If I could give zero stars I would. I walked into Pro Stitch a few weeks ago after a recommendation from a friend and trust that a place in a busy mall was good and safe place to go for my simple but important alterations. I brought in a bridesmaid dress for an upcoming wedding and without even a hello she asked what I needed. The edges of the dress is ruffled and the bride wanted them clean so told her I needed the edges cleaned up and she said "well what do you want me to do about it" this is the moment I had a bad feeling - I wish I listened to it!!! She then went in to tell me that's to do that would be an awful and tedious task and it would cost me a lot...so I said never mind. Thinking my next requests were easy I decided I might as well just get them done. I told her that I needed the bust area taken in a bit and she pinned me in the right spot. I also needed my straps reinforced as the dress is heavy and read a few reviews that said they had broken a few times. I left feeling uneasy but the wedding is in only a few days so I needed it done. I returned a week later and was so so disappointed and sad with the product she returned to me. I tried it on and saw barely a difference - I told her that and she said "that's just your opinion" ........she pinned it correctly, and then sewed it wrong. The worst of all though was the reinforced straps. They just ran the straps under the sewing machine a few times....IN A DIFFERENT COLOUR THREAD. The line is crooked, the thread is fraying - the pics are of the FRONT of the dress. They didn't even trim the loose thread down. It's just awful. This is a bridesmaid dress, she knew that. It's going to be photographed and it looks horrible. Needless to say I was seriously upset and she offered $5 off.....that's it. Rude woman and a really awful job. Don't go here. read more

I've been to this place probably 4 times. The first two times everything worked out okay. I got my pants done and left content. Though she was never friendly. Then I went in another time asking her to do something to a pair of pants that wasn't as simple as "cut and stitch," and she told me it was "impossible." It couldn't be done! I kind of gave her a look because I was looking at it and if I were decent with a sewing machine, I think even I could have done it. Granted, it wouldn't have looked perfect, but that's because I don't sew. When she saw my look, she told me nobody would do it. So I left. I took it just up the street to another person, told her what I wanted, and no problem. She didn't even bat an eye. They were done the next day just the way I wanted them. So I dismissed her previous inability to meet my request, and chalked it up to her being a one trick pony (basic hems only). I went back to her again simply because the location was convenient. We measured my pants. I saw where they were hanging and when I brought them home the next day, they were a good 2 inches too short. No material left to even let them out some. $150.00 pair of jeans ruined before I even got to wear them! A few months pass and I find myself there with another pair of jeans. I just didn't have time to go somewhere else and I thought maybe it was just a freak accident. I mean the first 2 times were fine. And sure enough.... she does it again!! Needless to say, I've never once gone back and never will again. I'd be better off reverting back to the 80's and pegging my pants! I warn against going here. I've had 2 friends that have had the exact same thing happen. To be clear, both of the times it happened, it was when I was having her keep the original hem. The 2 times she didn't mess my pants up, they were dress pants. Perhaps she less than a 1 trick pony, because keeping an original hem apparently isn't a strength either. read more

I have heard bad reviews about this place before. Never the less we went there today to get a dress for my daughter hemmed. They wanted to charge $75!!!!! My daughter said no it was to expensive and the woman wripped the pins out of the dress and snagged the chiffon and then denied doing it. We took the dress to the place in Park Royal and the ladies were very friendly and only charged $30. I would advise people stay away from this place. They are rude and are clearly the pricing model is outrages! read more

Worst customer service ever! I went in with several tops and pants that I needed altered, and the clerk immediately started saying "can't do it" for everything I tried on. The work I needed done was a bit fiddly, but not rocket science either - I sew enough myself (and have had enough clothes altered) to know that what I was asking was very doable, I just didn't have time to do it myself. After the 3rd "can't", I lost patience and decided to take everything somewhere else, where they did a wonderful job and never suggested the work I was asking for was too hard - if you're looking for an alternative to this store, "Stitch It" is relatively close by at Park Royal and I've never had an issue with them (other than they're sometimes too busy to get it done quickly). All I can figure is that the employees at this store don't want the work unless it's quick and easy for them. Though based on the other review I've seen here, it looks like I'm lucky that they didn't take my clothes to alter, as you never know what I would have gotten back... read more
