From the in-home estimation (Terry from Mayflower) to the driver and loaders (Skip and Larry from United Van Lines) , our move went smoothly and stress free. They took time to lay down floor protection in our home, answered all our questions, and provided us with a sense of value. The first company we contacted could not meet our pick up/delivery times and the second company wanted us to do a non-binding contract with open ended charges. AC White checked off all our requirements. Based on other estimates, our move was in the high end of the spectrum but (1) nothing was broken (2) we didn't have any pick up/delivery delays and (3) we feel that we got what we paid. If I had more time to get more than 3 quotes, I may have found a cheaper company but don't know if I would have felt as satisfied with the high value of service that we received. We have had four corporate moves across the country. This was our fifth move and without question the worst experience possible. Many of the unhappy reviews echo our experience,from the packing to the unloading. Lost items, two men to unload,one had to leave half way through,a total nightmare. Claims on lost items,some were identified by the truck driver not compensated. The company asked if i wanted to go through arbitration,what a joke. I have moved 10 times since I left Undergrad....27 years ago. I have had a good....ok and bad moves. This move was exceptional!! We moved less than a week ago and I have already shared my experience with 3 other people who are about to move. The crew was outstanding and they worked!!!! There was nothing broken or damaged out of 8000 square feet of furniture/items. They were polite....effective....and really made this a stress free experience. The cost was solid and the customer service from Terri was amazing during and after the move. I would recommend this company HIGHLY to anyone who is moving soon. I hired AC White to move my father out of Roswell This entire team performed spectacularly. Working with Tara and John initially on coordinating the quote and move. Everything went like clockwork. There were zero surprises. No extra fees tacked on at the end of the move, very competitive on price. The packing job was spectacular, zero damage and they frankly just made it easy. Don't buy into the marketing. United has better groups than AC White. What does it matter if the same family owners it for years when the current generation don't do the right things, founder must be turning over in his greave. The leadership is weak and unwilling to get involved and does not care about your satisfaction, only cashing the check. Staff will talk behind your back (and send emails saying bad things but not smart enough to take you off the cc line). Some good packers and drivers but did not prevent damage, losses and major frustration. They talk out of both sides of their mouth but you are the one holding the bag. Paid more thinking I was getting the better company, stop now and call someone else - they are not worth any price. read more

Don't do business with this company unless you want to have a horrible move experience. They handled a cross country move for us and lead us to believe everything was handled and included in our original estimate. When we got to the destination they made us pay an additional $1,200 and didn't even complete the work we paid for originally. Horrible experience all around. read more

This was my 3rd cross-country move and, by far, the worst - solely attributable to the moving company, A.C. White. It took them 30 days from pickup to delivery for my move from Atlanta to California. This was a full two weeks later than their guaranteed delivery date. Beyond the obnoxiously late delivery, here are just a few highlights of their horrible service: 1) They sent 2 movers to load our 4 bedroom, 3 story house. Obviously frustrated, the movers (nice enough guys in their interaction with us) began arguing loudly between our garage and the truck at the bottom of our driveway about who was doing more work. About midway through, they received a call indicating that a 3rd mover would be arriving shortly to help them. He never showed. Naturally, it took the poor guys all day (from 10:00-5:00) to load the truck. It got to the point where I pitched in and began hauling boxes out of the garage to the truck just to get the loading completed. 2) After our delivery date came and went, NO ONE at A.C. White had ANY IDEA where our shipment was. Our guaranteed delivery date was August 7 and, when our belongings hadn't arrived, no one at A.C. White knew where they were. Turns out, even though the shipment was supposed to leave Atlanta on July 24, our belongings remained in a warehouse in Atlanta until August 11 and didn't arrive in California until August 21. Again, NO ONE at A.C. White seemed to be aware of this, or the slightest bit concerned. In fact, at one point, our move coordinator told me that our belongings were on their way when a driver hadn't even been scheduled to pick them up. Had I not continuously called to inquire about our belongings, I'm fairly confident our things would still be in Atlanta and A.C. White's team would have been none the wiser. 3) Their communication was consistently terrible. They were great out of the gate getting back to me to secure my business, and afterwards I was pretty much forgotten. On at least 5 occasions, my move coordinator promised that he or someone from his office would contact me on a particular date about our belongings whereabouts only to have that day come and go with no call or email. I should also note that Mayflower was no gem in this category either. It took them a full 10 days to get back to me after I contacted customer service to help track down my late shipment. Here's an excerpt from an email I sent in complete frustration with our move coordinator's failure to get back to me, yet again: "Dear xxxxx. Thanks for not calling today. You and your company have been a colossal disappointment and I deeply regret you talking me out of going with one of your competitors. Aside from picking our belongings up on the 21st (for an additional charge which, at this stage, I expect to be refunded) [it wasn't], you haven't delivered on a single thing promised." There is certainly more that I could highlight, and I'm glad that I retained all correspondence in the event that any of this is disputed by A.C. White. After all was said and done, I didn't receive as much as an apology from them for their mishandling of the move. They didn't even contact me to see if all had been delivered. I contacted AC White movers to give us a quote for a move. He came to our home and storage facility to write up an estimate. We were due to move in about 10 days, which he said was no problem. I also contacted two other moving companies for estimates. I believe we met with someone named Tom. Saturday, After he viewed all of our items to move he told me he would have an estimate the next day. The next day came and went and on Wednesday, 6 days before our move, I texted him for the quote. He didn't respond. On Friday, I texted him again and saw that he started responding, but clearly cancelled his text. So, now I know he is getting the texts. An hour later I decide to text him that I will post on social media regarding his unresponsiveness and lo and behold, he responds. It is now 4 days before our move. He said he hadn't had time to put our quote together but would do so within the next several hours. Meanwhile, the other two moving companies had given me quotes by the previous Monday. After realizing he had been receiving my texts and just chose not to respond, nor send a quote, and it wasn't until I mentioned leaving poor feedback, I decided to tell him forget it. If you can't have the courtesy to provide a quote timely, why would I think this company would provide a good move? If this unprofessional behavior is accepted by a company, one only knows how the move would have gone for uncaring people working for an uncaring company. We ended up going with Bulldog movers who were priced right, timely, professional and kept constant communication going from the very beginning. read more

I have used moving companies in the past and I can honestly say that this company has been the absolute worst. For example, the movers packing in Johns Creek, GA ran out of packing paper, left behind a lamp and other items, improperly packed dishes without packing paper, etc. One member of the moving crew told my wife that she needed to get a packing box from home depot. My wife spent almost an hour getting this item, but then another member of the moving crew told her that this item was not needed. Once the furniture arrived at Fairfax, VA, there were only 2 movers. To make sure our property was unloaded on that day, my wife and I had to work alongside the movers. In fact, the 2 movers told me that they could not have moved the piano into the house without my help. Quite frankly, I hurt my knee and arm due to the physical strains of moving. I could not believe that I spent thousands of dollars for this poor service and having to do much of the move myself. read more

Overall, I had a good experience. The packers were efficient and professional and the men that delivered were quite good. I had some minor damage to four items and haven't filed a claim yet but am confident it will be handled well. The agent was great. Explained everything is simple easy terms. Answered all our question and the times he promised worked out perfectly. The company kept us appraised of the mover and his arrival times at both ends. Packers we friendly, took care of our possessions and worked quickly. Left no mess. Made the mistake of using AC White for a December 2017 move. Terrible customer service and management. Terry came to our house weeks before the move to estimate the truck size required to move contents of my 3,200 sq. ft. home. All was there for him to see. On moving day, it became apparent that the truck was not close to big enough to fit everything. The company did nothing to fix the problem. I had to take the initiative to pick up a 10 foot truck at U-Haul and bring back to the house. Only after arguing with the movers did they agree to load the U-Haul and finish the job - they were about to leave! My house was scheduled to close the next morning, so if I had not been able to rent a U-Haul truck, the sale would not have closed. And the next day when moving to the new house, the movers had a terrible attitude (after they had been given $60 to go buy lunch). When I asked for reimbursement for the time and expense required to rent the U-Haul truck, they shorted me $8. I paid $148 for the rental and additional boxes, and U-Haul credited my account for $8 for partial return of boxes. AC White sent me a check for $132. Really?! They couldn't even refund me the full amount! If it were not for my in-laws there to help my wife and me and our 6 month old baby, this move never would have happened, even though I paid AC White over $2,300 for the move. This was the worst moving experience my wife and I have ever had - it would be difficult to imagine how AC White could have done a worse job of managing this move. Do not use this company - there are others out there that must be better! Terry and his management team are the worst - they do not do what they say they'll do. For instance, they said there would be 4 movers, but only 3 showed up. I'm going to complain to BBB, and every other online review site I can find so that others do not make the same mistake I did, because it almost cost me the closing of my house. read more
