If I could give these guys 10 stars, I would! The owner and the staff and top notch in service and ability. During a heat wave, AC Cool didn't have a tech available on the same day, so I mistakenly tried another company. The other guy wanted to charge over $1,000 for a new blower, but I had AC Cool come anyway, just to get a 2nd opinion. Thank goodness we did! AC Cool found a painters bootie/shoe cover that had been sucked up into the blower causing vibration and reduced airflow. The foreign object was removed and the unit is just fine. The vexing bootie was removed in just a few minutes and I saved a ton of money! I'm so grateful that AC Cool is honest and and trustworthy. They certainly have earned our business! Bill was here and I was so glad I made the appointment with AC Cool first. I had 2 other appointments lined up, but was happily able to cancel them. My H/VAC is from Carrier. The company that installed it did not provide good customer service. Bill adjusted the vent slats to the rooms so that the rooms would have broader air coverage. He also showed me how to operate the thermostat, which I was operating, but not really understanding how to set it. All in all, I was very satisfied with this company and will be glad to trust them to come on a regular schedule to keep my equipment operating well. : ) read more

Sadly I didn't have the opportunity to experience the five star ratings that so many others shared for AC Cool. I am/was in need of a new HVAC system and ducting. Based on the five star ratings, I called AC Cool. I spoke to a very friendly receptionist (Katie) and felt like I landed with the right company. I scheduled a time for the owner (Paul) to come to my home to inspect the potential work and provide a bid. I set the meeting a week out and was given a 2 hour window between 2pm and 4pm. Perfect! This morning I called to confirm the appointment and was told I was on the schedule and all looked good. I took a half day off of work to ensure I was home to meet with Paul. At 4:09pm I still hadn't received a call or visit, so I called the office to ask if Paul was still going to make it. After a bit of confusion, it was confirmed I was on the schedule but the receptionist (not Katie) didn't know whether Paul would be able to make it. She asked if she could call me back after contacting Paul. A few minutes later, she called back and told me Paul was held up at another job and wouldn't be able to make it today. She then informed me that Paul could come tomorrow or the next day. Seems like a reasonable request except for the fact that nobody proactively called to say Paul was running behind today, so how can I be confident he'd show up tomorrow? Given the experience of today, why would I take another half day off of work to sit through another "schedule window" when they couldn't make the first window even after my morning confirmation? In my experience if it starts bad, it ends bad. Based on other reviews, it sounds like my experience is not the norm. Or maybe others just move on to other contractors. read more

AC Cool does it again! Our AC was working intermittently over the weekend heat wave so I called them Saturday afternoon. They picked up the phone right away and we scheduled servicing for Monday between 10:30 and 11am. I was happy they gave us a 30 minute window and our technician, Bill, showed up right on time. BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD! We have used AC Cool for 10 years and we are always beyond satisfied with the service. When we bought our first condo in Corona we found that the furnace was broken and the gas company wouldn't turn on our service. We were referred to AC Cool by a family member and they came right out and got us a new unit and even worked with our home warranty company to get us the best unit they could for what our warranty company wanted to pay. All in all, stellar service! we were in our condo for 5 years and never had an issue with the furnace. Fast forward 7 years... we bought another house with an old AC unit. We had AC Cool replace the unit, and apparently the unit had a manufacturer defect (no fault of AC cool's). AC Cool was responsive to all of our concerns and phone calls. Once they were able to pinpoint the defect and determine that it was a manufacturer issue, they took care of all the warranty paperwork with the manufacturer and were out installing our new unit within a few days. While I am not up on the technical specs of the issues, the customer service we received from the company was beyond stellar! I would give them 10 stars if I could! read more

I chose AC Cool a couple months ago when my air conditioner stopped working on a hot weekend. I was able to get same-day service the next business day when I gave them a call. The technician was on time, friendly, and clean. However, I feel AC Cool was probably on the more expensive end services for what was provided. My condenser's capacitor went bad, and the technician determined my blower's filter needed to be replaced. It cost almost $300 for $60(ish) in parts and 15 minutes of actual work. Quite a profit they made off of me that afternoon! Though friendly and I might recommend them in the future, I think I'll be shopping around for better rates for any future services. read more

We have used A.C. Cool for minor service repairs over the past few years at two different homes in Orange, CA with much success. They have always been friendly, responsive, and reasonably priced. Last year the AC unit in our new home needed to be replaced. It was beyond repair. We put off the work over the winter, and picked up the project a few months ago. We knew this was going to be a major job, so we wanted to do our research before we selected a company to work with. Of course, based on our past experience, we asked A.C. Cool to bid the project. We also asked our friends in the area for their HVAC recommendations and referrals, and we went on to get three other bids. Of the four bids we received, we decided to go with A.C. Cool for a number of reasons. First, John Moses was a please to work with. He was friendly and knowledgeable--never condescending. He was responsive and thorough in his communication. Second, John was very clear on what minimum work would be required, but he was also helpful in suggesting other work that would be worth considering if we were going to be doing a major project. Finally, the price was reasonable. A.C. Cool was not the lowest bid, but we were satisfied that the price was reasonable for the work that was being proposed. Other companies we talked to either skimped in their proposals (lacking detail and options) or were obviously charging unnecessary premiums. Based on the strong proposal and good past experience with A.C. Cool, we decided to use them for the work. The work was performed quickly and cleanly. The crew was only onsite a couple of days. They were neat in their work habits and cleaned up completely at the end of each day. When the crew was done my wife signed off on the job and gave them our credit card info for payment. That night when I got home from work I checked out the job. There were a few areas where I had questions, and a couple of things were done differently than I expected. I called John and started asking my questions. He offered to meet me at the house the next day after work with the installer. We walked the site together and went over my questions. John and the installer answered my questions and made no attempts to justify or excuse anything that didn't meet my expectations--even things that were not detailed in the quote. John volunteered to hold back a portion of the payment my wife had already authorized until we were 100% satisfied, and they had the crew come out the next day to rework a couple of minor things and button up a few others. Needless to say, the project ended up great, and A.C. Cool was a pleasure to work with. I was impressed with their customer-focus and commitment to quality from beginning to end. I had a great experience with AC Cool, and would highly recommend them to anyone in need of an A/C and heating company. They are great people, providing outstanding service with top-of-the-line products. We had a 43 year old Carrier A/C and furnace that was on its last legs. During the heat waves the A/C couldn't get the house below 84 degrees without the condenser making grinding noises and smoking. In the winter the noise from the furnace was so loud we couldn't hear the TV! We wanted a solution that would replace the whole system as well as the duct work in the attic, which had become badly worn. Right from the get go, Katy set us up with Paul, who gave us a reasonable quote that included four options for our A/C and heating replacement needs. We picked the option that was right for us, and Paul and his crew were out the next week to do the replacement. The whole job took one day and the results were beyond our expectations. The new Carrier system is QUIET and EFFICIENT! We enjoy great cooling and the noise level is greatly improved. We hardly know the unit is on! Paul and the crew installed a second return under the furnace, and insulated the whole return chamber area under the furnace. This helped to greatly reduce the noise. Additionally, they installed high flow replacement grills on the returns and in all the rooms throughout the house. With all this, and the new ducting in the attic, our home was given new life. AC Cool did a fantastic job installing an air conditioning unit, new furnace, and new ducting in our home in Irvine. We were extremely impressed with John Moses - the representative co-owner of the company. He came out, arrived on time and gave us great information on what the process would be - and he gave us a very reasonable price quote. As a matter of fact, 2 of my neighbors also met with John, and all 3 of us decided to go with AC Cool. Once we were on the calendar with AC Cool (which was within a week!), John brought the other co-owner out - Paul - who went through our homes and mapped-out the projects. Both of these men were super professional, extremely knowledgeable, and very easy to communicate with. The crew was fantastic - starting with Joseph. Joseph appeared to be the lead guy once the job started. He was very accessible, super smart and knowledgeable, and the entire crew was friendly and respectful. They got the job done in just a few days - which was remarkable, since none of the homes previously had A/C. By the way - the entire crew spoke English, and every employee of AC Cool is drug-tested regularly. Everything was cleaned-up well when they were finished and we couldn't be happier with the end result. My neighbors are also extremely happy with AC Cool and their new A/C & heating systems. Also, AC Cool replaced my elderly mother's A/C unit and she was very impressed with the price, the workmanship, and the professionalism of the entire AC Cool team. I was very unimpressed by this company's tech. The only reason they are getting a 3 star review now is because of their extremely understanding and helpful receptionist and the second tech they sent out who ended up being the one who did the job. They might just have gotten a 5 star review from me if it wasn't for their technician named Jeff. I was originally in contact with Rand Aire, but they were booked solid for the next two weeks and we needed someone to come out ASAP. My mom had rented one of her vacant units in her commercial building and the tenant is inspecting the unit at the end of the week. Rand Aire referred me to this company. I called on a Monday and spoke with a man who was very nice, though I cannot recall his name. He said he could have someone out to us by Wednesday. Told me we were scheduled with Jeff for between 12 and 12:30pm. Excellent. I live around the corner from the property, however, my mother is located in Orange. I had an appointment at 11am, but my mom was all set to meet Jeff at 12pm. I returned home from my appointment at 11:30. At exactly 11:40 I received a call from a number I didn't recognize and I was on the phone. When I got off the phone and listened to the message, it was Jeff letting me know that he was having trouble finding the property. I promptly called him back at 11:46 (I am reading this information straight off of my phone) and no response. I left him a message letting him know I would run over to the property and meet him. I tried calling once again. No response. So I get in my car and run over to the property. My mom's handyman was there working on the flooring, but he had just gotten back from the dump. The minute I drove up he asked me what time it was. 11:58. I still had not received a call back from Jeff. I figured maybe he was on the phone when I tried to get in contact with him the first time, and since it wasn't yet 12, I figured I would just wait a bit. At 12:18 I got tired of waiting and called once again. Jeff answered the phone and immediately told me how he was already all the way back in Orange! He immediately tried to start rebooking for the next day! This naturally pissed me off. You get to an appointment 20 minutes early and because no one is there to meet you, you leave and expect us to take more time out of our week so that we can accomodate YOU? WTF kind of crap is that? He only turned the attitude off when I threw the fact that he was early in his face and threatened to write him a scathing Yelp review. He agreed to come back, but by that time, my mom and I were so annoyed that I just called him back and told him to forget it. We were going to just call it off and try and find someone else, but I decided to give the original number a call and see if I could get ahold of Jeff's boss. I was able to get ahold of their receptionist who was very friendly and she quickly tried to remedy the situation. She told me she would call me back in an attempt to find one of their techs nearby that would be able to get out to us within 30 minutes. Long story short, she ended up getting us a tech named Richard to come to the property. He arrived within 15 minutes instead of the 30 minutes we were quoted. He was extremely friendly and efficient. The service was probably done within a half hour. We were charged $89 for the service (which is more than their website states, but whatever) and now we can get the tenant situated. Bottom line, we MIGHT use this company again in the event we end up needing this type of service. Their receptionist and their second tech earned them at least three stars from me, but it definitely wasn't five star service. My advice if you use this company would be that if they tell you they will be sending Jeff, ask for another tech. read more

Bad service... Made an appoitment for 12pm to 1pm slot and no technician showed up. Call both 949-720-3938 and 714-532-2447 many times and no answer with full voice mails. Got out of work from to make this appointment and with a no show makes it a horrible experience... I work in the torrance area and traveled back home to yorba linda with a "no show" and no answers makes it horrible. Lost working hours and now have to go back to torrance (work) knowing that AC Cool did not deliver as promised to be at my house between 12pm and 1pm. It has now been a week since we had our new furnace and coil installed. We choose A C Cool to come to our house for a bid because of the Yelp ratings and that they were local. However, the main reason that we choose A C Cool to do the work was because of John Moses. He is friendly, and he knows his "stuff". He explained the options and used hi tech tools to demonstrate our need to upgrade our present system. There was a leak somewhere in the line and the ac was not working. The tools that John used included a heat/cool device that showed the leaking of cold air in our duct system. The other devise was a camera that looked inside our furnace to show its rust and its age. What we have noticed, most importantly, is that the ac does not have to work as hard to keep the house cool. So, everything is good and cool!! The other impressive factor was the working crew of Chris, Joe, and David. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. We really liked them and felt comfortable having them in our home. In addition, Chris sealed up our duct system at no additional cost. Their labor warranty is beyond industry standard. Their license and worker's comp insurance was up to date, according to the CSLB. Their paperwork was up to date and everything was done professionally. As you can tell, we highly recommend A C Cool to take care of your ac needs. I called A.C. Cool this morning after spending this past weekend extremely miserable as our AC had stopped working. They were able to get a technician out this afternoon (same day) who had determined that we blew a fuse on our outside unit. He replaced the fuse, and even changed the filter and was extremely helpful and courteous! Our previous AC repairman wasn't going to be able to come out until September 8th which was too long for us to wait as the temps are not cooling down very much. I wish there were more stars to give than just 5. This company is amazing and I can't say enough great things about them. My wife and I have used them twice now in the span of a year for a new home we moved into. The first time around Paul, the owner of the company, and Jeff came to replace our old furnace which was on it's last leg. Paul and Jeff were prompt, clean, efficient and did an awesome job installing. We have had zero issues with the furnace and it heats our house perfectly. They removed the old one and left the garage cleaner than when they arrived. Paul is a really great guy, is extremely knowledgeable and good at his work. We recently had AC Cool back out after our puppy chewed through some air conditioning wiring. This time Rob showed up and also did an amazing job. He too was on time, clean and knowledgeable. Just completed a great AC HVAC experience with a very professional company! Our 50 year old (yes 50) heater ended it usefulness, so we were looking for a new system. Since we live near the coast we don't currently have AC, just heat. With increasing summer temps we are considering AC also. Jon Moses from AC Cool showed up exactly as scheduled. He explained the various options and pricing. We decided to go with a two step process; 1st replace the heater, next step with possible AC. Service installers were very professional, neat and great cleanup. Explained how to use the equipment. We greatly appreciated Jon's followup to make sure all is well. We are very pleased with Jon and his company. We are seriously considering the AC addon next. Jon designed the heating so it will be easy turn key add on when we decide. I just found out that the service we've been getting from AC Cool for the past two years has been worthless. Our condenser has not been taken apart, cleaned or serviced for several years, at least. Well, Jeff told me my AC unit was on borrowed time when he recharged my system recently, and he was right. Within a week, the Freon had leaked out and I was back to coming home to an oven. Paul came out to my house and diagnosed my system - kaput. He gave me some replacement options, the details of what they would be replacing and why they recommended different brands for the different components, and the estimates for each option. We scheduled the replacement of my system, and he recharged my dying unit so that it would at least give us some cool air for a few days until they came back. The crew arrived today to replace the system. They showed up early, made quick work of the job, and were very friendly and professional. The total charge was just what they said it would be, no surprises. They swapped out my ancient thermostat too, and helped me figure out how to use the new digital thermostat. First class work, and my house is cool again, this time for good! read more

I am a very particular person, and AC Cool met absolutely all my needs. From product selection, to installation, to system design, they are absolutely the best. Believe me - I interviewed more than a dozen before going with them. They met all deadlines. Communication was regular and flawless. No details were left unaddressed, and they brought considerable expertise to the project. The project was done on time and UNDER budget! And I live in Cerritos where the inspectors are extra picky! Just as an aside, I want to mention the energy savings. My electric bill is 25% of what it was before - not a typo. It really is only a quarter of the prior cost - and I don't skimp on AC. To be fair, I also did complete LED lighting to save on energy, but the AC system is a HUGE factor in the savings. This project was well worth the cost. Paul, Kate, and the rest of the team are truly the best. Do not install a new furnace or AC without interviewing them. read more

Left a message with AC Cool and received a call back from Katie at the office within 30 minutes stating that her technician was driving past our city from another service and he could be there in 20 minutes! She was wonderful! Left me VM to confirm and then even texted me because I didn't have the ringer on. He showed up 15 minutes later after I had approved the visit.
