Once the contract was signed, they indicated 2-3 weeks to begin, and that was accurate. Supply delivery began about five days prior to commencing work. The pavers have clean, straight lines, our garden area was laid out perfectly, and the artificial turf looks great (our dogs have already put it to the test and it has held up wonderfully). We discussed a turf area for our dog, boulders, brick patio, and xeriscaping. A week later I realized I didn't want pokey, spikey, pain-inducing plants in the yard my dog and grandchildren would be playing in. Pat graciously updated our design to include a second sitting area for a fire table and replaced the xeriscaping with a raised area that includes a desert willow, rosemary, sage, and lavender. The day before the project the materials were delivered, the day of the project a team of apparent experts showed up and finished everything except the pergola before the end of the day. It was amazing. They were fast, friendly, and left everything better than they found it, including the side and front yard! Yes, they used the extra materials to cover the shallow graveled areas of my front and side yard, and leveled them out. They swept the dust from the road and driveway, watered everything and left. The cement work was awful but they did pay me compensation to get it fixed because they did not want to stand by their work and fix it. About 2 months later the gate opener failed. After inspection by an honest reputable installer they noted it failed because of the gate installation was bad and poorly built. The bottom of the gate rubs on the track. The rollers are permanently installed and cant be replaced and not adjusted. As it rolls back the gate looks warped since the clearance ranges from 1 inch to zero in multiple places. Paid 28k. Now Lynn and Jaun who by the way wont communicate to me as the owner and makes Lynn do it, is refusing to fix since he already paid money for the concrete. He says I never told him the gate was bad before. I had no idea until it failed to know. They wont take any responsibility to fix. Very dishonest and poor customer service. UPDATE TO OWNER RESPONCE Rather than addressing the specific workmanship concern I raised, your response attempts to discredit me by bringing my personal relationship and my spouse's former employment into the discussion. That is completely unrelated to the condition of the work performed at my property. Using personal circumstances to respond to a legitimate customer complaint is inappropriate, unprofessional, and distracts from the actual workmanship issue that needs to be addressed. The issue I am raising concerns a separate defect with the gate that was not part of the earlier concerns that were discussed and resolved. At the time of the prior resolution, I was not aware that there was an installation issue with the gate or that its installation could cause problems. The gate subsequently became an issue when a gate technician inspected it and identified an installation problem affecting the gate and opener. I am not interested in debating personal relationships or circumstances publicly. I am simply asking that the contractor address the workmanship issue associated with the work performed at my property. Rather than addressing the workmanship concern, your response has shifted the discussion toward personal circumstances that are unrelated to the condition of the work.
