(As for the lengthy bid that another reviewer mentioned: yes, it was lengthy, but I liked the thoroughness and in fact used WKB's bid as a yardstick against comparing other bids. I'd gotten estimates of the project via text from other contractors and when I asked "does that include clean-up?" or something else, I'd find that no, they'd forgotten to include it. With WKB's bid, there were no surprises.) Ben was the lead on our deck renovation and also polite, professional and happy to answer any questions. I appreciated that he and Jared met with us right before the work started to figure out what space could be used for storing materials, where to put a dumpster, etc. instead of just assuming. There were a few days when the weather was bad, and Ben got in touch just to let us know that he would be coming the next day. As I said above, there were no surprises and we knew what was going on every step of the way. We're very happy with our deck and would use WKB for another project.

He handled a large kitchen renovation for us that involved the design itself, taking down a load-bearing wall, replacing a wooden floor, moving a steam pipe, moving ductwork, adding light fixtures, running new electrical & plumbing, installing cabinetry, and painting & finishing. He has a closely-knit team of trusted partners, and that contributes to the consistent quality and speed of work. You could pursue a cheaper option like Home Depot, but they make no guarantee on their subcontractors' expertise, and what they can do is extremely limited (structural changes are a nonstarter). Brito was on time, on budget, respectful of our home, super professional and pleasant to work with, and we were so appreciative of how communicative they were with us, texting us updates and photos throughout the process. We had several contractors prior to Brito Construction come to assess and quote this same job and we were either told that the project wasn't worth their time or wouldn't do both the structural and the finish work such as putting in the flooring. We had lots of back-of-a-napkin quotes with no itemization and no time frame available. In contrast, Kevin came, quoted the project, was straightforward about what would need to be done, arranged a time a few weeks in the future when we could be out of the house, and did such a beautiful job down to all the little details that it feels like a new home. Despite the huge demo done, we came home to a spotless house and a yard clean on debris. Professional work, done on time, by honest people.
