After locking myself out of my new home, I left messages with a couple locksmiths before reaching John, who was the only one to answer in person. He committed to coming after he finished his prior job. In the meantime, one of the previous folks I'd left a message for called and since he was closer, I canceled with John, who was very cordial about it. The locksmith who came couldn't get into my house after 90 minutes! I then called John, who graciously came back out though he had already left the area - and got me in within 5 minutes. I had a front door deadbolt go bad after 23 years. I called a competitor and they made me feel like an idiot for calling. John walked me thru my options and I choose buying a new lock instead of reconditioning my old one. (A new lock can be adjusted so your old keys work if same manufacture). After picking up the lock, I called John back , he remember who I was and said he could be over in 30 mins. John spent more time on fixing what was wrong with the first installation and made sure the new lock works like butter. We just bought a new home and wanted the locks changed for my peace of mind. I called Access Lock & Key and John, the owner, answered. (Not an answering service +). I asked him what the cost was and he stated the service charge and the per cylinder rate over the phone (++). I asked him when I could get on the schedule and he was able to come with in 30 minutes! (Unheard of +++). He was in my home a total of 20 minutes to change the locks. I felt safe with him here and I would highly recommend him. Just needed a pretty simple re-key of my new townhome, but in my call to ask questions, John provided more information than any other locksmith I had called (it's the number of cylinders, not the number of doors). My front door would not unlock. I removed the doorknob, and the latch would not retract from the door jamb. The latch was broken. (Good thing we had another way out of the house!) I called Access Lock & Key, and he was at my door in less than 30 minutes. In seven minutes, the broken latch was removed and the door was opened. He installed a new latch and put the doorknob back on, and everything was once again fully functional. From the time I called until he drove out was less than an hour. My key to my house stopped working, so I thought I would have to have my locks rekeyed and it would cost a lot. I was really happy when John scheduled his visit so quickly. All I can say is omg! I called John this morning because the back door of our salon was broken and he said he could come by at 2:00 this afternoon. He was right on time!!! John was incredibly friendly and when I tried paying him a tip for his services he wouldn't accept it! Most of the "big" businesses cost around $120 to get you back into a locked car.
