I was taken! In 2020 my late mother purchased a new HVAC system from AC Warehouse = Comfortmaker PHM4. She passed a few years ago and I moved into the home. I was thinking great! New AC should last for years if not decades. Fast forward to a month ago when the AC she bought and I literally just paid off the loan takes a major crap. I call AC warehouse for a look. I'm told that so many parts went bad it would be better to get a new unit. Apparently mom's unit only had a 5 year warranty and it was now 5 years 6 months old. UGH!!! Really after only 5 years? I was told my mother bought a really cheap unit and they don't last very long. I was then suggested and convinced to replace the entire unit to the tune of $8700.00 wow. The install was great (why 2 stars), however when it was all said and done and I go out to look at the work AC Warehouse did....I'M STUNNED TO SEE THEY SOLD ME THE SAME UNIT THAT JUST DIED AFTER 5 YEARS. Requested routine maintenance and fix non-working thermostats. I was told I needed two new thermostats which they wanted to sell to me. I played with the thermostats and all they needed was to be reprogramed which they never attempted. They sold me a UV light which I didn't need because I already had one working well. We have an annual maintenance contract with AC Warehouse, and are SO happy with them and their prompt and quality service! It wasn't the usual "wham-bam we're done see you in a year" service. Patrick did a thorough cleaning of the entire unit - complete with many supporting photos in the Service Checklist we received upon completion of his work. For the most part, the only photo I had a clue about was the dirty-to-clean air filter that was changed. (Yes, it was time, and I had the replacement ready to go - but the photo evidenced just how important changing the filter regularly is.) I have no clue what all Patrick did - but his super documentation was detailed and informative. read more

I was a former customer since 2002. Within the last 10 years the tech turned into salesmen. They constantly wanted to sell new AC units rather than do a repair. Even after Hurricane Milton the tech tried to sell us two new units while I was need of a new roof. The last visit March 25 the tech said one of the AC unit had a leak. He refused to charge the unit to see if there was truly a leak. I did not believe him, because I had a funny feeling that something shady was occurring. I got a 2n d opinion from Anthony's AC service. The tech asked me to follow him because he wanted walk me through the inspection. Long story short, the tech from Anthony charged the unit that suppose to leaking. Guess what no leak. read more

Took four times before my new AC was installed correctly. They were auppose to install new Google thermostat. Installwr disn't know how, sent someone else and was told need to run a new wire from unit to thermostat. Wanted $500 to run approx 15 feet of wire. Outside unit wasn't properly secured to hurricane code, sent someone else, used my landscape bricks to prop up platform. Called again, sent someone else to fix the first hacks job, finally fixed. Our old AC starting leaking water from the coils and needed to be replaced. AC Warehouse got a tech (Garth) out the next day to look at the unit and give a competitive quote for the replacement. A few days after signing the proposal I received the same day as the service call, my family and I have a brand new unit installed and running great so far. The installation techs (Spencer and Dialo) were knowledgeable and efficient. They patiently answered any questions I had while also dealing with the obstacles of installing the unit on an older home. Those two went above and beyond and are certainly worthy of a shout-out. This was my first experience with AC removal/installation and with AC Warehouse but will definitely be hard-pressed to use any other company for servicing and/or our next replacement. read more

I am currently on my second unit from AC Warehouse. I was not able to schedule annual maintainence because of their schedule. When I did I was told my service contract had expired but they would honor it. The service man checked the system and changed the filter for me. After an hour he told me there was a leak. I authorized a condensor replacement. The system never had a problem until then. He then tried to sell me a new UV light, even though I had purchased one this year. He told me the newer ones were better. He then told me there as a build up of mold. When I told him 'no upgrade' he said the current UV light should control it. He said I needed a 'leak search' and then offered me a quote of 1,600.00 for the needed work. I refused it. That night, for the first time, the system could not maintain the temperature and I sweltered through the week as it got worse each day. Also, the thermostat began to malfunction. A neighbor suggested another company, which I hired. Their quote was $ 750 plus any needed coolant. I feel the AC Warehouse man was interested in sales. I question why my well maintained system worked flawlessly up until that service call. read more

It started with the first technician showing up with "30 years experience " and an argumentative receptionist when I called to confirm what was being done . . "30 year experience " guy didn't know what he was talking about because a week later they decided they didn't want to do the recommended work ($1,000.00) and would only replace the entire unit. , ($8,000.00) , ignorance or bait and switch ??? I called another company. They said everything was fine, just needed a really good cleaning. I will however confirm they refunded ALL my money without a fight. I would encourage you to not go with this company. They lie to put it bluntly. They came to fix my AC and said my compressor was not working. It was 8.5 years old and under warranty- I bought the AC from them. Even under warranty they wanted $3500 to fix it and told me I needed a new AC. I had a different AC company come the next day and the compressor was fine, I did not need a new AC. I have so many examples but simply am not up to it. Look elsewhere, anywhere else. Well to start i got a price to replace my old unit and the price was fair after the first year never had any problems everything was good .the second year small things started happening nothing major just minor it was replaced i paid extra for the service labor warranty the 3 year i get a clogged drain in Aug i call the emergency line they say they will contact the tech and they will get back to you 2 hours go by no call i call again no call no show.i called at 9 am the next day they said they have no idea why no one came out so later that day they send out a tech that explained my drain was clogged and said they needed 280$ to unclog it i said no don't touch it they forged some crazy signature that me or my wife never sign like and sent me a bill for 89$ i refused to pay because i sat all night with no air and they couldn't call.Now here is the best part they have no clue to what is gong on i saw a add on Facebook for a 59$ maintenance service i click on the add give my info they have called me 2 times wanting to know when would be a good time to schedule a tech to install a new unit i explained to them i was already a customer and i didn't need a new unit they had no idea who i was or that i was already under a service agreement they have no clue as to what is going on last week i got a text from them again asking when i wanted to schedule a time for a new unit again this time i replied your company has no idea of what they are doing and i'm very sorry i picked you to do my service they are the worst company ever if i had a choice i would never use them again every time a part goes i have to pay them 120$ to come fix what is under a 10 year parts warranty and a 10 year service labor warranty i would never use them to get a new unit they are not as well as they want to be .i had a leak in the coils they charged me 485$ a sniffer machine to find the i could of bought the machine for that i used to do ac work and it was never like this. read more

Two guys show up. Was there for 1 1/2 hours. One guy never got out of the truck. Unit was installed by them 5 years ago. Paid extra 1600 for extended warranty. They also did the maintenance every 6 month. Our coil that has already been replaced twice needs it again not covered, unit full of mold not covered, all of a sudden the duct work is too small also not covered. They guy that did get out of the truck told us repeatedly how long he's been doing this. All about his job yesterday. His last employers. All while trying to get a big sale of a new unit with duct work. Sent him away. They have been ripping us off for 4 years. If they did all this maintenance we paid for how the he!! They installed a new central air conditioner in my home ! It's be a nightmare! First they removed the old furnace! They never closed the roof penetration ! So with all the rain yes my roof leaked ! 4 times it took to fix??? The also used spray adhesive on sealing the ducts and roof ! They taped the strips to the exterior of my house! While spraying!!! Now I need the back of my house repainted! My house was just completely remodeled and painted inside and outside in February 2022 !!!! VERY UNQUALIFIED INSTALLERS !!! NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! Then they damaged my kitchen floor while removing the furnace! Now since April 26, 2022 they have been out 4 times and the only thing that is repaired is the roof leak! The problem was with a technician who was doing standard maintenance on a 6 year old unit saying the condenser was bad and he just so had a complete unit that we could purchase for $6K. Brought in a different company, nothing was wrong with unit, new company pointed out issues that AC Warehouse did incorrectly. Not good business practice. Do not use, unethical and essentially crooks. I recently moved to Bradenton, very near the AC Warehouse on 64. Being a part time resident, I thought it would be a good idea to have a service plan and someone to call if my AC failed while I was away. I signed up for their 200 service plan. On the first visit, a polite technician arrived, did his thing and told me my system was 1.5 pounds low on coolant. At first he said he had to charge me (coolant is $$$), but reversed and said my plan included 2 pounds free per year so I was covered. He said he filled it and we would monitor it. I left for the summer, kept my thermostat on 79 (monitored by Nest) and everything was smooth all summer. When I returned in the fall, all was well, and I had to call to get my second visit scheduled. Given there might be a leak, I wanted it looked at. A second technician arrived in January. I was busy on calls for work, so didnt get a chance to watch him. After about 45 mins of him doing things, he comes into my office, says I have big problems and need my unit replaced. He said I was down 4-5 pounds and clearly I had a leak They could fix it, but my unit was old (7 years old) but I would be better buying new. He then literally grabs a dirty note pad, scribbles out an estimate for full new system,(like he was writing a pizza takeout order) and asks me to sign. Plus he said he filled my unit with 5 pounds of coolant, and needed $400. I said if the unit needed replacement why would he fill it? I told him to get lost...I called another supplier (Airiffic) for a second opinion, he came to look at it, said the dude didn't do all the testing (he could tell because some fittings where still dirty or didn't have the caps removed) and that the unit would not run being that low on coolant. Given we didn't know what the dude from ACW did, we agreed to have him come back in 8 weeks to check. Airriffic came back this week, did the full check and service and said all was fine. The dude at AC Warehouse was clearly dishonest, looking for a sale and commission. I think they were grooming me here, the first dude planting the seed I had a small leak and the second dude coming in and validating it. What a bunch of dopes. read more

I do not recommend A/C Warehouse. A/C Warehouse installed a new A/C system in my home. During the process an item that I believe is called a float switch was installed but was not functional. A little over two months later we discovered extensive water damage to our home. The problem was traced to the new A/C system. I called A/C Warehouse to fix the system. The problem was identified as the float switch being non-functional. The total damage to the house was approximately $4,963.12. An additional cost from A/C Warehouse of $129.00 was incurred to repair the A/C system. I called Nate of A/C Warehouse to inquire if they would reimburse us for the damages caused by the faulty switch. He indicated that he would look into the situation and return my call. Having waited two months for a call back I assume they are not willing to stand behind their work. read more

The next company I used said I needed a larger tonnage unit for the size of the home. Another $5000.00 spent. They installed it and I never had a problem since. I feel this company is completely dishonest. After numerous house visits for an inspection I found either the air conditioning or the heat did not work. This happened at least twice. It left me without air conditioning in 90 degree plus weather and without heat on 40 degree nights. This was a brand new unit that was under warranty. Be forewarned about using them and then having them call you to inspect the work that was done resulting in a unit not working for over a week or longer. - Also be aware they do not run service on weekends, or holidays so if your unit goes down on a Friday, plan to suffer a long weekend! read more

They installed a Lennox Elite heat pump at my home, they put the air handler on an existing wood box in my garage for which the top piece of plywood was rotted and black with mold from the existing air handler that leaked water onto it! Fortunately I noticed it, so they came out and removed/reinstalled the new air handler after removing the rotted wood and putting a new piece of plywood on the box, so there are two stars. And then the Lennox Elite air handler also leaked water on the top of the box, but I did not notice until after 1 year full warranty, so they would not do anything about it. I spent 4+ hrs fixing the inside of air handler so the condensate on the inside walls drained into the drain. Unit lasted 10 years with moderate use, but was rusting badly and leaking coolant, so started getting quotes to replace it. That is when another company pointed out that the copper return line was making a 90 degree bend, said it was not good for coolant flow, and had 4 joints each of which adds a more contaminants from the brazing process to the inside of the coolant system (see pics). When I called to have an AC Wharehouse tech look at the system "they installed" he said the R410a coolant was $150/lb and could just leak out in a week or two, so I was like why throw away $500-1500? So he did not even do any diagnosis of the system and still charged me $89. That reminds me of the AC Warehouse tech that came for the annual service I needed to keep the warranty, would check the pressures, tell me a story or two and leave. After 6 years the 14 seer system started using more energy, based on the FPL website tools, found out the double row of coils around the compressor were 50% clogged with white corrosion from the aluminum fins, the AC Warehouse tech never cleaned them once in 5 years, and on the 6th rinsed them with a garden hose which did not remove the corrosion. Next got a tech from AND Services who atleast cleaned the inside row of coils. I then cleaned the outside row myself and AC system energy usage went back to normal. read more

Our air conditioner went out on a Thursday (the unit is only 5 years old and was installed by AC Warehouse). From Thursday until Monday we had to spend our time managing the process to get our unit fixed. We had a Tech tell us on Friday that he wouldn't be back until Monday because he was on call over the weekend and wasn't going to waste 4 hours on our job during that time. We continually had to call the office to find out what was going on. Poor communication, poor behavior of the Tech, and the fact that we shouldn't of even had an issue with a 5 year old unit that they service for us is why we rated so poorly. Billy came to service my AC, replaced my thermostat (which was working fine) with a lower grade Honeywell & charged me $365 for a unit that is only $60 online. He then told me he had to order parts and I would be without AC until Monday on a holiday weekend. I contacted another company & they had my AC unit working within 5 mins! They proceeded to cut off her electricity accidentally and then had the audacity to upsell her on an $1800 service she didn't want, need, and can't afford. They had her sign something she couldn't see and didn't understand. They are not returning my calls to attempt to make things right. Their prices for their maintenance program and other services have doubled over the last 10 years.Their tax always want to do work on systems that are new. I had them install my new units four years ago and they were already problems with them, or so they say. And oh, by the way, their warranties don't cover any of the work. We bought our a/c from AC warehouse, and also purchased their multi visit maintenance plan.Each time they schedule a visit, it is with a 4 hour window. And each time we have been at the final moments of that four hours, or they are late. Today, after 1/2 hour past the scheduled window, I called and was told the technician was running late and we were his next visit. Then to add insult to injury, I was told the technician would call when he would be here within 1/2 to1 hour. Since he has not called it could possibly be much longer than another hour before he eventually appears. If this is the last maintenance visit we have prepayed for, it will definitely be the last time I use them. I intend to put this review on Yelp and Home Advisor so others can see how little respect this company has for customers. read more
