Stopped by this Ace post Black Friday to make use of a coupon sent out. The item was in stock and it was a hassle to make payment. Returned two days later to pick up a birthday gift. Found items in line and they were on sale. Pointed out the items were on sale. I walked back to the rear of the building and removed the sales tag. Also pulled up the price using their Ace Smart phone app. Lower price was on the tag and the app. I was told that I should not remove the shelf tag. The clerk had to call over a manager to override the price. Yes I was able to get it at the sales price. Neither the manager nor the clerk apologized for the inconvenience and hassle. I was not thanked for my business and see no reason to visit this store again. I have made purchases at Ace in Cartersville and never had a problem. This Ace has Unhelpful folks! read more

I've been shopping here for years. The staff is always extremely helpful and friendly. Great selection of products too.

Some may be content driving 12 minutes to their local big home improvement store. The rest of us will find everything to fix it after the much shorter commute to see those helpful hardware folks. Brookstone Ace has the specific and the random to help grab the thing you came in for, and the thing you didn't realize you couldn't live without. We've rarely had an unsuccessful trip here (maybe once to find a plant out of season but they still had seeds), so if you're trying to make sure you can get back to that fun fixit job, Ace will hook you up. Sadly for you, rarely can you use the "they were sold out" or "off by a half-inch" excuse to allow for more sports watching. And you won't spend that saved gas $$ on higher prices either, so all you piggy-bank worshippers get in line. You'll be a couple people behind me as I try to appease that latest spouse-whim checked off the home improvement list. Gotta hurry before the game starts. read more

Today I went on a search for firewood. DRY firewood. So I called several stores in our area and this store said they had pallets full. The gentleman I spoke to (Steve) was very pleasant and I asked him to check it and make sure it was indeed dry, before I headed that way. He put me on hold and came back and said, "Yes Ma'am, it's wrapped in plastic and covered. So it's dry." I also told him that I had shoulder surgery yesterday and would someone be available to help me load it? He said, "Sure! No problem! We can do that for you!" When I got there, I asked Steve AGAIN to please make sure it was dry, since we've had so much rain this week. He went and checked and assured me that it was dry. (And yes, the bags were stacked on a pallet with plastic wrap around it and it was sitting under their awning. But not far enough in, so that the rain wouldn't have gotten to it. Plus the plastic had been cut open, leaving the pallet wide open to the elements. But I trusted Steve to have a proper look at it. ‍ I got to the store and personally, could barely lift one bag, so Steve to the rescue! He loaded it up and off I went. I had to bring one bag in at a time and it dawned on me that dry wood, would not be as heavy as this was. I proceeded to cut open a bag to throw a log on and as soon as I cut the bag open, you could tell that the wood was soaked! I had to cut ALL the bags open because the fire I lit before leaving my house had almost died out but I had a good bed of coals still going. I left the two pieces of wood to burn, while I went back outside to cross-stack the rest of the wood and move it to our covered porch (at the front door) so it could possibly dry out. I then called the store to tell them I was unhappy and the girl that answered the phone (Lisa?) said, "Well, do you want to bring it back and we will give you a refund?" Seriously?????? So let me get this straight......you want me to load FIVE bags of wood (that had to be taken OUT of the bag in order to see how wet the logs were ) and you want me to load it up, piece by piece, with the use of only ONE ARM.....and return it?? Ummm.....that's a big fat NO! So I just wasted time, money and screwed up my shoulder again because you all didn't tell the truth when you said the wood was dry. The label also said it was kiln dried. Funny.....it still has green leaves attached to it! So not only was it wet....it was still green. *See photos. So much for me trying to enjoy a nice warm fire on a rainy day. Not to mention, my husband is a Master Carpenter and he's furious at me for bringing it up to our front porch. Thanks for that ACE Hardware at Brookstone. I owe ya! I also took two videos of me trying to get it to burn but I can't upload them. read more

Used to frequent this location often out of convenience but stopped when we recently encountered terrible customer service. Wanted to buy a Stihl pressure washer but they didn't have the right model in stock and the person who could place the order wasn't in that day so left my contact details. Never got a call. Stopped by again and asked for assistance in ordering the pressure washer, and again left my contact details, but never got a call. A couple weeks later we couldn't wait any longer so we saw that another Ace Hardware in the city had what we needed in stock. Went down and bought the pressure washer along with a few ancillary items (soap, nozzle head for driveways, ect) we thought we may need. After using it the first week we determined those other items weren't necessary and went to return them at our local store. They wouldn't return these unused, common items. Apparently, this is not Ace Hardware; rather, it's Bob's Ace Hardware and they told me in order to complete the return I had to go to the store where the purchase was made. This experience has turned me off of Ace Hardware altogether and will now only buy Stihl products from a mom-and-pop local establishment instead. read more

I just had an unpleasant customer experience with Kevin at this Ace location. What should have been a simple product swap AND honor loyal customer coupon, for same priced item was not. I at first was told I was trying to "double dip", after I politely explained his error, he got testy since he apparently did not like being shown basic logic. Ultimately I had to use another discount coupon that I luckily had with me. I'm about customer orientation, courtesy and professionalism non of which Kevin displayed. read more

I had an online order for a very large tool cabinet delivered to the Brookstone location. By no fault of this store, the tool cabinet was damaged when we got it home. We took it back to the Brookstone store and the store manager, Andrea Hitchcock, went above and beyond when handling the return and using a forklift to unload the tool cabinet from my vehicle. I recommend this Ace location and I highly recommend contacting Andrea if you encounter any issues. read more

This store has a habit of not having enough people working upfront. I just stood in line for five minutes while someone was on the phone at the front helping an online customer. There were two or three other employees running around in the back avoiding me at all costs. If they want us to shop on the with the local guys they need to start treating us better! read more

Went in and ordered a deadbolt lock for garage on 6/30. Was told it would arrive in 4 days. 7/21, 3wks later, I order same part off of AMAZON and got in two days. I was in a hurry because I was selling my house. 8/1 went in to get a refund and it was still not there, they were unable to tel me why my item which was to arrive in 4 days had not arrived 4 WEEKS later. read more

Short story, I took my Stihl chainsaw to Ace Hardware, (Brookstone, Kennesaw, GA) and I asked specifically for just the fuel line to be changed out as I had just replaced the carb, filter, and spark plug at home. I noticed the young man wrote "check fuel system" when I got to the cashier. I asked the cashier to write "replace fuel line only". He apparently didn't have the authority so he called the first guy to the counter. He gave me the old "It'll be ok, he'll know what to do". I go to pick up my saw today and they replaced the carburetor, fuel filter, spark plug, fixed a bent bar, which was operating fine hours before I brought it in. No phone call asking to authorize any extra work, just a $110 bill. This is a scam no different than putting things in my cart and making me pay for them! An appeal to the manager was no help, "the bill stands". Avoid this place. read more

I visited this store last weekend. Employees were very kind and helpful but I was disappointed that none of them wore masks. I asked one employee why none of the employees were wearing masks and this employee replied that "masks were not enforced". Mask wearing is critical to the health and safety of customers, employees, and the general public. read more

I've thought I was so lucky to live very near this store and have purchased a LOT of Ben Moore paint here, but finally decided to write this review (probably shouldn't since I'm irritated). They have never had the Ben Moore paint I needed and always have to order it from another store for pickup on another day. The M-F paint people are usually very knowledgeable, but the weekend paint people really need more training. Today I called ahead to make sure they still had the specific base paint I needed and when I was told yes I sent my husband to get it mixed. He got there and they didn't have it. They were less than enthusiastic when I asked if they could order it from the other store. I am going to start driving to Sandy Springs for my Ben Moore paint, I suppose. Sorry I can't just go down the block for reliable service, I'm afraid they lost me after today. read more

Checked on-line for an item I wanted for Christmas which showed delivery Dec 24th. I called store to confirm this was possible, associate said a truck was scheduled on the 24th and she would be there until 2pm. At 12 pm tried to pick-up, same associate said manager didn't order item so it wasn't shipped. I cancelled the order out of principle. Due to time constraints I had to do it by phone and not in person. This was on January 7 at 0920. I asked to speak to the manager, who according to the same associate of all the other interactions, was "busy with a customer". She asked if he could call back and of course I said yes. It is 3 hours later, no call. I love the idea of local stores that focus on personal service, but unfortunately this doesn't appear to be one. Two stars because they had the product available at a competative price. read more

This would be a five star review accept that every time we go in as ask for assistants from Tristan she has an attitude and is not very helpful. We come often and have interacted with other employs and been great. It's nice having a hardware store near by and there hasn't been many things we have needed that we couldn't find. read more

I am SO disappointed on how poorly I was treated today. And will probably take the extra drive to go to an ace hardware where I'm treated BETTER! I went in for some supplies (MANY may I add) while I was there I asked about the paint decks y'all carry and asked if I could take one home with me as I had a client who needed help deciding colors for her cabinets. The younger gentleman didn't know exactly and I informed him that I've done it before. I leave my information at the desk and bring I'll bring it back tomorrow.. LIKE I HAVE ALWAYS DONE. While we are talking an older man walks up and says what's the issue. I had just explained to him the same thing. If I'm allowed to take a large wheel of colors.. he tells me it'll be $30!!!! Then winks at the younger man. I'm now shocked by the fact that they want to CHARGE me AND for the fact that he winks thinking I wouldn't catch it.. I explain to him $30? He goes yes. And walks away proceeding to talk about me thinking I can't hear him. Letting the younger man know this is how you need to do thinks and then I get laughed at by BOTH EMPLOYEES!!!!
