The plumber from Scheid showed up at the scheduled time, provided an estimate, and scheduled the work while at my house. He showed up on the date and time scheduled and immediately went to work. The job was completed on time and below the estimate. The pipe work was clean and professional. He replaced the old cast from the basement through the roof, replaced the roof vent cap, and connected rough in drains to keep my remodel project on track. He did a water test and then wrote up several quotes that started at over $6K and exceeded $10K on the high side. I explained (and he saw) that the house was already plumbed with a working bypass and drain line. I also told him that their quotes were much higher than all the research I had done on replacement units. He told me they were " a bit more because they are a 'larger company' ". He also charged me the standard $100 service fee - So I essentially paid them for a "sales" call! I ordered a 48K grain system with 10% cross-linked resin and a Fleck 5600 control head for $750.00 from an online plumbing supply store with great reviews. I then ordered about $50 worth of water lines and a few PVC fittings. In 30 minutes it was hooked up and working perfectly. I am all for buying local. But I cannot comprehend what Lasco could put in their resin or what type of controller upgrade they can offer that justifies a price $5,000 more than I was able to obtain. There would be, at most, one or two hours of time needed for installation. I would encourage anyone needing a water softener to check around before agreeing to pay such an outrageous amount from Lasco. It upsets me when I imagine my parents or other vulnerable people believing these guys and agreeing to these crazy prices.

Plastic was to be layed in the basement where they were working and ended up tracking oil all over the floor. Some kind of grease or oil was spilled in the driveway. I contacted them two days after the work. It took a while for them to get back with me. The dispatch team was too busy or they would set up an appt, not show, and sometimes reschedule. I had to keep calling and making a longer story short they finally came out two months later. They cleaned the spots with cleaner that didn't work so I bought something to try myself. I worked at it and got about half the stain off but still bad. The stain was baked in by the sun by this time. It was on them to clean. I'm 73 female and this is ridiculous. Their customer service has a lot of room for improvement!

They at least offered to reschedule for a later day in the week -BUT- with little regard for the fact that I took time away from my busy schedule to have a set appointment. Needless to say that I won't be using their services (nor recommending them). Don't get stuck like me, take a day off of work to accommodate, and have them cancel last minute!

They added a pressure relief tank and turn the heat down on the tank. They even cleaned up the mess they didn't make! These guys were so fast and professional. It was around $850 to fix an issue that probably would have cost us thousands had they not fixed it.

I repeated explained that I do not have neighbors above or below me. My electric central AC and heating system is located in a utility room on the 2nd floor of my three story unit. The USPS insists on putting Apt 107 instead of unit 107. My address was provided to you on Monday, but nobody was concerned about my apartment like home until 15 minutes before my appointment. I do not live in an apartment like condo. My condo building is three stories high and I live in a townhouse styled condo that is three stories and an end unit. My AC compressor that is located on the roof is easily accessible to tenants and service technicians. The lack of knowledge by the woman that called to cancel, her supervisor and the technician is an internal problem and not something a conversation with me will solve. If I ran Vredevoogd I would be looking for three new qualified employees. Your employee seem to lack knowledge on very basic information about electric central AC and heating systems and AC compressor located on the roof instead of being ground level. I was without AC for three days. Thank God another company fit me in that same afternoon. They diagnosed and fixed the problem in 45 minutes. Three days without AC in 90 plus temperatures and it could have been many more because Vredevoogd canceled 15 minutes before my appointment.
