We are a repeat customer of Ed's, and would recommend him without reservation. For our latest…read moreproject, we needed to increase the functionality of a small nook in our Cambridge condo, which was serving as a book shelving-cat feeding-cat litterbox-storage area. Ed worked with us to design and build beautiful built in bookshelves and cabinets that perfectly fit the space (with all of its uneven surfaces!), and even included a custom litter box space for our discerning felines. He also adjusted the electrical outline to accommodate the new built-ins, and, with a newborn in the house, we appreciated that he did as much work as possible ahead of time! We would trust him, and his design recommendations, for any future project. We keep staring at the bookshelves, saying to each other how great they look!

The on-site manager, Jonathan, was great, and they gracefully and quickly responded to additional requests and changes of plans we requested, including entirely changing one of the windows. Even our neighbor reached out to tell us how nice and respectful they were and asked us how we found them. The answer is that I just saw that they were well-reviewed on Yelp, so I'm adding my review here too. Their pricing was very reasonable, and their work was exceptional. They replaced a shower system, which involved breaking existing tile and seamlessly re-tiling the affected section after the new shower was installed. During the process, they covered the opening with plastic so we could continue using the shower (even though it only took a couple of days). The re-tiled area blends perfectly with the rest of the shower (see attached pic). You'd never know it was repaired. They also repaired significant water damage from burst pipes, replacing and adding insulation and drywall, installed recessed lighting with dimmers, replaced a window and glass shower doors, swapped out an awkward set of swinging bathroom doors for a proper door, and took care of several long-overdue household repairs. Everything was completed quickly, quietly, and efficiently. If we ever need renovations in the future, we'll definitely be using them again.

After a Servpro demolition team throughout all the damaged furniture, carpets, wall boards and wall insulation and treated for mold, I started looking to hire a construction company to rebuild: insulation, wall boards, damaged sub flooring, plastering, painting, flooring, and the damaged baseboard heating. Using Yelp and Angie I requested a work proposal and cost estimate from 6 contractors, half of which never got back to me. LB Special Projects owner took time with me to explain the work to be done and answer all my questions. It was clear that he knew his business down to as much details as I wanted to know. His company went beyond the work I requested because they have a high standard of quality. They know you'll be living with the work they do. It's apparent from other reviews that this is a 5 star company. I would add that everyone that worked on restoring my house: carpenters, plumbers, electricians did their work to the same high standard, and were open and helpful to answering my questions I will continue to recommend this company and call upon them for any projects I want done in the future

Terrific job done by Boston Framers!…read more We had contacted seven other contractors before getting such a positive response from Boston Framers. Our initial inquiry was sent on a Saturday, but the owner, Ruy Barbosa, replied within an hour. He met us the following workday to go over our needs and discussed various options. He projected confidence at being able to renovate our deck yet maintain its overall look. He was willing to work with us and the city's historic commission to preserve some key features of the deck. During the course of the work, Ruy and his staff were responsive to questions or changes that we requested. Communication with them was great. They were eager to please us and found ways to make the project stay on-time and within budget, even when curve balls were thrown at them. Overall, they renovated our dilapidated deck boards with composite flooring. They removed heavy railings and pillars, completely overhauled the structural supports, installed the composite flooring and finally replaced the railings & pillars. Additionally, we had them pressure wash and paint the deck. The cost associated with the structural supports and flooring was very much in line with what we believed was reasonable. We liked their work so much that they have also redone our rear porch & steps. Currently we are waiting on estimates for three more home projects. Before and after photos attached

Brutal experience with them back in 2022-2024. They were supposed to build a new rubber roof. It started leaking on 3 separate occasions (which btw was never fully fixed -- we moved on to different contractors who did address the issues). And like I said, it would take months for them to actually come back and attempt to fix anything. Often they'd come by, look at the damage, then I wouldn't hear from them for multiple weeks. Meanwhile, more damage continues to accrue to the walls and ceilings. The internal fixes they applied for the water damage were just patch jobs. They just plastered and painted over. Meanwhile, the insulation behind the wall was soaked and accrued black mold that we had to address later. Also worth pointing out a major blunder at the beginning of the project (see attached videos and pics). They opened up the roof, and left it open for multiple days without doing any work. Well of course a major rainstorm came by (which was on the weather forecast well in advance). Alll that water poured into the house in the middle of the night setting off fire alarms. It was a nightmare to deal with on my end.
