive & uncalled for. So this owner providing a service is the master & Consumers just sheep ..... this sounds like history of oppression. Why are customers treated unreasonably in front of other customers. They heard the attacking offensive words that were unprofessional and uncalled for. The owner doesn't know me ...yet made unverifiable insulting remarks with ,no basis in fact or proof. No reasonable discussion was an option with the owner... she right u wrong. This is the owner feeling defensive & unable to admit she was wrong. Guess this is age & LGBT, CHRO selective discrimination. The owner feels entitled. I am not making a conclusion towards the owner or her business. The reader can make their own inference. I'm stating only an opinion. I have nothing but positive experiences in Ace hardware corporation and franchise stores in many States. I for one will NEVER go to this business!!!! . Ill take my $$$$ somewhere else like Odenton ACE hardware that is inclusive of all people and respectful. I am not in any way stating don't go to this business, let your morals, ethical norms & conscious be your guide. It's unfortunate the owner is in my opinion flawed. The staff is excellent & accommodating. Buyer beware..... be careful where you decide to spend your $$$$.
