We learned after the work was done that he didn't take credit cards because (you guessed it) the "modern way that things get paid are a big bother." Hey Steve, it's time to hang up the spurs. That said, the windshield was replaced perfectly, no problems resulted from his reticence to conform to modern reality, but he didn't inspire confidence and probably won't as time goes on and Steve gets older.

I brought my car into Steve's for a small fender bender, insurance company was paying for repairs. From the start his communications were slow to the insurance company, I had to call him remind him to submit the estimate over a week after I had brought may car to the shop for the estimate. Then he informed me the insurance had not covered a part that was need and that I need to bring my car back so they could get pictures to resubmit to insurance. He then scheduled my appointment for three weeks away and told me the parts would be in the shop when I brought my car back to be repaired. Three weeks go by, I dropped off my car and a few hours later he called me to inform me that he had not paid attention to the approved estimate and that the insurance company did not cover the full bumper, he refused to paint half the bumper and said if I wanted the job completed I would have to pay over $200 out of my pocket do the job. I was obviously surprised by this. I dropped off my car with the expectation that it would be fixed in three days and that the insurance was covering the cost. He got upset at me over the phone and told me that he wouldn't do the work for free and that I could come pick up my damn car or give him more money to complete the job. So I picked up my car. I will find another shop. I talked to the insurance adjuster and I was informed that all he had to do was resubmit the estimate telling them that the bumper DID need replaced and they would cover the cost but instead he insisted that I pay the difference because he hadn't done his job properly. Its absolutely absurd that he expected me to pay for his incompetence. He was rude to on the phone and in person. I do not recommend this body shop.

Since then, my wife has taken in her Toyota, sienna and Subaru Legacy, and I have taken in my Ford Mustang and he and his staff have been nothing less than complete. Often, I will get a call when there is something else unbuttoned or crooked on the vehicle, and Jason will have taken care of it. I took it to Lake View auto body. It needed a new hatchback (the old one was completely trashed), and the only way to prevent the car from being totalled (I didn't want that) was to find a used replacement. Jason took care of everything. The car seems like new now, absolutely beautiful. You wouldn't know anything had happened. They even drove me back home after I brought it in. They dealt with the insurance company and made everything super simple for me. This is my second review and the second time I've come out of the experience thinking they are absolutely amazing. I couldn't recommend them more highly. The only sad bit for all of us, the doorbell camera did not trigger as the log flew off the cliff. We are deprived of an epic video. :(
