The guy that came was very nice, but his initial assessment was that the water was coming from the other side of the wall and he wanted to see what was back there. I knew this was impossible since there are no pipes in that office, so I thanked him for his time we had a nice chat on his way out. A few weeks later, the water softener died and poured water all over and back under the wall again. This was the culprit and my take on the plumber's inspection was correct. Some weeks later, the accountant from the company called and insisted on payment. I was very annoyed because absolutely no value was added during the visit. I did pay the balance because I understand that receiving a professional to your home on a service call does have an accepted base-rate or fee. I explained to the accountant however that this was bad form and would guarantee that I'd never be interested in calling again. I too work in the service industry as an onsite IT person (since '97) and I know full well when I've made a visit that shouldn't be billed. And my rates and relevance are exactly the same. I'm writing this both to make sure the marketing team over there have a talk with the accountant, and to point out to the owner of Quick Fix that I spent $18,000 on the replacement boiler and water heater. Pissing off customers over $75 really can be expensive.

Unprofessional, unreliable and had to hire a different plumber to not only fix this company's work,…read morebut to also finish the job correctly. I hired McCoy Plumbing for a high-end basement remodel. They did a decent job on all the rough plumbing - moving water heater, moving gas lines, putting in the piping for my bar sink, bathroom sink and shower. Then came time to finish the job and install my fixtures. I came home from work excited to finally see my completely finished basement, only to find that instead of the high-end fixtures there were some cheap, apartment-grade faucets installed, and no shower whatsoever. Turns out that the owner never even ordered the fixtures and just tried to install some cheap crap without even saying anything about it. He then got very upset when we demanded that he order and install the correct fixtures. This was supposed to delay the finishing of our basement by 4-6 weeks, however as that time drew nearer he became very unresponsive. There was a complete gap in communication for over a month beyond that 4-6 weeks with some ignored messages in between. In the end I ordered the parts myself and in doing so found out that he had installed the incorrect valves in my walls - which at this point had already been closed up. I ended up having to hire a new plumber to open up my walls, install the correct valves, and properly finish the job. I would not recommend this guy to anyone. I can't believe that he purposely installed the incorrect valves in my wall without telling me, installed cheap faucets without informing me and then had the audacity to get angry with me when confronted about it. Just an awful experience all around. Delayed my finished basement by over 3 months.

We recently moved into a house and this was our first time hiring a plumber. That being said, it…read morewas daunting to decide who we wanted to go with. Jay from Norman's Home Improvements made the decision easier for us, as he was thoughtful and willing to discuss our possible plumbing issues right away, before even booking an appointment. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Norman's to anyone who was looking for assistance. Our experience was a good one, and our issue was resolved with one visit. The total cost was especially reasonable, and we feel we learned a lot in the process - it is always a great thing when someone is willing to explain things to you and answer questions, versus just completing the job. I reached out to numerous plumbers and companies, but Jay's response stood out right away. While most people were happy to give me a (fairly high) ballpark quote which left me wondering if I would be taken advantage of for my lack of plumbing knowledge, Jay was happy to discuss the possibilities of why our kitchen sink had stopped working for no apparent reason ahead of time, before even booking an appointment. He was able to come take a look at our sink just a couple of days later, on a Friday evening. He spent some time discussing the plumbing of our house with us in general, which was extremely helpful as we only moved a few weeks ago. He was happy to answer questions and make sure we understood things, which we really appreciated. He was professional and explained the cost ahead of time after diagnosing the issue and prior to completing additional work beyond the base service fee for the visit. Norman's Home Improvements was a good first experience for us, and I would gladly hire them in the future for additional work. In addition to plumbing, they also do work on electrical, HVAC, and carpentry. We would highly recommend Norman's and we especially appreciated the willingness to not only perform the work but explain the process to us as well.
